Cost Too Much – Maybe because the campus is connected to Westwood, Bel Air, and Beverly Hills, but the dorms and apartments cost too much.

Convenient Close, and Affordable – There are a lot of nearby restaurants and supermarkets.

Health & Safety:
Safe at All Hours of the Day – It's safe to be on campus late for tutoring or something because there is always someone around, and if you need help walking somewhere there is a number you can call and someone will come and walk you wherever you need to go.

There are so many programs for anything you want to do at UCLA, and it's in LA, so you have access to urban neighborhoods if you want to do urban planning. There's Hollywood if you want to do movies, there are museums if you want to do art, and our medical center is ranked third in the nation. There are so many opportunities to do anything.

There are times when it rains (of course) and days when it's super hot, but overall the weather is fantastic, especially in spring and fall. It makes it so nice to be outside!

The Libraries Are Great – I love going to any library on campus. There's always something neat hidden in every building, and there's a library for everything from music to LGBT studies.

The cost is astronomical. Parking passes are limited and even if you get one, you are not guaranteed a spot. Parking without a pass is unheard of. The off-campus parking is very limited and usually two-hour. Lots of tickets are given. If you are lucky enough to live near public transportation, you should use it if at all possible.

The school does a good job of providing housing, although the cost is outrageous. Your choice of housing, although varied, is not guaranteed, and the rooms with three students are extremely cramped and not conducive to studying.

The school has a large bookstore with everything from clothing to groceries, and it's excellent. There are shopping areas within walking distance from the school with a variety of stores and restaurants.

Living in a Closet – Dorm chambers are really small for a triple, but you get used to it. It's probably worse for the girls. Bathrooms are what you would expect from a communal bathroom-not too dirty but not the most sanitary places.

Off-campus food is pretty good. You can find sushi, Italian, and Asian food all in Westwood for pretty affordable prices.

Food Is Great – It's ranked second in the nation, so the food at UCLA is terrific. They always mix it up so you don't get bored, and it always tastes great. You'll find everything from pizza to burgers to rice dishes and pasta. There are also a lot of pastries and ice cream for dessert.

Big Blue Buses Are Great – A bike at UCLA is nice if you don't mind going up the hills. Everything is within walking distance, though. Buses take you anywhere from Westwood to Santa Monica for only a quarter if you show your BruinCard.

Be Smart About It – Parties at UCLA are the norm. Drinking in the dorms must be quiet; otherwise, someone will rat you out to the RA and you will be written up. The consequences are not too harsh for the first time, but subsequent write-ups could lead to the loss of housing or expulsion at worst. If you want to party safe, there are always apartments and frat houses.

Health & Safety:
I have never felt in danger when walking around UCLA. Even outside of campus, namely Westwood, feels safe. Parties that get too rowdy will get the security on your doorstep.

Drug Scene – The drug and alcohol policy is pretty strict on campus and pretty lenient off campus. Quite a few people drink and smoke, but there isn't much peer pressure regarding it. It's a safe campus and our UCPD officers try to keep it that way!

The Greek life is relatively strong here. About 13 percent of the people are involved in Greek life, but since there are so many students, chances are that you will know someone from a house. Fraternities and sororities are located on different streets, on Gayley and Hilgard, respectively. I don't find that Greeks and non-Greeks are loved or hated by one another-everyone is fine with each other!

Guys & Girls:
The Guys and Chicks – The girls, on average, are much better looking than the guys at UCLA. There are a lot of different styles here, from hipster to high-class. The social life is great since there are so many students. Relationships are relatively few-I believe there are more hook-ups than relationships.

Sunshine Year Round – Los Angeles has beautiful, sunny, mild weather 97 percent of the time. During the winter months, there may be a week or two during the quarter where it is chilly, and a few days here and there where it rains, but by the time the "winter weather" comes, it is winter break. For someone who loves sunshine, it is the place to be. Plus, we're near several beaches, with good weather, the majority of the time.

Many Asian and White Students – While UCLA likes to boast about its "diversity," in all actuality, the largest demographic of students is Asian. While Asian students are considered a minority in the general population, they make up the majority at UCLA. Because of this, most of the student organizations cater to Asian Americans or international students. The second largest demographic of students is Caucasian. So, unless you belong to either of these ethnic groups, you will most likely feel out of place.

Beautiful Architecture and Landscape – The feel of the UCLA campus is lush and beautiful. You are surrounded by a lot greenery and excellent brickwork and architecture. Daily walks through the campus are always breathtaking. The student union has beautiful archways on the outside and modern design on the inside. Our student gym is top of the line. The student union is filled with fast food restaurants, a student store, and anything you need.

There's an amazing, varied faculty with plenty of opportunities for hands-on field work and experience.

Best Choice I Ever Made – Going to UCLA was the best choice I ever made! It is a great party school, with outstanding academics. If you can juggle it all, then it's great!
