College Prowler Take
Welcome to sunny Southern California! Legend has it that Hollywood moved here for the proximity of the deserts, mountains, and perennial sunshine that makes almost every day of the year feel like summertime. The temperature stays above 55 degrees year-round. Bring a sweater for the cool winter nights, but nothing too heavy or you’ll overheat. And definitely bring some rain gear for the spring showers; they last from about mid-February until the end of March. But, for the most part, load your closet with shorts or skirts because when the heat turns up, you’ll definitely want to take it off! The weather in Los Angeles is definitely a key selling point of the city. People wear T-shirts and shorts year-round, and the only time that you may need to wear any type of layering is during those winter nights where the temperature can contrast with the sunny days and drop to about 45 degrees. That is as cold as the weather will drop in Los Angeles, and some students will miss the cold weather and the skiing. Luckily, snow is only a two-hour drive from campus to nearby Big Bear Mountain. Where else in the world can you hit the beach and the ski slopes in the same day?

The weather is amazing. It's usually sunny and warm. There are cases of May gray and June gloom and winter gets relatively cold, but it's still shorts and flip-flops weather if you're so inclined. It also rains very rarely.

California has the weirdest...
California has the weirdest weather! One day it will be 90 degrees with people wearing shorts and tank tops. Then, the next day it will be 65 degrees and raining. So, my suggestion is to pack everything you got because you'll probably be wearing it all.

It's beautiful, usually. It's sometimes a little hot, and winter quarter can see some rain. Umbrella, sweatshirts, a swimsuit, and sandals should cover most of your weather needs in LA.

The weather is usually warm, but...
The weather is usually warm, but during the winter and maybe some other seasons, the nights get chilly, but not much colder than 50. During the summer and spring months, the temperature is usually in the 70s. There is sunshine and blue skies with some clouds, and sometimes hardly any, most days of the year. It doesn't rain a lot, but an umbrella is always handy anywhere.

One word describes the weather:...
One word describes the weather: beautiful. There’s no weather like LA anywhere except the Mediterranean. It’s usually sunny and clear. We do not get much rain. That keeps the ladies in the skimpy clothing, if you know what I mean. |
