I have not had an internship yet, but am thinking about having one later in my college career. I think that UCF makes it fairly easy to find internships.

I've enjoyed my experience with the College of Sciences so far. Being in the Honors College is really a plus - I feel like I wouldn't get as much out of my education if I was not in honors. My only problem with UCF is their study abroad program; there are no study abroad programs for physics majors through UCF, which for a large college was disappointing.

Health & Safety:
I have rarely felt unsafe on UCF campus. There are rarely any crimes, and security is always available. I especially love the emergency posts and security assistants available to walk you to your car at night.

Parking at UCF can be a hassle sometimes; you just have to know the times that are best, and there are many garages available. Permit costs can be a little pricey, but I would suggest getting the all year permit, which saves you a little more. I have never been ticketed or fined so I am not sure how those work out, and rarely have I yet to see anyone be ticketed or fined. With the shuttles and other forms of transportation like bicycles and skateboards, there isn't really much of a need for a car on campus unless you commute.

I have yet to have an internship at UCF, but I hope to have one. this way I can gain experience in my field of study, which is Bio-medical Sciences. I am a little concerned about finding an internship as I am just beginning my major. I have volunteered at hospitals before and had a part-time job once, but aside from that no other experience.

The weather is moderate, never too hot, nor too cold. Classes are rarely cancelled, and even when it rains, it isn't too much trouble to get to class as long as you have an umbrella, sneakers, and a jacket.

Florida weather is AWESOME. The coolness of winter is just cold enough, but not too cold. The summers are kind of hot and the rain does tend to mess up your plans. Keeping an umbrella in a handy location is definitely a good idea.

There is a lot of parking, yes. However, there are also a lot of students attending this school. There are specific times that it is IMPOSSIBLE to find parking on campus.
Early morning and late afternoon to evening (around 4:00) it is very easy to find parking spots. Any other time, it is nearly impossible.

The local area has a lot to offer. From malls, amusement parks and night clubs, there is always something to do. There are often local activities such as outdoor movies and dance raves.
The safety is somewhat questionable. There have been several shootings in the past few weeks. I have never felt personally unsafe, but it is not very comforting knowing there are people getting shot just around the corner.

Like many universities, drugs and alcohol are visible in daily life. The exposure you receive is based off of who you are around and what kind of people you surround yourself with.
Personally, I have only heard and have never witnessed drug use on campus (other than alcohol).

Mine as well sleep, waste of time and fails your grades...

City like but very good places to eat and shop and such. Awesome way to hangout with friends and keep good grades, no parties though.

They are good, but not excellent. I would say it is okay because they do have some options but it is kind of spread out.

Orlando is a big city with so much to offer. Downtown is only 20 minutes away by car, which offers a cool bar scene. There are also neighboring cities such as Oviedo and Winter Park which have great restaurants and farmer's markets. There are also theme parks such as Disney and Universal which are close. UCF is known to provide discount tickets to students and alumni.

There are many apartment complexes within minutes of campus, and new ones are being built regularly. They offer comfortable living spaces and provide additional amenities to students such as: printing labs, shuttle service to campus, a pool, a gym, and study lounges. However, some off-campus housing sites have the reputation of being unsafe for students.

The drug scene at the University of Central Florida is pretty much non existent. I have never seen drugs on school campus. Their is campus police visibly everywhere on campus. I have seen alcohol in parking lots on campus but not often.

Orlando is the ultimate travel destination but also home to the University of Central Florida. Orlando is know for major attractions such as Disney and Universal Studios. Our campus area is very clean the only bad thing is traffic due to the tourists visiting nearby attractions. Valencia College is right next store and also a regional campus for UCF. Valencia was named the top Community College by the Aspen Institute.

Alot of online classes that can either be a great thing for you if you are organized or a terrible thing.

Guys & Girls:
People here are really nice and willing to help whenever you need, and they are always interested in making new friends. They are really friendly and do the best they can do to be a good friend.

There are hundreds of restaurants in the area. There is a huge variety of styles as well as cost and all can be found on one street connected to the campus. However, none are a comfortable walking distance and many don't offer student discounts

The campus is centered around the student union. There is plenty of green spaces and UCF even provides a free gym open nearly 20 hours a day everyday. The campus is continuosly improving the buildings. There is everything you need on campus. It is like city in a campus. There are always activities to do and organizations to be a part of starting from day one of your college career.

UCF has a required short course on drug/alcohol safety for all new students prior to your first semester. UCF is primarily a smoke-free campus with a few students to the exception. Drinking is more common on the weekends depending on who you hang out with.
College Junior 2013-01-23T22:20:02Z
UCF provides many internship opportunities with nearly all the major businesses in the Orlando area. The campus is centered around the Student Union making everything at least a 10 minute walk from anywhere on campus. The downside is that UCF is always under construction somewhere on campus.
College Junior 2013-01-23T22:16:03Z
It does rain like typical Florida weather; however, the campus is compact more than other universities. The university also provides a small bus that travels throughout the campus from the dorms.

Nursing is my major, I love helping people and making a difference. The program is not hard but it is demanding and you have to stay on pace or you can get behind easily.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
