There are computer labs available in several libraries, in the Student Activities Center, and in several other buildings on campus. It is possible to rent laptops from Powell. There are also several computer labs in the dorms. They're really only crowded around crunch time. Printing can get a bit pricy. Having your own computer will definitely help you stay at ease in the comfort of your own room.

Dining Halls – There are 4 residential dining halls: De Neve, Covel, Hedrick, and Feast (the new Pa-Asian themed dining hall). All four serve pretty decent food and are fairly conveniently located. My favorite is Feast; lots of diversity and authenticity in dishes, and everyday is vastly different from each other. One day could be Korean-Thai, the next could be Japanese-Hawaii or Vietnamese-Indian or any number of combos of the above plus Chinese. Moreover, Feast is located right at my dorm, Rieber Hall, so it's the most convenient.

There Is So Much to Do! There is literally something for everyone! From research opportunities, clubs, volunteer groups, politically active groups, a cappella groups, music clubs, dance companies, sports teams, etc. Everyone is doing there own thing and the possibilities are endless! There are some amazing professors on campus and so many internship/job opportunities! I love UCLA! Also, the weather is sunny all year around! You can't beat that!

UCLA renovates their buildings regularly, and although they are kind of small, I really like my dorm room! The facilities are all top notch, even though it's really expensive to stay in the dorms. The housing process is really easy and I haven't ever heard of disastrous roommate problems. My only complaint is that the dorms are too far away from campus. It takes me at least 15 minutes to walk to my closest class, and at least 25 minutes to walk to my farthest! There is a lot of walking involved, which keeps you in tip-top shape! I use a pedometer and it says I walk around 5 miles a day here.

Los Angeles Has Lots to Do, but Transportation Is a Pain – There is so much to do in LA that it's almost over whelming, but if you don't have a car it's really hard to go anywhere. Westwood is really nice, but just has a lot of shopping and restaurants to hang out in. You have to use the bus system to do anything fun, which is fine, but it takes forever.

Closer Apartments Are Expensive – As you get closer to campus, the apartments become smaller and more expensive. Further away, there are apartments that are cheaper but getting to class can be a problem. However UCLA provides its very own bus system for these students so it can be worth the extra mile.

Expensive but Wide Variety of Choices – Around Westwood there are a lot of places to eat for a many different people. The problem is finding the right places to eat that is affordable with a student budget. There are some places with great prices but many places are pretty expensive. A popular place is called Diddy Reise that sells ice cream sandwiches for $1.50.

I love it. I was unsure about my major coming in, Chemistry, and when I finally decided to switch to Anthropology and that was the best decision ever.

Helping Everyone – Everyone on campus is involved with a lot of community service programs and are dedicated to helping the student body.

The weather is excellent. You can expect most days to be sunny and you do seldom have to worry about the rain.

A Little City on Its Own – The facilities at UCLA are incredible. The gym is great if you are looking to working out on the treadmill or playing basketball, volleyball, or squash with you friends. There is also a room for those who want to focus on strengthening themselves by weightlifting. There are also special group exercises that go on everyday from Zumba classes to Bootcamp to Biking classes to Bollywood workouts to Mat Pilates. The student center, while not central to everyone's student life here at UCLA, offers all you need to keep you on task with your academics. There is free printing there, a test bank, and a couple of other student groups that are located there for anyone to go get any information from. Campus activities are bountiful and there is never a reason to say that you are bored here at UCLA, except when you are studying of course. Speaking of studying, there are great locations for people to study in from numerous libraries, to study lounges, to coffee shops, to our beautiful campus itself. UCLA is gorgeous, and although it is the smallest UC campus, it is one of the most stunning and attracting ones.

Don't Have a Car – Parking is expensive and difficult if you don't have a garage to park in under your apartment. If you're living in on-campus housing, don't even bother. Having visitors is a nightmare, especially for overnight parking. The side-streets are crowded and have strictly enforced parking hours. You can get around without a car and that's my recommendation.

It's a Thing – There is plenty of off campus housing. The trick is finding good places. Some of the landlords of very unresponsive while others are far better. There's quite a bit of housing close to campus but then again there are many students so some have to live a 30 minute walk away. However the bus system in Westwood is wonderful so it's manageable.

Frats or Bust – The social life is completely centered around greek life, particularly freshman and sophomore year. If there are no frats having parties, then there is no where to go out. Additionally, the only night to go out that even has the potential of being fun is Thursday; if you try and go out on a Friday or Saturday night, the best of luck to you, because odds are that you won't find a party that is much fun.

Public transportation is abysmal - it's not unsusual for google maps to say it will take twice as much time to take a bus somewhere as it would to bike.

Lots of yummy cheap options. Yamatos, Fat Sals, Yogurtland, Diddy, BJs, anything you want

Westwood is a pretty good college town, and the bus system makes it easy to go to Beverly Hills or other nearby cities.

Parking is expensive and people still have to fight for parking permits - which are also expensive.

It's Great – We got a gym, a track field, multiple pools, and plenty of other things. UCLA really makes sure that people have options for their fitness. It's great!

Guys & Girls:
Everyone's All Right. This isn't a shallow review. Yeah, you can get to meet new people, and yeah the experiences are pretty fun. But if you're looking for a group of polite-folk who wanna just relax and take it slow, you're looking at the wrong school. People are fun, but also pretty rowdy.

Don't Forget to Move Your Car – Last year a lot of people received parking ticket due to construction making certain areas unsure of whether a person could park there or not. street cleaning sucks because certain days certain areas aren't available for parking so don't forget to move your car.

ASIAN INVASION – Begin mexican i found it extremely difficult to find someone of the same background. I love my roommates but they both Asian as with most of the people on the floor. Besides Asians there are also a lot of white students.

Better to Take a Bus – Because there is always traffic on the way to my school, I prefer to take a bus although I drive. The distance isn't that far but the traffic just make me waste unnecessary time on the road. In the bus, at least I can read some books or assigned readings.

Competance With USC – Our school has an old rival from long time ago: USC. So during the time of football or basketball tornament, students in our school get so excited by betting on who will win.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
