Campus Tours

Campus tours are student-led and provide valuable insight into UCSC academics, students, and social life. Tours are usually an hour-and-a-half long and combine shuttling and walking to various locations. Comfortable walking shoes, and layering of clothes is recommended.

Spring is usually the season for checking out UCSC. There are more campus tours, and you can request tours of each college if you know which ones you are more interested in. It is also helpful to simply go to different colleges and try to talk to students about their experiences. Most students enjoying talking about their experience and are willing to show you around. They are really your best resource! To schedule an official tour, call (831) 459-4008 or e-mail ucscvisits@ucsc.edu.

Overnight Visits

UCSC does not offer overnight visits to prospective students, but there are workshops and programs that allow entering freshmen a chance to live in the dorms before school starts. If you are interested in checking out some of the dorms, ask the individual housing office when you arrive. Usually they have an available room to show or can introduce you to a student willing to show theirs. Campus tours also give prospective students a peek at what dorm life will entail.
