Parking is almost nonexistent. While one can easily survive without a car, and most do, it is rather inconvenient for those who are day commuters.

Greek Life is great. It provides students with a wide variety of events to attend throughout the week and creates a smaller community in which students do not feel overwhelmed by the size of the university.

UCLA is overall an excellent school, with fantastic athletics, academics, and overall experience.

I love LA! I have met many amazing people at UCLA.

Many Different People – There are people from all over the world and of different races and cultures here. It is interesting to learn about other people's cultures.

SUNNY CALIFORNIA – The weather is great all year round minus the slight coolness in the summer. The campus is surrounded by trees, making the air very fresh all the time!

Reiber Vista – The dorm plaza are new and clean. UCLA is currently building a new dorm to house more incoming students. The food is great and you can eat as much as you, which is great! Great food, living space, and study rooms!

Professors expect a lot from their students and don't hold on their hand. Most professors challenge their students to make them think and apply concepts learned in class. UCLA provides an environments where each student can grow intelligently and socially.

My school's residential life is well systemized. College students have to spend about 4 years in campus, so circumstance around the campus is really important. My school is a number 1 dining system in America and buildings are all re-constructed every year. Our Student Leaders are always available to help us out to make better residential life.

Sunny and Warm – As usually, weather in LA is pretty good. It's kind of cold in the morning, but gets hotter afternoon. It rains only a few days during winter time. No snow or hail in LA.

Health & Safety:
Unsafe at Night – I have heard some crimes and happenings around the campus and dormitory at nighttime. Especially around Westwood, there are some drunk people and homeless people walking on the street. The good point is that there are emergency call on every street in campus.

No Cars! Transportation is a learning process. No freshman have cars, and it's not really necessary. You will o so much walking, but it's okay. Bikes, despite what some may say, aren't really welcome on campus. Many more people have scooters. There are a lot of options for public transportation, be sure to get a map showing their routes. Especially the Big Blue Bus, which can take you to Santa Monica and the beach.

Frats Parties ARE Like the Movies – The first frat party I went to was crazy. "Frat row" is very close to my dorm and lots of students begin their weekend on Thursday night. Outside of school, it seems like clubs are mostly restricted to 20 and older. The Metro bus line runs very late; once I was in Santa Monica at midnight and we had no trouble getting a bus.

Westwood Is Costly – I live in on campus housing, which is actually more expensive that apartments typically. There is a lot of variety in apartment complexes and landlords encourage student business. UCLA even hosted an apartment fair this year, to help students learn about the process of renting an apartment, dealing with landlords and roommates, and navigating the market. Most people who I know in apartments have short walks to campus.

Guys & Girls:
Guys and Girls – There is a great mix of people at UCLA. There are all kinds of people with different interests and backgrounds - making it impossible to describe one style of "dress" or "look". Since the majority of the population comes from California, the general vibe is similar...laid back, positive and fun.

GO BRUINS! I love everything about this school. I love the diversity, intelligence, and school spirit. You can tell everyone loves being here and is proud to be a Bruin!

Partly Greek – There are many involved Greek students at UCLA but partying is not a huge scene. Most of the Greek students are involved in their studies but still throw parties.

Every Race – UCLA has a reputation for being extremely diverse. From what I have seen, this is completely true. There are many options for persons of every ethnic group. Many ethnic groups, however, stay within their group and mixing between groups does not happen as often as it would seem.

I am currently undeclared but am thinking of economics. The program is good and the area is perfect for internships.

Drug use is like every other regular school, depends on who you hang out with.

All of the UCLA Professors are the top of their respective fields and are more than happy to work with students on their projects.

Ditty Reese – An amazing place to eat ice cream at the low price of $1.25 nearby campus. Definitely go there if you have the time.

The faculty and facilities are great for any student to grow and learn more about how to make a difference in their communities.
