Registration is kind of tough, there are many students, teachers are pretty tough, but that's college.

I chose a major that offers quite a bit of uncertainty in the job market, but sociology was of great interest to me so I went for it anyway. I know that I can always fall back on teaching or counseling if I am unable to find a job that is more in line with my expectations.
The one thing that is mildly frustrating is that the core classes are only offered during fall and spring terms (one term, not both) and that the classes are quite limited as far as how many and what time.
Outside of that, I have many options for non-core classes and am thoroughly enjoying the diversity of courses I can take.

There are many great options for undergraduate majors as well as an impressive list of graduate majors.

Varsity sports at UCF is very important to the students. We might not be ranked right now but we sure do have pride in our team. The football games are full of school spirit. I really am sad when I have to miss a game due to work. I will always support my UCF Knights!

Our academics are pretty good. Though, I have had one or two not so great professors. I've learned that many of our professors like to just read their power points and not really teach.

Florida weather is definitely not the best, especially in the fall. It rains pretty much every day starting in the spring until the winter. It can be really stressful when you have to walk around such a large campus. Definitely invest in an umbrella and rainboots, they are very popular!

Guys & Girls:
Everyone is very fun and willing to meet new people. Everyone is constantly venturing out to parties, clubs, and becoming more involved which is a nice thing to see as a change from high school.

Very good school, encourage student involvement and really make it apparent to show how students lives of the weekends can venture past drinking and smoking.

My forms were lost a few times when the disbursements were made, but the office was pretty friendly in helping me. I would recommend checking emails and the website constantly because it was difficult to figure out when I needed to pay for everything.

Health & Safety:
UCF is an amazing school and I have never felt unsafe or uncomfortable there even late at night, I know that if I ever need help or I feel uncomfortable walking to my car, help is always nearby.

The only issue I had was when it was pouring down rain and I had to walk across campus to my next class, I was soaked but my laptop got wet so that upset me.

Police pretty strict on many things including small stuff

Some good, some bad, for the most part, the old ones are pretty good, put have a strange smell to them

I dont break the law in any way so Im not sure if they are stict or not. If they are strict on one thing its academics, if a teacher catches you cheating you will have severe consequences which is to be expected. They also expect their students to keep a 2.5gpa. I have never received any citations for parking for parking on the yellow lines or anything. There are a good amount of police that drive around the streets but thats a good security feature.

The Off-Campus dining options are not very good as UCF is right on Alafaya Trail and there Is not much to be seen on that road. If you want to find a nice resturant you will have to find your way downtown and in the heart of Orlando. I would recommend just staying on campus to eat if a fast meal needs to be had.
College Senior 2012-10-07T22:51:14Z
UCF has great variety of food available for students. I have been in the Market place many times and the food is always hot and fresh. For the price of what you get no one can complain. The seperate fast food resturants in the student union are ok, but they are expensive. UCF is a big campus and I have to applaud them on where they decided to position the fast food resturants and The marketplace. They actually have two maketplaces. One on each side of campus, close to garage B and another one is near the arena. I have yet to go hungry on campus.

I dont party so I dont know much about the night life, although I do know a few friends that do party and they seem to have alot of options available since we are in orlando. There are always those house parties but you can also go to the clubs in downtown orlando which can be nice. It just depends on what you want to do here in orlando while going to college. I prefer staying in to either study or work. Sometimes I like to go to car meets and here in orlando there are car meets everywhere at night so for that I will rate orlando as a A for variety.

Being In the college of engineering and computer science for the University of Central Florida is wonderful. They really make you feel like your part of something bigger. they set up events to help you succeed and all my professors have helped me achieve something in some way.

I did not receive as much financial aid as i wished because i missed a couple deadlines. In order to get my financial aid through i had to drive to the university from home ( a three hour drive) multiple times.

Since it's the biggest in Florida we get a lot of facilities for free. The gym is nice, and there are always sports to go to. There is also light up UCF in the winter which is awesome!
Sorry, there are no reviews.
