Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

When students contemplate their overall experience at UCSD, they usually base their opinions around the friends they have made and the good memories they have. Although academics at UCSD are world-class, they are not always the most important factor in the overall experience. Social life at UCSD is known to be a little boring. Many students wish they had a more active social life, but most still manage to find friends with whom they create lasting memories.

After adjusting to life at a large university, students say they enjoyed their time at UCSD and could not imagine going anywhere else. They especially like living in such a beautiful area and attending a challenging research university. Living on your own in college is an invaluable experience and teaches many students just as much as lectures and labs. Most of all, students are appreciative of their friends, and the people they meet have the biggest impact on their overall experience.

Sun God

UCSD is known for many things, but the annual Sun God festival is what brings the university to attention because theres nothing else like it (at least for the UC system) We also have a vast array of art pieces from the Stewart Art Collection including Sun God, giraffe catchers, stonehenge, warren bear, geisel library, and several others.

Safety First

The school always makes it top priority to keep rates of safety at utmost importance. When bad things do happen, campus-wide emails are sent to students and faculty alike, so that notification will keep everyone weary of dangers. There is always some sort of police on campus, and late at night, if one fears to walk alone, you can call a specific number to have a representative from a faculty run program to keep you company and walk with you to your destination.
