Advice
- Tucked away between the Aberdeen-Inverness and Pentland Hills residence halls lies the Campus Career Center. Those who take advantage of it find that the Campus Career Center serves as an excellent resource for students. Begin your search early. Create a personal resumé. Take advantage of the availability of the career counselors at the Career Center who will help you with building a resumé and applying for and obtaining an internship. You should definitely attend an internship orientation to discover various ways of finding a job or internship. Register with the Campus Career Center, and allow them to send you information about internships in your area of interest. There is even a place on the internship database for you to post your resumé, allowing companies that may be interested in hiring you to contact you. Keep in mind that it takes time and patience to look through various internships offered. A good place to check out for more information regarding internships is through the UCR Honors Program Web site, at www.honors.ucr.edu.
