Sunshine 364 Days of the Year – Ok, maybe 364 days is a bit of an exaggeration. However, the normal weather in Los Angeles sunny and in the sixties or seventies. It is the stereotypical version of West Coast weather. The weather is pleasant, and that causes the atmosphere on campus to be bright and joyful.
A slight con is that, when it does rain, the campus floods. Southern Californians just are not that used to rain! Some may say that there is a lack of seasons, but snow and the mountains are not far from campus. There is not much to complain about nice, sunny weather!

Being in Los Angeles, UCLA is really diverse. Statistically, Caucasians are a majority, but the Asian ethnicities are very present at UCLA, and most international students are from Asian countries. There is also a strong presence of other ethnicities, as seen through the cultural clubs for Latinos/Latinas, African-Americans, and various Middle Eastern ethnic groups.
Moreover, there are many different religious groups on campus. Although there are many Christian groups, there are also Buddhist, Jewish, Atheist, and Muslim groups on campus as well. There is also a Catholic center near campus, and the center actually hosts many different religious clubs' meetings.
There is also a strong acceptance of the LGBT community, and they have their own office in the Student Activities center.

UCLA has a vast amount of majors. Something for everyone. I'm a pre med major and I completed alot of AP math and science classes. My grades were very good so I realized I needed to concentrate on my essay for admissions.

My program at UCLA is very strenuous, busy and difficult. The curriculm is very informative and condusive to my field of study. My instructors are able to convey the information accurately. I've been very satisified with my education thus far. My instructors are very approachable when issues arise and always help solve the problem.

Sunny and Pleasant – The weather is what you would expect from southern California: warm and pleasant most of the year. It can get pretty hot in the summer and at the beginning of the fall semester, which isn't always nice when you have to walk twenty minutes from your dorm to class!

Campus Shuttle – As you might suspect, transportation at UCLA is difficult and parking is a nightmare. They do have a campus bus system that is decently convenient, and it makes quite a few stops in Westwood. I never caught a bus to take me around campus, so I'm not sure how convenient it is for that, but I have taken it to and from Westwood, which was a lifesaver coming home with groceries and no car!
They also have bus service that goes out to Santa Monica and stops by the beach.

Mostly Asian and White Students – It seems as though a vast majority of the school is composed of Asian and White students, and though you do see some African Americans scattered around the campus, many of them belong to athlete programs. There is a fairly sized Hispanic base in the school, but it is overshadowed by the overwhelming Asian base.

Greek Life throws most of all of the parties on for UCLA, but people don't need to be in Greek life to be involved socially.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
