Campus life is one of a diverse nature with incredible sprawling grounds and beautiful brick architecture. Being located in Southern California, the weather is always ideal and students are often enjoying the pleasurable climate by being active outside by participating in intramural sports, viewing on-campus outdoor concerts and congregating out in the fresh air.

The atmosphere at UCLA is amazing. Everything from dining to education to night time activities (bars) is within walking distance to campus. Everything is wonderful about this campus and the surrounding area of Westwood, with Santa Monica beach just a few miles down.

The off campus dining at UCLA is fantastic! There is something for everyone. Whether you want something that is cost-effective or you want to splurge on a nice fancy restaurant, you can find it within walking distance of the school. And the variety of food is also something that is to be grateful of because you can find all types of food for everyone, so there is never any conflict when dining in big groups.

The computer labs at UCLA are always available and the wireless network is amazing. There are never any glitches and access to a computer is always available for people who need it and for people who either can't afford their own computer or don't want to carry around their laptops.

I am a freshman and I got into a newly renovated dorm. It is clean and really nice. It is also the closest to campus. Housing for upperclassmen is also really nice and conveniently located.

There is so much to do at UCLA. It is right outside of Westwood which is a really nice part of LA. There is always something going on whether it is a movie premier, a concert, an art showcase or just going to a club with friends.

Parking is a nightmare. It costs a ton to get a permit and it can be very hard to find a spot.

I am in a sorority and I love it. I never though I would be a sorority girl, but all the girls in the house are extremely nice and very helpful with any questions I have about school We all balance each other out, because when it comes to focusing in school we all buckle down and do our work. But we also know when it is time to take a break and enjoy ourselves for a bit.

I have interned at an environmental non-profit and it was very relaxed. They were very flexible with my hours, specially since I have school to worry about as well.

I love the professors & courses! I would definitely do it all over again. I want to go to Dental school. I do not have any concerns finding a job because my mother is a dentist, and she has her own office, so I already have my job waiting for me after graduate school.

You need to have a good GPA & lots of volunteer work. You also need a really good essay to get in. Not a lot of people apply for this program, so it's not impacted, but it is still UCLA so they have a high standard to abide by.

It is a small yet hard program but worth the work.

Guys & Girls:
Because there are about 40,000 grad and undergrad students at UCLA there is bound to be a number of attractive people. However, the bulk of the attractive students belong to greek life. Within the greek life sphere, casual hook-ups are most common and stereotypical dates are a bit rare. Each year there are more and more out of state students so the diversity of attractiveness changes each year as well.

Los Angeles has an amazing amount of off-campus dining options that range from inexpensive to very expensive, and are therefore very accessible to poor college students. These options are great because almost anything can be reached by LA's public transportation (buses). Also, LA's diversity is reflected in its food (from Chinese to Indian to Mexican to American).

The best way to get involved in the undergrad nightlife is to join a frat or sorority because the frats always have large parties during the week and weekend. These parties are usually free, except for what are called 'quarterlies', or huge themed gatherings. However, if you are a male it is much harder to get into any parties that are not your own or your friends. There are apartment parties as well on campus that are free but they tend to be on a smaller scale.

There's always something going on campus. There are always clubs fliering on Bruinwalk and events going on in the Ackerman ballroom. They filmed a American Idol episode at Royce Hall, and they have famous people come and talk and stuff. There are spacious green places with a beautiful view where people can relax and sleep even. Ackerman student union center is awesome as well.

The food both on campus and off campus are all so delicious. There is so much variety for people with all different kinds of tastes, preferences, and dietary needs. The meal plans are great as well!

Some of the dorms are quite small but the newer dorms are AMAZING! The view just gives you the most awesome vibe as you study. Accessibility to campus takes some walking but it's ok you need to exercise with all the bomb dorm food. Only downside is the price... Kinda ridiculous. But other than that, love living on campus.

There are so many places to eat off campus! The variety is incredible, and most places are delicious. There's no way you can try them all in one year. I couldn't be happier to live in Westwood!

Fan Support – A lot of people show up to football game, but not nearly as many that show up for other schools, considering that UCLA's student population is significantly larger than most schools. Also, not very many people come to basketball games, which are held on campus.

Parking is terrible, and extremely expensive! They do it on purpose so students don't bring their cars. The are also extremely strict on parking rules, if you are more that 2 minutes late to move your car after a permit has expired, you can;t talk yourself out of the ticket they just gave you.
College Junior 2013-09-24T18:07:53Z
Athletic Centers – There are always a space to do whatever people enjoy most. There is also a lot of equipment available to use, and there are many classes offered that are cheap! The facilities are always clean and taken care of.

UCLA has groups and clubs for absolutely everything. It doesn't matter if you like juggling, or swimming, or even wish you were on a Quidditch team, UCLA has it. It offers so many opportunities to do exactly what you love to do, and that way also allows you to meet a bunch of people with your same interests!

Lots of students commute because housing costs more than tuition. Lots of Bus service to UCLA. I have been told that the meal plans are a rip off.

I transferred to UCLA from LAVC and Pierce's Honors Programs. It was extra work but by being in the Honors Program allows one an alternate major. In the event one is not accepted to their first choice they will get their second choice. I highly recommend speaking to the Honors counselors at the community colleges and to the UCLA representatives when they visit your school. I also attended the TAP conference, which is for transfer students in the Honors program. I also attended the Personal Statement Workshop that was offered by the admissions office. These were a great benefit to me as I was able to attend other workshops and develop a great personal statement. Ask lots of questions and do the extra work and it will pay off.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
