Its Florida – The weather in the mornings is beautiful. Its almost always sunny with a nice breeze going. The only problem is Florida is known for afternoon thunderstorms in the summer. They typically last about half an hour max. Most students and people on campus know this and are use to it so events and activities are usually scheduled around it. You'll always see joggers, bikers, and skaters on campus. Many students go and lay by the fountains between classes. The weather is just awesome and the views around campus make it even better.

Guys & Girls:
Lots of Diversity – There is someone for everyone on campus. With so many students you have plenty of different styles. I give it a B because some of the greeks are really into themselves and it can be annoying at times. There attitudes make them unattractive. It is only a small group of them though in a certain house.

Get There Early – Parking on campus is a knightmare. There are about 8 garages and numerous lots but with a school of 50k+ students it can take up to an hour to find a spot depending on what day it is. If you can help it don't even try to park on campus the first week if you aren't there by 8:45 am or after 4pm. There are numerous shuttles that run to different apartment complexes and you can park in visitors parking without any one asking questions at most of them.

Pretty, New, Fast. The computers on campus range from desktop, to plug your laptop into a big screen and go work in groups. They are everywhere and easy to access. Quite a high tech school!

I Feel Smart Already – I've learned a lot going to UCF, I don't feel deprived of knowledge or that I'm not getting my money's worth. Many of the professors are brilliant and fun- some are even cute! They make learning far more interesting.

They Can Be Expensive – Let's face it, housing it expensive. However, for a couple hundred to a couple thousand more a year and you can actually get your money's worth. Private bedrooms, private bathrooms, full size kitchens, and living rooms. Some even come with a balcony!

Getting Into Engineering – I did not face any difficulties trying to get into my program, I signed up as a freshmen and got in right away, really not that hard, exept for the calculus classes, those are somewhat hard at UCF.
College Senior 2012-08-08T23:50:00Z
Relatively Cool People – The policies at UCF are pretty straight forward: don't cheat, don't drink on campus if you're underage, respect the students and professors around you. Basically, as long as you do what you're supposed to do at college (study, engage in the programs provided and attend games), life is good.
College Senior 2012-08-08T23:47:14Z
Nothing Like Engineering – There is nothing like engineering at UCF, if I was to start all over again I would still choose to be an electrical engineering major. My goals are to engage in as many internships as possible while attending UCF and graduating with a bachelors degree in Electrical engineering with over a 3.4 GPA. I do not have any concerns at the moment about finding jobs, since orlando is full of engineering facilities, such as Siemens " across campus", lockheed martin etc...

They Are Everywhere! There's buses and shuttles that travel all over campus and the area's surrounding them. Some buses even go to downtown so that students can enjoy the club scene or just enjoy a night on the town.

Being an Engineering Major – Being an Electrical Engineering major at UCF is amazing! a lot of opportunities and fun. The professors are welcoming and willing to give students research opportunities.

An Amazing College Life – The Nightlife at the University of Central Florida is amazing, since local bars and clubs are across the street and transportation is not an issue, entrance is usually 18+ so there is not much to worry about, and for those that are 21+ drinks at the bars around campus the are best, very cheap.

Internships and Oportunities – The chances of getting an internship in almost any field is huge at UCF, that is because we are a very large campus and because of the reputation we have built in the past years, companies in the area are looking specifically for UCF students. the pay rate depends on the field and the position. Having an internship requires a lot of commitment and responsibility because it is very hard to handle classes while working. I myself work as a Student assistant on Campus and even that takes time and dedication from me.

There Are a Lot of Different Food Choices on Campus. I have attended 2 other large colleges and UCF by far has the best options for dining on campus. Not only are there a lot of places on campus, but there are a lot of place right around campus as well.

Some Sororities/Frats Are Good, Some Are Bad – Greek life isn't huge at UCF but it's definitely there. There are common stereotypes for every sorority and fraternity. Some are well rounded, some are only interested in partying etc. But theres something for every type of person.

I am getting ready to start my second semester at UCF and from what I've seen diversity doesn't seem to be a problem. Due to the large volume on students that attend there are a lot of different races and people of different ethnic backgrounds.

Yummy, but Not Healthy – The food at the dining halls is very yummy. Typical college food. The only problem is, the healthy options are lacking. If you ate there everyday, you would definitely gain the freshman 15 very quickly!

Guys & Girls:
Nothing Special – Alot of the guys here are the type I consider to be "surfer boys". Typical Florida boys. Many of them skateboard, have long hair, belong to a frat, etc. There are the exceptional few that break this stereotype but not many.

Pretty Good So Far – I've been lucky to have some really passionate professors. Of course there are those who are just teaching because its a job. Socializing isn't a must. I'm getting by pretty well as a loner. My biggest complaint is overcrowding.

Good Place for an Engineering Student – UCF is in a good location for Engineering students. A lot of tech corporation are in the area and support UCF.

I've had a lot of professors who are very passionate about what they teach. They make themselves easily available for help. I would give an A if it were not for the overcrowding. Such large classes (1,600 at times) makes the student/professor relationship less intimate.

More Than Adequate – I can always get a computer but I have never needed them during peak times like at finals. The computers have always had the most up to date software and had appropriate internet access. Speed was never a problem and I if I need to print something I have always been able to use the printer in the SGA office.

Never a Problem for Me – I have received quite a bit of financial aid and have never had any problems. The times I had to submit verification paperwork it was inconvenient but not complicated. Financial Aid was always there to answer my questions and help me out. I attend at a regional campus and only once had to go to Orlando to submit paperwork.

Everything around campus is fairly new and has a lot of character. The different places on campus provide students with lots of opportunities and everyone is always very nice and helpful. There seems to never be a dull moment on campus as there are always things going on!
College Junior 2012-08-07T15:52:26Z
Nice Clean Rooms but a Little Crowded – The rooms are nice and clean. They have a housekeeping service that comes in once a week that cleans your floors and bathroom. It tends to get a little crowded if your living with another person in the same room, and the walls are a little paper thin.Downside to living on campus is that there is very limited housing for non freshmen students.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
