City like but very good places to eat and shop and such. Awesome way to hangout with friends and keep good grades, no parties though.

They are good, but not excellent. I would say it is okay because they do have some options but it is kind of spread out.

Orlando is a big city with so much to offer. Downtown is only 20 minutes away by car, which offers a cool bar scene. There are also neighboring cities such as Oviedo and Winter Park which have great restaurants and farmer's markets. There are also theme parks such as Disney and Universal which are close. UCF is known to provide discount tickets to students and alumni.

There are many apartment complexes within minutes of campus, and new ones are being built regularly. They offer comfortable living spaces and provide additional amenities to students such as: printing labs, shuttle service to campus, a pool, a gym, and study lounges. However, some off-campus housing sites have the reputation of being unsafe for students.

The drug scene at the University of Central Florida is pretty much non existent. I have never seen drugs on school campus. Their is campus police visibly everywhere on campus. I have seen alcohol in parking lots on campus but not often.

Orlando is the ultimate travel destination but also home to the University of Central Florida. Orlando is know for major attractions such as Disney and Universal Studios. Our campus area is very clean the only bad thing is traffic due to the tourists visiting nearby attractions. Valencia College is right next store and also a regional campus for UCF. Valencia was named the top Community College by the Aspen Institute.

Alot of online classes that can either be a great thing for you if you are organized or a terrible thing.

Guys & Girls:
People here are really nice and willing to help whenever you need, and they are always interested in making new friends. They are really friendly and do the best they can do to be a good friend.

There are hundreds of restaurants in the area. There is a huge variety of styles as well as cost and all can be found on one street connected to the campus. However, none are a comfortable walking distance and many don't offer student discounts

The campus is centered around the student union. There is plenty of green spaces and UCF even provides a free gym open nearly 20 hours a day everyday. The campus is continuosly improving the buildings. There is everything you need on campus. It is like city in a campus. There are always activities to do and organizations to be a part of starting from day one of your college career.

UCF has a required short course on drug/alcohol safety for all new students prior to your first semester. UCF is primarily a smoke-free campus with a few students to the exception. Drinking is more common on the weekends depending on who you hang out with.
College Junior 2013-01-23T22:20:02Z
UCF provides many internship opportunities with nearly all the major businesses in the Orlando area. The campus is centered around the Student Union making everything at least a 10 minute walk from anywhere on campus. The downside is that UCF is always under construction somewhere on campus.

It does rain like typical Florida weather; however, the campus is compact more than other universities. The university also provides a small bus that travels throughout the campus from the dorms.

Nursing is my major, I love helping people and making a difference. The program is not hard but it is demanding and you have to stay on pace or you can get behind easily.

We're literally 30 minutes away from Disney World and Universal Studios so...I can safely say that you will never be bored. For those unable to leave campus, there are always activities to attend and things to do on campus as well.
College Sophomore 2013-01-23T18:16:59Z
The campus is very diverse but of course as with most universities, there is a blaring white majority but this is not unexpected. There do seem to be a lot of LGBT students compared to other universities though and economic backgrounds are very diverse. Political beliefs are also quite diverse, the campus is not as liberal as you might expect but in my opinion, diversity is good so I'm not bothered by it. Most people don't tell others what religion they are so...I can't really comment on the religious diversity here.
College Sophomore 2013-01-23T18:11:00Z
The Marketplace and Knightros get really boring after a semester or two. I don't suggest getting a meal plan for more than one year. The on-campus restaurants are okay but can be tiring as well.
College Sophomore 2013-01-23T18:09:30Z
Guys & Girls:
There are guys of all kinds on campus. You have army guys, nerdy guys, jocks, etc. There's a guy for everyone. I can say the same for the girls but most are either already dating or not interested in dating at all.
College Sophomore 2013-01-23T09:04:57Z
There are so many differences in race, ethnicity and culture throughout UCF student body. The Professors too (which is not always a good thing because of their accents)
College Sophomore 2013-01-23T05:05:50Z
The parking permits cost a fortune!!! and since campus is a huge circle with all the buildings in the center theres no guarantee that you will get a space in a garage or if there is even a garage by your building.
College Senior 2013-01-23T01:35:32Z
It's generally pretty warm and humid but not all the time. It actually does get cold here in the winter, which is nice considering we're in Florida. Hurricanes might be the only downfall, but those don't happen too often and if they do, class will just be postponed.
College Senior 2013-01-23T01:31:42Z
UCF campus police are a bit of a pain and they're pretty mean but just try and keep your head down and you'll be fine. If you do get caught doing something, it's pretty serious. Word of advice: don't carry around your open containers on the way to the football games. The cops are everywhere.
College Senior 2013-01-23T01:16:46Z
I came to University of Central Florida because I was accepted into their traditional BSN (nursing) program. It's a 2-year program with acceptance conditional on completion of a list of prerequisites and general education classes which take about 2 years to complete. I'm in my second semester now and I love it! The clinical experience so far is amazing and the teachers are top notch. They have amazing work histories and there's a teacher from every background if you want advice from someone with whom your goals as a future registered nurse align. The classes are very challenging and your day will begin and end with nursing, but it's so worth it. Our NCLEX pass rate is above 98% but you'll be way more than competent to take the test.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
