College Prowler Take
Depending on the time of year, Riverside’s weather varies. During the fall and winter, rain tends to come and go, and students usually cherish the cooler temperatures. When the spring and summer months come, temperatures rise, sometimes to 110 degrees. Many students cannot take the heat, but, overall, most students are generally happy with the weather and the Southern California sunshine.
Most students go home or elsewhere during the summer, so they don't have to face the high temperatures during the hottest months of the year. The buildings on campus are equipped with air-conditioning, which helps to relieve people from the sometimes unbearable temperatures. Students who love hot weather are extremely happy in Riverside during the spring and summer months. During fall and winter, the weather tends to be calmer. Mornings often start off on the cool side, and then things warm up in the afternoons. Layering is the easiest way to deal with the ever-changing weather. Keeping a lightweight rain jacket or umbrella with you during the winter and early spring months is a good idea because it is very likely for the sky to be clear when you enter class in the morning and pouring when you leave. Freak showers occur more often than most people would think. These extreme changes in temperature occur daily and can become an aggravation, so one must dress accordingly. Essentially, bring everything to Riverside because the weather varies dramatically from the summer and spring months to the winter and fall months.

The weather is excellent. People think Riverside is all smoggy and hot, but it's rarely smoggy and the temperature is very nice in the winter.

The weather is pleasant all year round. In the winter, you can get by with jeans, a long sleeve shirt, and a light jacket. It usually rains in the winter and early spring. In the summer, it is typically very hot, and all you need are shorts and a T-shirt. |
