Not true, there are tons of drug use in the frats and apartments, as well as in the dorms! People smoke weed everywhere, especially hitch and saxon. In the frats, it is common to even use harder drugs. Most of the Greeks roll ecstasy recreationally.

Either a drug scene doesn't exist at UCLA or students are just so super-smart that they can hide it extremely well. Though they're available if you know where to look, hard drugs simply aren't out in the open. The only exception is finals week, when, in true UCLA fashion, dozens of dedicated Bruins pop Adderall in a quest to conquer that fifth all-nighter in a row. Though other drugs are hard to come by, people certainly don't hesitate to blaze next to, around, and (gasp!) on campus, but care is taken to avoid the constantly perusing UC Police. UCLA is by no means a stoner school, but students seem to over-indulge on weed to make up for the lack of visible hard drugs. And, of course, there is the ever-visible alcohol, which no Bruin will ever have a hard time tracking down.
Off-campus drug usage is common for students who want to explore the medium. Marijuana is the most available drug, followed by ecstasy, then cocaine. Most students do not plunge further into the realm of drug usage beyond that, and classes require more attention than the daily use of drugs allows.
