Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

For students with a little more determination and a tad pudgier wallet, off-campus dining is a common adventure—and it is certainly a good one. There are plenty of options near UCLA's campus in Westwood. For lunch, healthy and cheap sandwiches can be found at Corner Bakery Café, Damon and Pythias, or Socko’s. Subs around here are filling and often named after Bruin greats, such as John Wooden, Bill Walton, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. For an after-class treat, try In-N-Out Burger or a little cup of topping-sprinkled heaven at Yogurtland. Dinner is always delicious at BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse or one of Westwood's seemingly endless sushi options.

If you want to venture farther from campus, the area surrounding Westwood is home to scores of taste-bud playgrounds, from alley dives to Sunset bars owned by Ashton Kutcher. Just like its people, Los Angeles's food scene is diverse and amazing, so while at UCLA, make sure to take advantage of the plethora of food options around you. It will be an educational and culinary experience that your stomach will surely thank you for!

Westwood Village

Not a bad place to grab something to eat for cheap or expensive. Definitely have many different options to eat from fast food (subway) to dine in (Yamata's Sushi). There is a diverse amount of restaurants that can cater to your cravings, whether you're feeling something mexican or to a more american dining, throw in a couple delicious asian cuisines and persian and thai food in as well. Definitely a great place to eat late at night as well most places close midnight or later.
