Criminal Justice – I love my degree and classes and instructors. All you have to do is pay attention and ask questions if you don't understand.

Under Construction Forever – UCF is always renovating or building new things to enhance the school as a whole.

Everybody works together, we always cheer on each other. Everybody is involved in the sports.

Lots of Things to Do – The nightlife at UCF if awesome for those who like to drink as well as those who don't. There are plenty of bars and clubs in close proximity of the campus, but UCF also sponsors a program called Late Knights which gets students together in a non-alcoholic atmosphere that is pretty fun.

21+ Places Most Fun – If you are of legal drinking age, Orlando is definitely a great place to enjoy the nightlife. Downtown is always fun, and even the UCF local bar scene is decent. House parties are usually iffy, because unless you know the person hosting, you may get kicked out because people like to keep the amount of attendees pretty low.

The labs and printing are decent...you are allowed a certain number of free printing in certain labs. Unless it is mid terms or finals, the availability is usually pretty good. Speed and internet access is pretty good as well.

Greek life is overrated at UCF. If you are not in a fraternity or sorority you are not viewed as cool or uncool. It is a status thing, but students are so busy with other things that you almost don't even notice the scene unless you have a lot of friends that are a part of one.

Pretty much all the college parties you go to there will be consumption of alcohol. especially, during football season when everyone's tailgating. by the time the game ends you can see mountains on beer cans stacked in Memory Mall.

Only a Few Good Places – There's only a few places on campus that is worth it, but the downside to that is there is usually a very long line. If you're in a hurry then there are places where you can get a quick meal but it doesn't taste as good.

Since it's Florida, it's hot majority of the time. We have a spot called, "The Breezeway", even though there's not much of a breeze. All the buildings usually have their temperature set around 70. It's a drag when an air conditioner breaks in a classroom.

Depends on the Day – Computer labs do get very full during midterms and finals, however usually there's at LEAST one free computer somewhere on campus. WiFi however, at least at the Rosen College is tricky. It's been going in and out for weeks before I left for summer. UCFWPA2 gets kinda tricky to log onto, and WiFi is not available everywhere on campus, and lounges get full quickly.

Choose Wisely. There are a lot of sketchy places in Orlando, that's just how it is in any sort of metro area. Your best bet is to a plan a house party. Although there are some fun and entertaining clubs, it's better to invite people that you know or at least someone in your group knows.

Pretty Diverse – I've always thought that UCF was quite diverse in terms of its students and staff. I see people of all different races every day that I am there. My freshman Composition professor disagreed, saying that sure there are different races represented on campus, but about nine out of 10 people here are white.

Lacking Fun Hangout Spots – There are a lot of nice places to eat around UCF, but as far as recreation it is harder to find something to go out and do. There are some nice parks that I have found over the years, and there is always bowling or a bar, but the main attractions of Orlando are theme parks, which are expensive and about an hour away.

A Lot of Activities Never Get Bored – orlando is a major city there is something to do for everyone

To Strict About Simpl Rules – Not a big fan of on campus housing. There is to much drama going on and all the RAs are always bothering you

It's Great! UCF was built around being an engineering school and providing workers for the space programs. The Humanities aren't as well-developed, however I've had great experiences in my major. We don't have our own building and the Humanities offices are as old as can be, but the professors in the English program are great. I find that they are inspiring and helpful. We have small classes and the professors really try to get to know their students. They love helping. They beg you to e-mail them and come to office hours. They're also very flexible. They let you have as much control over your work as you want. I always feel like I'm primarily learning about Literature, but secondarily picking up a lot of great life skills.

Have Patience – Dealing with financial aid can be difficult. The office handles all 50,000 students. It will be busy, they will deal with you quickly, and they probably won't be nice about it. If you have a problem, DO NOT WAIT. They are too busy to deal with last minute problems. However, they get things done. They have a very helpful website and they send you reminders. Just remember that we have one of the largest schools population-wise and there aren't always a lot of scholarships and grants to go around.

SOOOOO HOT – I mean, it's Florida. The sun is hot and bright. I can't walk to class without sunglasses. It might sound fun, but it's not cool to be running all over campus carrying your stuff in the heat. When it's not sunny, it downpours. There are a few months when we all wear rain boots and carry umbrellas everyday no matter how nice it looks. The weather changes very rapidly. It's either always raining or a drought. There won't usually be one random rainy day. Overall though, we aren't too affected by the weather.
College Senior 2012-08-12T23:10:35Z
Doesn't Happen Much – Sometimes people smoke, but I've never really seen any other open drug use. I've never heard anyone talk about it either. There was a girl who died recently after leaving a frat party. The last I remember, drugs may have been involved.
College Senior 2012-08-12T23:08:21Z
Could Be Worse – I've never had a meal plan because I didn't feel that it was worth the cost. I have, however, been in the dining halls anyway. The food can be very hit or miss. When you go there a lot you end up eating a lot of the same things. There are plenty of restaurants and fast good places on campus, but their hours are dreadful. If you're hungry on the weekend or at night then you stay hungry. The prices are also awful. Any university stores charge way too much money for a simple sandwich or yogurt. The restaurants don't have any real deals either, aside from meatless monday. There are a lot of coffee places though. 6 that I can think of right now. The campus is also surrounded by good places to eat.

Health & Safety:
Comfortably Safe – UCF has a police station on campus and emergency button stations all over campus. They go to great lengths to make sure that residence halls lock. They also have escorts that will walk you around campus if you feel unsafe for any reason. However, we are in Orlando. It's not the safest general town. The area surrounding campus can be a little scary, including a lot of the off-campus apartments. It's also a completely open public campus. Anyone can come in at any time.

Yes, I really enjoy it! It's a lot of hard work but it is worth it.
College Senior 2012-08-12T18:05:31Z
the apartments are nice in the area. Most of them range from about 500-700 dollars per month though!

Over 400 people apply and only 120 people are accepted. One has to have a MINIMUM gpa of 3.0 and MINIMUM TEAS test score of 74% to even apply.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
