The non-dining hall food options on campus are not bad. Qdoba, Subway, Starbucks, etc. are all there, so there are options. I can't speak for the dining halls because I've never been to them.

Computer Access – The computers at the library are reliable, and theres usually plenty open to use, except during finals and mid-terms. The wi-fi signal has good strength, and you can access it anywhere on campus. The use of a personal computer is not needed for most classes, and some professors do not allow you to use them during classes.

I would say that house parties are better then the club/bar scene. There free and you can make your own drinks. If you do want to go to clubs I would suggest going to downtown Orlando to wall street. Its one cover to all the bars on that street, and most have drink specials.

The hospitality program at UCF is a good program to consider. The fact that it has a seperate campus allows for the student to get to know the professors one-on-one, and give a more personal feel to the school, while still feeling apart of the UCF experience. The professors are knowledgable, and have real life experience.

Elementary Education – I am just staring out in the college of education and it is a great experience. There are so many resources to help you and the staff is dedicated to helping you succeed as a teacher.

There is so much to do at night around campus. You have your local bars that are always packed and then a more classy scene downtown or by Disney and Universal. The prices around campus are so great!

Perfect Place to Attend College – This is the best place to attend college! There is so much to do and the education is off the wall good.

Great Night Life – There are many places to shop and eat around the campus but the night life is great! There are plenty of local bars and restuarants that are open late to drink and not far away is Downtown Orlando and City Walk.

Pre-Nursing Program – Since I'm in the pre-nursing/ pending nursing program I have pretty general classes. But the classes will help me with test such as the TEAS test which some nursing schools require a student to have when applying to their school. The workload is pretty much what you expect in college, there are times when you really have to put all your time into studying.

For me to recieve my financial aid it was a semi stressful process, only because I was choosen for verification. I had to overnight all my paper work to make sure it was actually getting to the office but once I recieved my aid I was happy.

There are many majors at UCF, however the nursing major is very competitive and therefore they have very high standards and strict numbers of how many can be accepted into the major. Therefore it causes us students who are trying to pursue a nursing career to apply to many other nursing programs.

Football and Baseball Are at the Top but Basketball Is Lacking. Football and baseball are the top sports at UCF. While the basketball team lacking in some areas, the overall atmosphere in the arena is great.

The College of Engineering and Computer Science – I would have to say that the College of Engineering and Computer Science is great aside from the quality of some of the classrooms. Some of the rooms in the older buildings are very outdated but the quality of the education is excellent. Career opportunities and scholarships are readily available and they make a great effort to connect the student with them.

There's Something for Everyone – The professors are passionate about what they teach and truly know what they are talking about. There are several course options and something in every subject. The registration process for classes is very simple and straight forward; all you have to do is go to the page online in your myUCF and choose which classes you want. Business and Psychology are very popular majors. Most freshmen will take SLS 1501, i like to call it the freshmen seminar or introduction class, freshmen are only allowed to take this class and I definitely recommend it.

Get Involved! In Orlando there is so much to do, aside from the amusement parks that are very near by. On campus there is something to do everyday, there is something for everyone. There's a club for creating clubs. With a population of 60,000 students, there is no doubt there is extreme diversity and no one will feel alone. Getting involved on campus is the key to having a great time, but there will always be something to do off campus as well.

Fresh Air and Beautiful Vistas. The very first thing that attracted me about UCF was its beautiful open campus. It is far from a cramped and gridded campus that you might see at other universities. The circular design along with paths that are maintained with excellent greenery offer a welcoming feel and easy access to any facility on campus. Arguable the best hangout spot on campus is the Reflection Pond where students can lay back on the grass and relax in front of a magnificent fountain accenting the entrance of the campus library.

Excellent Opportunities for Career Development. I would like to describe the incredible resources available to students in the career development area. I was able to acquire an internship through the help of one of the UCF programs and there is always people to aid with resume building and networking. UCF is really concerned with developing students for the industries they're in, not just handing them diplomas.

Come Experience It Yourself! Students who have come and gone through UCF will all tell you the same thing, you will never forget your time spent here. You will make several friends that you will hold on to for life and gain experiences that will change you forever, good or bad.

Advisers Truly Make Sure You're on the Right Path – I am a nursing major and the advisors that I have been associated with love their jobs and will do anything to make sure you are continuously on the correct path and make sure you remain there. They also offer several resources for internships and future jobs.

Plenty of Differences and Plenty of Love. From what I have seen on campus I have come to the conclusion that UCF is a very diversified campus in many areas than just ethnicity and race; it is diverse in nearly every way. There are always information tables set up for groups on campus that welcome students to learn more about political groups, religious culture, different music and art styles, and so much more. The response to this atmosphere is generally very accepting and respectful from every party.

A Cutting Edge School – UCF loves to stay on top of technology and having the best facilities for their students. I can admit that maybe we lack the school spirit the older schools in the area do such as FSU, UF, and UM but we are in the top five in the country as far as student population go. Our student body is really active in causes ranging from political and social to environmental and health. I love the feeling I get walking around the campus it's beautiful and the people know how to have fun. Maybe we don't have the best sports team but game days are still awesome. The student housing in the area is great lots of swimming pools and recreational and wellness facilities.

Shuttles Are Always Late – The University has shuttles to all the student apartment complexes but they are never on time and I often wait 30+ minutes for them.

Some Rain – Rains a lot during summer and late spring but usually perfect weather.

The Scene Is Currently Undergoing Changes. The popular places that existed right across the street from campus ("Fubar", The Library, The Dungeon, Deko, Underground Bluz) are either being shut down or relocated due to the plaza being turned into a student housing development. If you go a couple miles down University Blvd, you can find a Buffalo Wild Wings, World of Beer, Tilted Kilt but nothing really like a dance club, just mostly bars. There are still plenty of good parties to attend though.

Health & Safety:
A Safe Area. I've been attending UCF since '05 till the present ('12) and Ive never felt unsafe while walking around on campus, even after night classes that ended at 9 or after basketball games... There are plenty of emergency posts where all you have to do is hit a button if any situation does arise.. There isn't a lot of security guards around but I really can not think of any incidents on campus that would warrant an increase of their presence. They do provide numbers for security escorts and safe rides if you feel the need for one.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
