College Prowler Take
UCR students say that the campus police are extremely strict and crack down hard when they catch you, especially in the dorms. Living in the residence halls, there is little room for error. Underage drinking is a serious problem in the eyes of authorities, and offenders will be written up and punished. Repeat offenders could be evicted from the dormitories if Judicial Affairs deems it necessary. If you plan to participate in any “illegal activities,” you will be better off doing them away from campus and out of the residence halls. It is easier for authorities to see all and hear all in the residence halls, and it’s not worth the risk of possibly getting expelled from school or evicted from your home away from home. However, some students believe it is possible to party in the dorms, as long as you do it smartly by keeping it low-key and quiet. Keep in mind, your residence advisor (RA), has a lot to do with how easy or hard it is to get away with things in the residence halls.
