Given that attractiveness is a matter of personal opinion, it's safe to say that UCR students are generally good looking. Personality-wise, most are friendly and down-to-earth, and willing to embrace relationships of either the friendly or romantic persuasion.
Interactions are usually made in the classroom, due to forced groups or even a mere sense of camaraderie against another student or professor. There are no overt social gaps between the various years (freshman, junior, etc.), but some older students may feel distant from their teenage fellows. The girl-to-guy ratio hovers around the 50-50 area, and all types of relationships are welcome at UCR. Though there are those who are primarily on the lookout for hookups rather than study partners, the majority of students is mainly reserved, both in dress and manner. After all, don't advertise if you're not selling.

Ehhh
Not sure how to evaluate in a general term for all boys and girls here. They are all people to me and they all seem to have a "passing" grade in their outlook.

Girls Are Predominant
A majority of discussion classes have a ratio of 3:1 girls to guys.

In the social scene, UCR fits the laid-back Californian stereotype to the tee. Many students are relaxed and easy-going, though naturally there are those who are stressed about studies. People usually are forced into interaction, like in peer discussion during class or in the dorms. Fortunately, most students are quite outgoing and friendly, allowing for unexpected new friendships. As far as parties go, the fraternities and sororities dominate that social vein, as they usually are the hosts.
The dating scene is relatively subdued. It's not a rare sight to see a couple walking around campus, but neither is it an expected or required occurrence, though those who are romantically linked with other people are usually involved in serious relationships. Hookups do happen, of course, but they're not something generally advertised around campus.
The best places for students to meet each other are through campus organizations and clubs. Generally, student clubs and organizations draw people with similar interests. Also, many people meet in class by working on group projects together and becoming "study buddies." First-year students often meet in the residence halls and cafeterias.
Anything goes in California, and that applies to UCR dress code. College-aged students are rather trapped in the awkward phase from teenager to adult, and their wardrobe reflects a developing style. Fashion trends exist, certainly, but in the ever-changing weather, comfort largely wins over style. For every person to make a fashion statement, there is an equal number that comes to school in pajamas.
