Most of the "gen eds" that are required are huge classes (100-300+ students) due to that, it's easy to feel like jut a number and not a student. The classes are more difficult than a community college and because of that, it's easy to get behind and do poorly coming from a smaller college. The workload is about 3 hours of homework for every hour of class work easily and because of that, it's hard to put the time and effort in to each class especially with so many activities offered on this campus as well as around it.

Most shuttles that go to the schools are late, and they don't run consistently. Don't always bank on them being the time frame the apartment says (aka every 15 minutes). I was late to class a few times due to lack of room on the shuttles when they finally came to my stop and I had to wait for the next one, or they just didn't come for almost half an hour at a time.

Health & Safety:
Despite a strong police presence, the UCF campus and surrounding areas are not very safe. Every semester there are numerous robberies, vehicle break-ins, and home invasions. It is not very uncommon to hear police sirens or helicopters. This semester a student, who was evicted from the dorms, attempted a mass killing at one of the UCF towers but fortunately was caught in the process and committed suicide. In addition, the roads are terrible and are constantly inundated with heavy traffic and many aggressive drivers. UCF can get crazy.

Financial aid is pretty straightforward. All I have had to is complete my FAFSA form on time, and I become eligible for Florida Bright Futures, grants, and student loans, which are more than enough to pay for school.

Drug usage by students is on average with most colleges and usually consists of drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. The more serious narcotics are few and far between but do occur on occasion.

There is never any parking at UCF, especially in the Nike community. Permits cost hella money just to have to drive around 4 different parking lots to find a spot. There are always places that aren't properly marked so people unknowingly park there and get tickets. You don't NEED a car for driving around on campus because everything is so close knight. There aren't that many parking spaces for the amount of students that attend the school. Parking isn't fun

There are almost always computers available. I know that in the library, there are computers and dvd players and what not available if you rent a movie. There are also a bunch of computers in the printing lab with people there if you need help. The network is quite wonky, especially when everyone is on the internet at once unless connected through ethernet cable. I feel everyone should have a personal computer, but there isn't a GREAT need for a personal printer.

I have only seen the zip cars at 2 locations on campus. I have no idea how to even rent them. The buses seem reasonable enough, however I have heard that they don't show up on time. the on campus transportation costs nothing as long as you have an ID. Long-distance transportation would be excellent. Especially a bus to the beach. It's alright overall, but there is always room for improvement.

There are many diffrent races and beliefs at my school, epecially since this school is very large. I honestly feel like their should be more african american people, even more chinese people at the school. But honestly, the school is very good. Plus, everyone respects each other beliefs.

I think this school is a very good school. They have alot of good food on campus. they always have a healthy options for you to choose from and they have snacks also. The cafeteria is pretty nice but when i ate their i ate at the outside tables. the huge meal plan is a pretty good plan for students who love to eat there.

UCF has great facilities. We have an awesome gym, and a new one that just opened up on the north side of campus. The student union is also really nice. It has a food court, study areas, and also houses a ticket center and the SGA offices. The school really goes out of their way to facilitate its students. Students receive a lot of discounts and services that are very helpful during their college career.

I give off campus housing an A based on the amount of diversity there is among them. You can get anything from a basic student apartment to a fully furnished, luxury style apartment in this area. It all depends on what you're willing to pay. Also, most student housing is fairly close to campus.

Honestly I have no complaints about off campus dining. There are so many different options where to eat in the area and in all sorts of price ranges, so its easy to get a great meal for a decent price. Some good places include the look Chipotle and PeiWei Diner, which is a branch off of P.F. Chang's. The restaurant has quality Chinese dining without the hefty price.

I only give Greek life an A+ because I know UCF has a great Greek program at the school. There are many different sororities/fraternities at the school and depending on which council you rush with, you are pretty much set for a spot in a fraternity or sorority if you really want it badly enough.
However I don't really care for Greek. I don't like what I believe to be a general racial segregation between the different Greek councils. Greeks are generally seen as regular students and participate in normal day to day activities. Not being in a fraternity isn't that big of a deal at UCF as there are many different organizations that you can be apart of there.

Shuttle transportation at UCF is reliable. Shuttle pick up times coordinate with class times and the shuttle is free for students. There are always shuttles running on game days so that students don't drink and drive during tailgating. Sometimes the shuttles do take awhile to depart and arrive at their intended destinations, so it's best to always prepare to leave at least 30 minutes in advance to reach your destination on time.

If anyone were to tell you UCF isn't diverse, they're out of their minds. We are THE largest school in the country and we have people from all around the world enrolled here. Some even from countries I've never heard of before.

Like all colleges, bars and clubs are usually meant for people who are 21 and up, even though you can be in one if you're 18 years old. But UCF hosts a lot of events at their Arena and every Friday there's a mini festival called "Late Knights" where friends can hangout and have fun without drinking or leaving campus.
College Sophomore 2013-04-29T15:42:18Z
The biggest problem on campus is just those who smoke in the plaza walkways. It's not too common though since UCF is supposed to be a smoke-free campus.

Summers can be pretty hot and winters can get pretty cold with the wind. As long as you carry an umbrella around with you in case of an unexpected rain shower then you're golden. Most months out of the year you are able to visit the pool.

student life on campus is okay. There's a green area called memory mall where a lot of times students will go out there to play some sports or sometimes there will be moonwalks and other fun stuff to do over there. There are some campus events created by UCF organizations to have concerts in the arena, or to host a dance event on memory mall. I haven't gone to a lot of them so I can't say much about it but usually those are fun to go to. The student union is a fun place to hang out with friends and sometimes there will be something going on in the middle of the union with some dancers.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
