There's tons of shuttles to off-campus housing. On weekends from 8:00pm-3:00am there's Knight Lynx which is a shuttle service to either around campus hotspots or to Waterford Lake Town Center, these are free when you show your UCF id. But you definitely need a car to get around anywhere. Zipcar is $10 an hour (or $60 for the whole day I believe), and from what I hear parking is a pain. So beware, parking and transpo is a huge problem here. Not a fan.

Parking permits are expensive and it is hard to find spots on campus.

The computer labs at UCF are very up to date and reliable. It is always easy to find one to use.

The off campus housing is nice, but way too expensive. I had to take out two loans to pay for housing alone.

Guys & Girls:
UCF is a very diverse community. There are many races as well as cultures here. Although the dominant race is caucasian there is always someone different on every corner.

There are many classes to chose from and most of the professors are really great but you can't solely depend on them. In order to be successful here you have to play a part as well. Staying on top of all course work is the most important part, that includes studying, going to class, and completing all assignments.

There is always something going on around campus for the different athletics, especially football. Many people are allowed to volunteer at the events as well. We have many workout facilities to get the players ready and the school community as a whole serves as a huge motivation.

Registration for the University of Central Florida can be a real pain sometimes. There are just so many students that often times the classes fill up too quickly. I have heard it only gets worse as you go through school and many friends have spoken of not getting into classes they need to graduate and gradutating later because of that.

I am in the College of Engineering and Computer Science. The education is great and the professors are all great and very helpful. The advisors are knowledgable and available a lot if you need to talk with them. The workload is large but that should be expected for engineers. Plus there are many opporutunities for interships and such.

Police are strict at the games, and especially during tailgaiting. No underage drinking, and they will card you if you are even near alcohol. Parking is a pain and they are very strict about parking where you are allowed. Make sure that you are parked in the right area. They are out there everyday ticketing so be careful.

There's apartments and houses everywhere.. so many different choices all within only a few blocks from the school!
College Junior 2012-09-23T20:23:52Z
There are a lot of different people from all other, not stereotypical at all

Being in Central FL, you tend to get the best of both worlds, during the winter and spring the weather is great, sunshine all day everyday. Come summer though, you generally have sunny mornings, and rainy afternoons; you have to be prepared all the time.

The varsity sports at UCF are treated very well, and even more so when it comes to intramural sports, this creates a community that wants to participate in sports.

The transportation system of UCF is great, there are many different buses with many different routes that go around the UCF area to various housing areas and even the mall near campus. In addition to the many routes they run from very early in the day to very late.

Classes don't get cancelled due to the weather unless it's a very strong hurricane, and those are rare. It rains quite a bit here too and, because of awesome construction and layout, the school floods every time you get 1" of rain or more. When it's not raining you can expect the temperature to be at least 85 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer and around 50 degrees during the winter. Lots of people hang out outside on clear days at least.

The school processes your FAFSA quickly and it tries to give you as many government sponsored scholarships as well. I've been able to attend school for free until this year because of it. The reason this year costs money is due to federal changes in financial aid eligibility that magically knocked me out of receiving a certain grant.
To get the best out of financial aid, fill out the FAFSA. After that, look at the financial aid Web page and look for other scholarships to fill out. Apply to as many as you can and remember that the least anyone can tell you is no. If all else fails, you can take out a loan. Try to leave that as a last resort, if you can. Go for subsidized loans because the government pays your interest while you attend school.

I absolutely love the UCF campus. The grass is always green, the students overall seem very friendly, events occur quite often at school, its just a great environment overall.

It took a few visits to get my financial aid approved because I was applying for instate tuition, but other than that the financial aid office is very helpful. Just drop in and they will gladly help you!

Health & Safety:
I always feel safe at UCF. There are emergency communication poles everywhere I look. I see some sort of security every time I drop by the school. The school security sends regular emails to aware students of any occurrences in the area, and what to watch out for.
College Senior 2012-09-22T01:05:25Z
UCF is great about getting your financial aid in hassel free and they have many grants
College Senior 2012-09-22T01:04:10Z
UCF is a very moder and clean campus. We literally have the best and biggest gym I have ever seen which encourages me to work out. Plus, there are computers and free printing throughout campus.

The didning options are very good because there are so many options. The thing is that an average meal will run you about $7-8 which is something to be careful with if you are watching your wallet

I definitely plan on having an internship, I'm hoping next semester or over the summer. I think that internships help someone get real world experience in something they're interested in and lets them get their feet wet to see if that's what they really want. My main concern is if I find what I want for the semester I want to do it during, and if it is paid or not.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
