Always have games going on and encourage students to get to know each other at recreation center!

The difficulties for my program came when I started the upper level courses in Psychology. There is much about the human mind that is very difficult to explain and understand no matter how good of a teacher you have. It takes a lot of practice and you must spend a lot of time reading the materials. The most important criteria was GPA. As far as I know there was no abnormal application process and if I was to offer any helpful tips for admission I would say do your homework and manage a high GPA all throughout your academic career. Every grade counts at this level.

I am very happy with my program. I am in psychology and the tools it has provided me with is extremely important for my career goal of becoming a clinical psychologist and helping victims of sexual slavery. My only concern with finding a job in my field, which I hope to be overseas in India is raising support. I will not be making any money because I will be coming alongside missionary organizations and helping the victims for no charge.

The teachers are very helpful is making each major feel like a close community. I am majoring in psychology and want to use that to later earn my doctorate to help victims of sexual slavery in India. My wife and I hope to move there after my schooling and live there as missionaries. The teachers at my university have a true passion for learning and have created a very difficult yet fulfilling curriculum which pushes me to new heights daily.

The humidity and heat in Florida is terrible and the University does not have any opportunities for shade. Florida is also a state where it rains quite a bit and without having any coverings for students to walk under we are left with no choice but to experience the elements, good or bad.

Florida weather at its most typical: crazy. Sunny one minute, pouring the next, who knows?

Lots of decent restaurants within walking or short driving distance from campus.

Most Off-campus housing complexes have shuttles that run directly to campus and it is MUCH cheaper than staying in the dorms.

UCF is located in the town of Orlando. Trust me you will have plenty of options when it comes to off-campus dining. Maybe even too much options.

Florida, I believe, is a major center cultural diversity. This is especially so at UCF. I recently moved here from the Tallahassee area, as I was planning to attend FSU, and can honestly say I feel more at home here than anywhere else in Florida.

Its a great area to be in. Downtown Orlando is like a 20 minute drive and all the theme parks aren't too far either. Its also less than an hour from the beach. They have a lot of shops and restaurants in the immediate area as well.

I am an Interpersonal/Organizational Communications major. I haven't taken many classes for my major yet. However, I know they have a lot of internships available for Communications majors.

Since UCF is in Florida, its usually sunny and warm. However, it does rain at least a little bit almost every day until about November. It doesn't get too bad, though, if you have an umbrella.

I personally don't use UCF's transportation because I live on campus and have my own car. However, I know that there are always shuttles running on and off campus that will take you to most off-campus student housing and popular shopping centers.

Off campus housing is affordable and affiliated with on campus housing. This makes payment easier, the financial aid can be dispersed to pay for rent. Also, the shuttle system is ver reliable, so I have heard. I have many friends that live off campus even though it's our first year.

I received all of my financial aid at one time. Many students struggled with having to refile tax documents and the lines in the financial aid office are very long. Communication with the financial aid office is slow.

I have a meal plan, although the food is good and they offer variety; I still find myself buying food on campus.

I believe that school spirit is at a high, but it could be better. Although tailgating is a big part of sports here at UCF, the actual number of people attending games is low.

Since I own a car I don't need to use the transportation available on campus, but I have friends that do. They have shuttles that pick up and drop off throughout the day/night to all of the nearby apartment complexes as well as to places like grocery stores and plazas.

UCF is a beautiful campus in Orlando, Florida. I think many students, especially native Floridians choose to come to UCF because of the many attractions, including Disney World, that are in the area. On top of that, UCF has a diverse set of academic programs. For me, I am taking advantage of the Pre-Professional advising on campus because I will eventually apply to vet school. This office is so helpful in making decisions and they help you in terms of what to do to be accepted into professional schools especially those in law, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, etc.

I love the campus life here at UCF. There are many resources available around campus that are conveniant and sometimes free for students. There are many dining options around campus. The Library is very large and has a lot of resources available. Our recreation and wellness center is state of the art and there are group exercise classes available for students as well. The student union or "the heart of campus" has many study spots, places to eat, free printing, and so on.
College Sophomore 2012-12-17T16:02:36Z
I have been at UCF for two semesters and I don't find it to be very strict. I have only seen one obnoxious case of the police force when an officer was yelling and following students for walking before the crosswalk sign said go. Besides that, I have not witnessed any other strict policies being enforced.

The places are mostly chains. I wish there were more mom and pop places.
