DELICIOUS FOOD EVERYWHERE! There are a lot of chain restaurants (Chipotle, Steak N' Shake, Ale House, etc.) around UCF but the best restaurants are the smaller unknown ones. Everything is relatively cheap ( I mean every restaurant knows its a college area) and restaurants are very easy to get to. I personally love the Mellow Mushroom because they have hands down the best pizza I've ever tasted! UCF also has clubs and bars right off campus so if you're old enough, those can be a great night out!!

Many Options Available – I commute every day to school which can take its toll on a person but I just recently started taking the shuttle from the Rosen campus to the Main campus and I'm in love!!! It only costs 5 dollars for the year to park at Rosen so clearly that's extremely affordable and the shuttle service is free!! UCF also provides shuttle services to grocery stores, malls, apartment buildings, and even to the Disney Theme Parks! Transportation around UCF is great!

Health & Safety:
I Feel Completely Safe – • I take a lot of night classes and I'm the student who waits until 11:59 pm to finish her test in the testing lab so I have a lot of experience with UCF after the sun goes down and I can honestly say that I have never felt like I was in danger while walking around campus. The university has emergency buttons you can hit every 100 ft. or so in case you do ever find yourself in a situation. UCF also always has police cars patrolling the outer skirts of the campus and has security officers riding around on golf carts patrolling the inner parts of the campus. UCF also provides students with a number to call if they ever need a ride back to their car or to their apartment if they feel unsafe. Overall UCF is extremely safe and I haven't had a reason to feel as though something was going to happen to me.

It's Amazing Here! The best part of UCF is the variety offered to students! There are thousands of clubs to choose from, from Habitats for Humanity to the cereal club, you are bound to find an organization that fits you perfectly. The variety of classes you are able to take is also phenomenal, if you feel like you are taking on a really heavy course load one semester, you can just take a yoga class to add a change of pace to your hectic study schedule. Everything about UCF is fantastic, the campus is beautiful, the professors are brilliant and kind, and the students will go above and beyond to show their school pride. I couldn’t have picked a better university to attend! Go Knights!

On campus I feel completely secure, campus police are always around and student crime is always down.

Drugs Are Not Hard to Find – If you are looking for drugs, you will find them. If you live in the apartments near campus, there are usually parties being thrown and you can really find a party on any day of the week and you can see the use of drugs and under aged drinking going on. Cops come to disperse the party after awhile but I have never heard of anyone getting arrested for being at the party.

Really, the number of homosexuals or even bisexuals is pretty high however in the case of racial diversity, the university is predominately Caucasian but every race has their own club so you wont be alone if you are a minority.
College Senior 2012-08-22T02:17:28Z
Reasonable for the Most Part – If you plan on taking a math class in the summer, think again! I tried that an I am an excellent math student but the work load expected from you is ridiculous and unrealistic in my opinion, however during the year, the work is very reasonable as long as you are organized.

With that being said, you can expect to have to fight for parking or at least drive around for a while before you can find anything. The best thing to do would be to not even drive, if you live off campus, there are free shuttles that drop you off to campus every 15 minutes. Take advantage of that.

Poor Advisers, Amazing Profs – I'm an Art History major at UCF but was previously interested in UCF's technical theatre program. The advisers for the theatre program are rarely available (they were not available for my orientation, my friend's orientation, and do not consistently return emails). I started working on an Art History minor and since switched. The department is very small, but the teachers are all very knowledgeable and passionate about Art History. My sister, an Industrial Psychology major, has had better luck with advisers in her department (PSYC is one of the largest departments on campus). All of her teachers have been just as friendly and helpful. The Writing Center, Veteran's Affairs, and Library also always have someone happy to help you.

Young Town – There is a bar called the Knight Library just off campus. While they have an adequate number of bouncers it still gets really rowdy. Most of the off-campus apartment complexes have someone throwing a "rager" on any given night. A private company charters buses to take customers downtown to hit several of the clubs. There is a lot of drinking, however, if you are 21 or older you are almost too old to be going to the parties around campus. If you want to go to a club with real music and dancing, head away from the campus. If you just want to drink a lot of alcohol you do not have to travel far.
College Junior 2012-08-20T23:07:18Z
Extremely Diverse – As I said before, the styles at UCF are all very different. Because there are many different races that attend my school, they all have different styles. UCF welcomes all students and Florida, north and south, has all types of races which makes the students on campus very mixed. No matter what color, everyone accepts you. It isn't even a question of what color you are because nobody really thinks about that. Everyone is very friendly and is used to the diversity so we all mix without question. There is no avoiding any particular race or ethnicity.

There's Always Something – Most housing, including off-campus affiliated housing, is very accessible. Shuttle buses come about every 15 minutes to each housing facility and they drop you off at the heart of campus so it may only take a maximum of about 10 minutes to walk to your class from there. If you're living on campus you don't even need transportation because everything is in walking distance. There are many other UCF buses that travel besides the shuttles and those are free as well. Even late nights there are party buses that can transport you from downtown back to campus and vise versa.

Health & Safety:
I Feel Safe – At UCF we are constantly aware of any crime that occurs anywhere so that we may avoid any dangerous areas. Also, almost every corner you turn you can find a police car on patrol and "emergency buttons" you can press in case you are alone in an area at night and something happens so the police can come right away. Campus crime is minimal but when it occurs it is always gets solved within a few days and things go back to normal. I have never felt unsafe at my school.

Guys & Girls:
Everyone Is Unique – Everyone at UCF has their own style and I love it! There are different genres of people in a way because the school is very diverse and there is a place for everyone. Many of the guys are very cute and according to my guy friends, the girls are too. In my opinion we have very good looking students and they're also very smart as well which makes the students here very well rounded. Frat life and sorority life are pretty minimal here unless you're actually in one. Mostly on the weekends people go to clubs/bars and during the week is when most of the studying gets done. I like it here because it is very easy to build relationships with all of these people.
College Senior 2012-08-20T22:36:47Z
Sometimes Very Difficult – As being one of the most populated schools in the country, there is a lot of people and a sometimes almost impossible to find spaces, it all depends on the time. However there is always construction expanding the school.

Admission Into Health Science Is Easy – This past semester I switched into Health Sciences- Pre-Clinical from Molecular Biology and Microbiology and the process was a breeze. Definitely see an advisor if you're switching though. Any challenges that might occur would be if the advisor doesn't believe switching is the best decision for you. Other than that, all I had to do to switch/declare my major was apply for it online through MyUCF. You can also go to Milican Hall and fill out a "declare a major" form if you don't want to do it online or find it confusing. I believe there is a minimum gpa and I think it's the UCF minimum gpa, so if you're in overall good standings with the school, that shouldn't be a problem.

Labs Are Extremely Crowded – Printing and computer labs are always in use by an abundance of students. Lines may require that you wait for up to an hour before being able to use a computer center.

Rainy Conditions – It rains a lot but classes are usually not cancelled and professors still expect you to be on time for their classes.

Always Something – Right around campus there are lots of clubs and hookah lounges not to mention bowling alleys and other fun things to do.

Drugs and alcohol are of course prohibited from school but just like anywhere else if you look hard enough you'll find it. There is no peer pressure towards it but if you like that sort of thing then you easily spot it.

Campus Shuttles – Transportation around UCF is best done by campus shuttles. There are different buses that bring you all around the surrounding UCF area. Not to mention they are free! For further areas outside of the surrounding area the Lynx public transportation is always a good option. $2 for a ride and there are routes all over orlando.
