The financial aid office was quick with getting funding for me. Although I don't like them automatically going for loans, it's good to know that I have a back-up.

The dorms at UCF are the perfect place to live if you are a freshman. It helps you get to know people and creates an enironnment condusive to new students. The best options are the Hercules dorms for freshman, the worst options are the towers for freshman, as the towers are more secluded and not people are not as invested in social environments as they are in the Hercules and Nike dorms. Utilities are included, and there is a perfect gym available for students to work out at. The cost is slightly pricey but for what you get it is certainly worth it. To apply for housing is easy and convient, but upper classmen are not as likely to get their preferences if they wanted to stay at Hercules or Nike.

Guys & Girls:
The University of Central Florida is a mixing pot of students. We have students who dress to impress always wearing polos or button down shirts. Hipsters are also present, either seen by their band shirts or just relaxing demenor. Girls are usually dressed nicely, and you can tell there is a mixture of athletic girls with their sweats and workout clothes, country girls with their cowboy boots and southern twang, and so on.

UCF is located within a thirty minute drive from Universal Studios and Disney. The school is also located minutes away from a large shopping center that also houses a bowling alley. Laser tag areas are close by, and there are plenty of opportunities for students to get free tickets to events that occur at the arena on campus.

Getting into engineering is easy if you're strong in math and the sciences, otherwise it'll be harder for anyone else.

I plan on going to an internship with Disney next fall and hopefully an engineering company in the future to find out what company is right for me.

I am really enjoying the math and physics courses.

The sheer quantity of housing off campus is mind boggling. There are new complexes constantly popping up off campus and many affordable options. I would still recommend on-campus housing for freshmen.

Almost every major is accounted for at UCF. Engineering and Business are some of the most popular degrees. I am happy with EE.

It's pretty great. I would recommend using them to succeed.

Orlando is the hub of many chain restaurants and Waterford is also one of THE places to go to get food, besides Colonial Dr., Alafaya, and University.

Essentially all facilities are as one would expect of one of (if not THE) largest campus in the nation. There is food to be found everywhere any many services that enable the success of students, e.g. the Writing Center, All Knight Study, the RWC, etc.

It wasn't difficult getting into the Computer Science program. They don't have any special admissions requirements. However, once you are in the program you will have to take what is called a Foundation Exam. This exam just tests what you have learnt from two of the required courses. You must get around 60-70 to pass the exam and are allowed to take it as many times as you need. You will be required to pass this exam before taking the higher level courses required for Computer Science majors.

I really enjoy it. I love programming and I think the University of Central Florida's Computer Science program is perfect for me. I find the work load to be quite time consuming but at the same time I enjoy learning about algorithms and different programming languages. Although I haven't applied for any internships, there are many available to Computer Science majors. The professors for the most part seem to understand the material they teach and are very good at instilling their passion for programming into the students they teach.

UCF has accomplished professors and a great outreach program to help students gain valuable experience in their industry. The campus is also fairly new and always kept very clean.

The Biomedical Sciences major is one of the biggest majors on campus, if you want to go on to any kind of medical school, you have to go through this major. The requirements to get in aren't any different than getting into the university, however I strongly suggest you take Chem 2045 versus 2040 and 2041 and try to pass the Math Placement Test so you do not have to take college algebra, no one enjoys that class. After the first year you are assigned to a counselor in the College of Medicine and they are supposed to guide you in your major courses and help you get into med school.

If you live in florida you know the weather always changes. It can go from sunny to raining in no time. Its nice when living on campus to have a short drive to campus and all classes are indoors. Weather can not ruin the day.

UCF is located in a suburban area so there isn't alot of crime, although the crime on campus is kindof scary at times. We are very close to Walt Disney World, Universal, SeaWorld, and like 5 different beaches. Being so close to Orlando and Tampa, we get a lot of concerts and other attractions throughout the year.
College Sophomore 2013-05-01T00:33:51Z
It depends on when you come to campus. 9am or earlier and your golden. Between 10 and 3, good luck. Plan a good 20 minutes extra in trying to find parking. Park in Garage D if you can! It's almost always the least crowded.
College Sophomore 2013-05-01T00:31:21Z
We're really close to downtown Orlando so there lots of options there in addition to the nightlife at Universal.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
