Orlando is a very lively city . Because the area is a collge town there are towns of "cheap " appartments compared to the housing on campus past a student's freshman year. Shopping plazas are all over the place. A good number of students don't have cars and can still get around easily mostly using the school's shuttle which also runs to a few off campus housing locations. Universal is not too far away and there is plenty of night life for college students.

The dorms aren't bad at all and you have no energy or water cap. The internet is nice and it is super nice to be on campus.
College Sophomore 2012-12-12T23:08:45Z
There are many different places to eat off-campus. Every street has somewhere to eat and you can find many different food genres

The campus has so many students and parking is terrible

UCF has a strict policy when it comes to school rules or addmition. However, this strictness is fare to all students. They will tell you about all the rules and policies when you first come and would give you a good reason why they apply those rules. Being here for almost three years now, I would say eventhough it is strict but it is fare.

Health & Safety:
At the campus of UCF the police officers are always present, no matter where you go, they are there. Some time I would stay very late at night working on some assignements, and walk on-campus and I don't feel unsafe at all.

Computer labs are awesome! They offer tons of expensive programs, and there are so many labs available on campus. Some are just for printing and others are major specific.

Student like at UCF is great. There is always something going on on campus from events to free things at the student union. They are constantly renovating to make our school look the best!

I love the local town and atmosphere. There is so much to do in orlando from theme parks to downtown it is just a good time.

UCF has some of the best dorms i have ever seen at colleges. Most of the "good dorms" are reserved for upperclassmen. Its almost as if the underclassmen get the bottom of the barrel but at UCF freshmen have nice dorms as well !

Campus food is pretty good! They have many restaurants on campus that are extremely reasonable in price. I enjoy eating there!

I haven't heard of any incidents related that violate the drug safety here at UCF.

Im not exactly sure about the drug scene because I am not really involved in it. I do know that if you are caught the consequences are severe.

My major is Political Science Pre-Law and I have had the most interesting experiences. There are many opportunities with work, internships and jobs within my program. You get to know the faculty on a personal level and they really have your best interest at heart.

I live in Knights Circle and I have had some experiences with a bad roommate, but I can say that Knights Circle handled the situation really well and I was very impressed with how much they really care about their residents and their safety and comfort ability. I also love the location at which this residence is located. It is so convenient for the residents who do not have vehicles because they are right in the heart of many restaurants as well as Wal-Mart and Publix within walking distance. The rates and really good and the amenities are also perfect. Shuttle is the most frequent out of all the other off-campus residences. I love where I live.

They have a no tolerance policy for traffic violations, violence, cheating, bullying- you name it. This is the safest campus imaginable. With over 70 police officers and security guard on the clock at all times, 24/7, there's no way anything gets past them.

Being in Central Florida means you had better be ready for some heat! The campus is warm most of the year. Expect showers almost every single day from May to September. Also, don't forget about hurricane season. If you're from out of town, make sure you are at least a little prepared by having flashlights, candles and some rainy day entertainment just in case we get hit.

Guys & Girls:
There is such a wide variety of students here - the mix never gets boring. I have lived by this university for many years, and trust me, there is always something to do thanks to the mixed student body. Everyone is pretty laid back, and the atmosphere around campus really reflects that.

I'm at the University of Central Florida, and for the pre-med programs, it's okay. People are willing to help, especially those in the honors college.

UCF has a variety of programs of study as many of my friends have a variety of majors. There are great opportunities for academic advancement with internships, study abroad programs and on campus training. The staff is very supportive and once you understand how the registration process works it's pretty painless 95% of the time. I've had a good amount of work but UCF is supportive and encourages me to do well in school while balancing involvement outside of the classroom. Depending on your area of study, you can experience a variety of outside the classroom learning because of UCF.

Drugs aren't prominent on campus, it mainly depends on who you're hanging out with. It's not prominent on campus but it does exist if you look for it. UCF is a wet campus so they allow alcohol on campus for game days and tailgating. UCF works to eliminate underage drinking as campus police monitor students who may be under 21 or drunk and become a disturbance or a danger, however responsible drinking is not heavily weighed down on.

Greek life is not dominant at UCF however they do make an impact on campus. They participate in philanthropic events for both UCF and other Greek organizations and they donate their time and money often. Overall, they are accepted in the community although there are some students who don't view Greek life as a positive attribute. Although they don't receive 100% support from other students, the university supports them and works closely to make sure they follow all rules set and are a positive contribution to the community. There are many Greek Organizations on campus, mostly sororities, but UCF is working on expanding not just Greek Life but also Greek Housing. We are currently building two new houses for the upcoming year.

There are many local restaurants near UCF, both fast food and sit down restaurants. The pricing is usually reasonable as it is located near the University, however because it is also a residential area some places might be more expensive depending on your financial places. There are student discounts at some restaurants and many local places offer coupons frequently. I eat off-campus very frequently and there's always a variety from American to Italian to Chinese to Mexican.
College Junior 2012-12-08T01:19:22Z
UCF prides themselves in being so diverse. We have students from various backgrounds, religious beliefs, political beliefs, ethnicity and sexual orientation. Although there are international students, they don't make up a huge part of the student body but there are more than average. UCF also has many clubs and organizations for various religious groups, political parties, sexual orientations and more. It is a diverse and accepting campus as our diversity if what sets us apart from most colleges.
