Best Places to Find a Spot
- In the evenings, you can park on Westholme Drive or Midvale Avenue, both of which are a quick walk from campus.
- In the morning and early afternoon, Lot 6 or metered parking near North Campus are your best bets, but a long shot at that.
- It's usually worth the headache to buy a pass in Lot 11 or Lot 36 and take a shuttle into campus.
Getting a Parking Permit
Students must apply for a parking pass by the fifth week of each quarter, and this deadline is as strictly enforced as UCLA's parking laws themselves. Parking is assigned on a points basis, with points coming from a student's class standing, living distance from school, employment status, willingness to carpool, and job's distance from campus. Permits are tough to get unless you have a legitimate job and have sophomore standing or above.
