The student life on campus is great. There is always something to do. The gym is huge and has so many great resources. The libraries also have plenty of books that are used in class and tons of computers. The writing center assists students with all type of writings and the campus events are a lot of fun.

I'm not really familiar with any type of drug and alcohol visibility. I spend most of my weekends with my family or studying.

Health & Safety:
I feel safe on campus for the most part but I have heard some disturbing stories of students who have been robbed on campus. I have never had anything unsafe happen to me, I hope it stays that way.

I came to the University of Central Florida because of their English department. They offer a writing center which helps all students become better writers. The writing center helps students with resume writing, conducts mock interviews and so much more. The class size is also small, so students have the opportunity of having more one-on-one communication with their instructors.

There are several off-campus dining options like Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesday's, Tijuana Flats and more. The cost varies depending on what is ordered. A typical meal costs about $12 or more. The places to eat off campus are very convenient and close by. However, not many places offer student discounts. The best place to eat at is Tijuana Flats!

I'm in the College of Arts and Humanities. Everyone is very helpful in the English department. I am an English major with a Technical Communication track. My adviser has provided me with different job opportunities, which have helped me become aware of all of my options. The teachers are also great and willing to help you reach your highest potential, however the workload may be challenging at times. I have also been provided with different internship opportunities which I am excited to start.

UCF has a "wet campus" which means that alcohol is allowed on campus, but only to be consumed and help by someone of the legal age. Drugs is not permitted on campus, it is illegal and therefor not allowed. This year UCF became a non-smoking campus, so no type of smoking tobacco, or any other smoking paraphernalia is allowed on UCF grounds.

Student involvement is great at UCF, students go tailgating almost all day before a football game, show their school spirit with Black and Gold, and on homecoming week everybody goes all out! Basketball games is another one of our packed athletic student events! Everyone who doesn't have an exam the next morning is at the athletic events.

There are plenty of parking garages on campus, but depending on your class time you might want to come a little early to ensure a good spot, and to take time to find a parking garage with lower floor availability.

UCF is known for it's diversity, anyone and everyone who wants to expand their horizon is here. UCF has many clubs and organizations for people to join, and they're just as diverse as the people here. Every ethnicity and almost every nation is recognized here at UCF. We do not judge here!

Health & Safety:
UCF is a very safe campus, I have never felt unsafe. There is always police or security walking around campus making sure everything's under control. Emergency e-mails and texts are received if there is suspected danger.

Kobé Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar my favorite! Entree's cost from $15-25. A little pricey but totally worth it. One of the best places to eat! Sushi Hi is pretty good too, they will make ANY type of sushi you desire and it's fresh. Lechonera is a Puerto Rican place with great food and prices. I got a ceviche and a drink for $6.00. Highly recommend these places.

I have NEVER seen drugs when I am on campus. Alcohol is visible but not much on campus. It depends with what group you are hanging out with really. If your friends drink there is a higher chance you will do it as well.

There are so many sports at UCF. If there is not a team established, it is also very easy to create a team. The football team is very successful. There are varsity sports and junior varsity sports to choose from.

The most common transportation at UCF is the bicycle. Many people commute, however the campus is very large and if you are staying on campus, chances are the walk to your classes will be very long. If you stay off campus, may apartment homes offer a shuttle bus to campus which is very convenient.

UCF offers a variety of classes that are fantastic. The general education program, however, can be challenging. If it is a class you do not like along with a professor you do not care for the class can be very challenging. The most helpful thing to seek out is some of the resources offered at the university such as tutoring, this can be a life saver.

I am in the college of Education and I enjoy it very much. The teachers are passionate about what they teach which gets passed down to the students. I am an Elementary Education major and I love all of my classes, and most of all I love working with children through the University.

They did just close a big plaza where there was a lot of partying, but they are opening new ones. And there's downtown always. But it's still pretty good.

There are a lot of options, and they have new ones every day. Luxurious to not so much, expensive to cheap, there are many options.

There are a lot of opportunities, you just have to look, but they are everywhere

Registration is kind of tough, there are many students, teachers are pretty tough, but that's college.

I chose a major that offers quite a bit of uncertainty in the job market, but sociology was of great interest to me so I went for it anyway. I know that I can always fall back on teaching or counseling if I am unable to find a job that is more in line with my expectations.
The one thing that is mildly frustrating is that the core classes are only offered during fall and spring terms (one term, not both) and that the classes are quite limited as far as how many and what time.
Outside of that, I have many options for non-core classes and am thoroughly enjoying the diversity of courses I can take.

There are many great options for undergraduate majors as well as an impressive list of graduate majors.

Varsity sports at UCF is very important to the students. We might not be ranked right now but we sure do have pride in our team. The football games are full of school spirit. I really am sad when I have to miss a game due to work. I will always support my UCF Knights!
College Senior 2012-10-08T23:51:18Z
Our academics are pretty good. Though, I have had one or two not so great professors. I've learned that many of our professors like to just read their power points and not really teach.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
