Student life on campus of University of Central Florida is superb, the university is extremely modern and seems like a small city all on its own for the many students residing at University of Central Florida. The library is a place often visited by many students and contains a plethora of knowledge available for the students to explore and there is also a plaza where dining places and bookstores are located.

The students at University of Central Florida are concentrating on the academics and events that the university provides, there is no place for profane things such as drug and alcohol use. The no-drug and no-alcohol policy is very enforced at this grand university.

The dorms aren't great and feel small, but they are still a decent place to sleep and study. And they are close to the campus and it won't take you long to get to the class

I got the financial aid that I needed, though the office didn't provide that much help when it came to it. They just leave it to the students to figure out for them selves

It has a nice, well maintained campus with all around classes, and the buildings provide good internet service. Walkways are crowded and filled with people, and you will have to dodge oncoming bikers and skateboarders.

Don't know, the greek life seems normal to me. I've never interacted with them so its hard to say.

The shuttles could be better/faster. They are not always as reliable as they could be, but they're still not bad. Also, KnightLYNX and the airport shuttles are awesome.

The area around UCF is above average for a college town. There are multiple grocery stores right around campus and some shopping plazas are only a 15 or 20 from campus. There seems to be one of every restaurant around campus so there is always somewhere to eat. What many people do not realize about UCF's location is that it is not very close to the theme parks and attractions. With good traffic, it is a solid 30-45 minute drive to get to Sea World, Universal, or Walt Disney World. The area around UCF is contemorary and clean but can have more of a mature, suburbian, feel rather than that of a true college town. The downside to the UCF area is that students heavily rely on car transportation to get around town, to work, and to classes that are located off campus. With so many students driving, the roads can be crowed and dangerous.

Guys & Girls:
there is a wide variety of people. anything from farm kids to surfers to activists and preps. a lot of them come because it's Florida, and you can generally tell who's a native when it gets cold

there can be quite a lot of peer pressure to drink and party, whether it is to prove yourself an adult or part of the frats. I don't think it is any better/worse than other colleges

Florida has it's bi-polar moments but most of the time it's okay. Always, always, check the weather and carry an umbrella would be my advice.

I'm a minority and I haven't run into any problems with a lack of acceptance. The school is the 2nd largest in the country but it's predominantly white. There are tons of clubs though that cater to a wide range of people; supporting those different beliefs, ethnicities, religions, political beliefs, sexual orientation, etc.

Health & Safety:
Tons of emergency stations everywhere. Police ride around on bikes at night. RHAPs and RAs do rounds to make sure students around the housing communities are safe. SEPS give students rides or walking escorts around campus on sunday-thursday 7pm-1am if they feel unsafe.

Getting into the forensic science program was very easy there was no application or anything like that to get in I just had to regester with my major and that was it.
College Senior 2013-03-05T01:37:06Z
Some of the professors in the chemistry/ forensics program are really good professors, and some of them are horrible, but there are more good professors than bad. Just make sure you talk to other people in the program and use rate my professor so you know what to expect.

The campus is pretty diverse and there are several clubs that cover many different diversities. So if your looking for people that are of your religion or race there is probably a club for it.
College Senior 2013-03-05T01:22:16Z
I'm a forensic science major at ucf, our major is very small an I know all of my professors for my major classes. They have all worked in the field and grade fairly.

Guys & Girls:
The girls wear extremely provocative clothing, gives off wrong signals to the guys. The guys typically wear khaki shorts above the knees, boat shoes, and sunglasses around the neck. Many like to go out to the clubs and parties. Many interested in clubs, frat and soriority events, and athletic events.

Some of the food choices are decent, but others are have pretty poor food conditions.
College Junior 2013-03-04T22:47:44Z
They offer a few scholarships, but they don't make them known to the students on campus clearly, and they are difficult to obtain.

The Greek life is incredibly supressed due to the constant hazing and alcohol related accidents.
College Junior 2013-03-04T22:36:22Z
The campus housing is adequate but there are many shootings at off campus housing
College Junior 2013-03-04T22:35:21Z
There are a ton of high and drunk people in the classes and i don't understand how none of the campus officials notice.
College Junior 2013-03-04T22:33:02Z
There are many different cultures, creeds, beliefs, and races at UCF and the actively attempt to incorporate each into events.
Recent Alumnus 2013-03-04T21:56:36Z
I am not a minority (I'm a white, hetero female), but I have many friends who all come from different racial, sexual identity, and social class backgrounds. Everyone seems to fit in very well and I have never heard someone say they felt discriminated against or unwelcome at UCF. We have many, many student organizations and a lot of them are geared specifically towards minority populations.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
