It rains in florida a lot durring summer and fall. It si to be expected but UCF has many options for transportation. Most of your classes will be in the same vicinity based on your major however.

I am a Marketing major and have been extremely satisfied with the professor knowledge and energy for my 3000/4000 level courses. They truly make me feel that they care about my knowledge and retainment of information not for just my graduation but for my future career and success. Dr. Messiah is such an available and energetic teacher she will make non marketing majors reconsider!

UCF does make student verification a bit of a pain but if it is done directly through the IRS link site which they give you a link to, I have found this to be most simple. They are after that very proactive about applying scholarship funding you qualify for without you having to fight for it or make several submissions/emails/calls. I do not know that I would rank them as an A but surely a B+

UCF has the second largest student body in the US. They offer a wide variety of programs and degrees and have excellent learning options from a local regional campus if you do not live in orlando or near main campus. They offer an excellent video stream option for many courses that allows working students to watch lectures at a convenient time and take tests in a window of a few days at a regional or main campus. I feel the teachers there are very dedicated to student success and not just teaching as a requirement of their research as an employee of the university.

Guys & Girls:
I just started at the university and most of my classes are online or big classes where I don't have any individual time with them. In the classes I have been in so far, my class mates seem respectful and are really into their studies.

I chose to be a Social Work major because I am passionate about helping others. My only concern is that I may have difficulty finding a job without my masters degree. My overall goal is to earn my masters degree in Social Work so I can become a professor or a clinical social worker and help others cope with mental disorders.
College Senior 2013-04-24T02:50:16Z
The process of getting into my Social Work major was not that difficult. I Had to write a personal statement about my background and why I want to be a Social Work major. After I sent in the application, I had to make sure there weren't any holds on my account by providing documentation and proving that I was a citizen. The final step was to meet with an adviser to discuss my plans for my career.

I am a Social Work major and I am extremely satisfied with my classes. The Social Work professors are extremely passionate and the classes really help prepare you for a career. Taking classes on site can help you get acquainted with others that share the same interests.

UCF campus life is exceptional. There is always something to do, and it is always safe. Dorms are spacious and close to most eating establishments and events.
College Senior 2013-04-24T00:23:24Z
There are a variety of options for students to eat on campus. The food is high quality and is accessible to those with or without a car.

At UCF there is always something to do at night and the scenes are usually safe and fun!

The weather in Orlando Florida is very inconsistent. The sun could be shining one minute, then moments later rain will pour for half an hour, and soon after the weather could call for a jacket. All I have learned from my campus experience is be prepared for anything!
College Sophomore 2013-04-23T23:08:50Z
The local weather rarely affects my day-to-day experiences at UCF. Sometimes the rain is aggravating but it is Florida so the rain, hot and humidity is a given here. I'd just recommend getting a rain coat and boots for rainy days that you have to be out and about. Also if the weather gets bad, or there is a weather alert UCF will keep you updated, be sure to sign up for their emergency text messages and emails.

I came to UCF because of the reputation of its College of Education and so far I love the courses that have been offered in my major. I take a lot of online courses and haven't had a bad experience yet. I have liked all of my classes thus far except for one. The courses that are Gorden Rule are very rigorous in writing, online and in class, but this is the intention of the Gordan Rule component. Most of my courses have their tests and quizzes online which I think is the Best Ever. Now with the new webcourses we use here at UCF your grade is calculated automatically, assignments are shown, professors can comment on your assignments and emailing your professors is easy. The professors I have had are very helpful when you come to them. In exception, I have had only one professor unwilling to help his students. Look at rateyourprofessor.com so far it has been VERY accurate with all of my professors.

The UCF campus is modern yet homey, in my opinion. Every building is beautiful and clean. Always lots of places to go, lots of places to sit, and places to eat that are nice. The only issue I would say is that there aren't a lot of places to plug in your computers. So if you want a plug, get where you're going early! I also LOVE the reflection pond it's very relaxing and is a nice place to study if it's nice outside. The Student Union is also an awesome place to go. There is always something going on there with clubs and organizations, music, fun, and food as well as study rooms, lots of seats and tables and just an overall amazing atmosphere with friendly staff.

I'm not a full on party girl but I like getting out and UCF is a great place for this! There are lots of bar options close by that aren't too expensive and almost always have a fun atmosphere with dancing and great music. You can always pre-game at a friends before you go or get drinks there. I love that the bars close by are so close, some at walking distance! And I love that its mostly all college students! You meet a lot of people and it's super nice to get out somewhere that you don't have to drive to! But if you are up for the drive the downtown clubs are amazing too! Party Buses are offered that pick you up right off the UCF campus, take you there and bring you back for $10! I'd say partying in Orlando is easy and always a good-time!

Considering I am a student in need of financial aid, I have received a good amount from the school or they have been offered to me in loans. I have been chosen for verification every time though which is very frustrating. You have to stay on top of it for sure and be sure to constantly check your financial aid accounts and details. As long as you stay on top of it you will get your aid. But the financial aid office isn't a very friendly place. Not sure if it's just who I've worked with or not but I prefer to just call and deal with the issues over the phone. They are helpful and get things done if you are persistent and know what you are talking about.

It doesn't seem strict to me because I generally follow the rules. They do adhere strictly to their policies.

All the professors are different. The curriculum offered is great. The registration process is quite simple. The workload will vary from professor but it generally increases as you get into your upper level courses. They also offer SI sessions for most of the Gen Ed classes.

They're okay but since but they don't perform well enough to be a threat to the more established teams.

It's a college town so there are clubs and places to have fun near campus. You also have clubs and restaurants dowtown. The good malls are about at least a 20 minute drive though. Also Disney and other theme parks are not to far away.

It's a heavy workload so you have to manage your classes carefully. Most of the internship and job opportunities are for environmental biology. Also the upper division electives aren't always flexible enough to where you can take classes that would be interesting to you. Sometimes they don't offer the electives you need or would like to take.

The only time there might be a challenge finding computers is during finals week when there are more people than usual on campus. Printing on campus is very easy especially since there are two printing labs where you can print for free.

Many of the professors could do a lot better at helping students learning. Also some of the advisers don't have the information they need to do their job better. I say that because a handful of advisers are amazing but many only have basic knowledge, which you can get to on your own. In addition this could just be in my major department (biology).
College Senior 2013-04-22T18:43:53Z
I am in the Interdisciplinary Studies program at UCF and it is a great program. They have their own website and events with a lot of great information included in them. They even have their own advisers for the program.I really like that you get to pick a major and two minors for this program. It gives you a little bit in each area and makes for a well-rounded degree. There are always e-mails going out from the program advisers about meetings and opportunities.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
