Decent Food – The places to eat in the student union are great, with all different types of chains there. However, if you haver a meal plan, you sometimes get tired of the same food being there over and over. They have a lot of the same food everyday, but it still tastes good which is the positive. There are some days though where there are excellent options for the students. Its a buffet style, and if you have an unlimited meal plan, its awesome. You definately get your money worth. The best place to eat in my opinion is the MarketPlace. Also, its not always that crowded which is a positive.

A Ton of Options – Around the campus, there are a ton of choices to choose from for food. There are so many varities and something for everyone, with all the main chains of the country being right there. As for cost, it will range from very cheap to very expensive, depending on where you want to go. But, its just tremendous how many places there are to eat right outside of the university.

Humidity and Sun – Florida isn't called the sunshine state for nothing! Although the humidity can get really overbearing, the sun is definitely your biggest ally and enemy. During summer it is great for pool days and beach days but it also tends to rain a lot during summer, especially in the afternoons. Super sunny one second, pouring the next. During winter, it can get really cold during the night and early morning, but during the day the temperature can reach mid 70s so no heavy jackets! I would say the seasons are just winter and summer because there is practically no transition phase in my opinion.

Fun, but Not for All – I do not like to go to clubs and so for me it is tough to find fun things to do at night. Most college students go to house parties or clubs and so there are plenty of businesses that provide that kind of fun near campus. Aside from that my options are going to the movies, browsing the mall, or hanging out at a friends house. I wish there was more options for people who don't live the stereotypical college lifestyle.

Best Variety! Food is extremely important to me because I love eat! Around the UCF campus there are so many options for you to eat something you're craving. Plenty of mexican food, asian cuisine, pizza from various companies, ice cream, and chain restaurants like Chili's and Applebees.

Varsity sports are a huge turnout, and a wildly fun experience with friends. There is an amazing athletic facility free for all students which includes a gym, tracks, softball/football/soccer/hockey/basketball fields/courts and many more, as well as multiple pools and a rock climbing wall.

Housing on Campus Is Decent, but Not Great – The housing on campus is a wonderful experience, aside from a few problems. The central loction of housing makes for an fun, social environment where you can meet many people, but the overall quality of the actual buildings are meager.

The Process Is Lacking in Many Areas – The universtiy of central florida claims to care deeply about it's students, but the amount of financial aid they offer is far from showing that. After a year on campus, I found countless students unable to afford meal plans, having to go days without a decent meal. Many friends of mine have had to drop out due to rising tution costs with no rise in their financial aid. The service the university provides is very disorganized, they are much more interested in creating a lengthy and difficult process to recieve aid instead of effectively helping those who need it.

It Is Decent – The food on campus is decent, but it's the same thing over and over in the dining halls. In the Student Union, there are many fast food options however which are great!

The Best Grade You Can Recieve – Nightlife at UCF is not as good as it could be, but many people still go out and have fun. If you're underage, there really isn't much you can do. However, as long as you go out with the right people it can be really fun.

For great professors I have ever had, I love to go back to UCF

Crowding During Exams but There's Always Wifi – The same as any other university or college when finals or midterms comes around, it gets packed. At other times you shouldn't have a hard time finding a computer, and there's always wifi if the computers are being used. The internet on the computers are also very fast.

I haven't attended any other universities but as a transfer student from public community college, I can honestly say I've had the time of my life at UCF. Where do I begin, the gym is majestic. All the weights and machines you could ever imagine, an indoor track, all kinds of free classes, and multiple courts. The library is five stories high, you're guaranteed to find somewhere to study. The reflection pond is Beautiful and you can go there at anytime to just relax. There's a career services building to help fix your resume, a writing center where they assist you in writing successfully, a experiential learning center that will help find as many internships as possible. Those are just all the things I can think of at the top of my head. If I were to actually type out ALL the things that make UCF great, my fingers would probably fall off from typing too much. GO KNIGHTS!!!

Off Campus Housing at UCF is convenient and fair in pricing, as it includes utilities, recreation, and shuttles. The quality of living varies though, it is true that you get what you pay for, the more you pay the better the designs of the housing. Resident Assistants take their jobs seriously and seem to build good relationships with students and host great events.

I am living off campus at home. There are absolutely no buses that travel from close to my house. Frequently I receive e-mails about asking if I would use public transportation to get to school. I have no problem with that... My only problem is they expect me to bike ride more than 5 miles every day that I go to school to catch one bus to my school. Ridiculous.

Teachers care, but not all classes offered. I really like going to UCF, honestly, I do. I'm (most-likely) pursuing a double major in Spanish and History. The only issue with UCF is... well, as others have probably stated, it is very hard to get into classes that you need on time. It is unfortunate that one of two backronyms for UCF is: (yo)U Can't Finish.

Shuttle Service – The shuttle service is the best thing ever. It saves you a ton of money that you would spend on parking decals. If you live in campus housing they pick you and bring you back; which is very convenient. If you live off campus there are designated parking lots you may park in and catch the shuttle from the nearest stop. If you ride the shuttle you may have to walk a little further to a building depending on which shuttle you ride. It is really worth the extra walk though.

Sunny State – Florida is known to be the Sunny State so weather at the campus is sunny and warm most of the time. In the winter it is obviously a bit more chilly, and in it rains at times. Other than that great weather.
College Senior 2012-08-03T18:16:54Z
Very Diverse – Living in Central Florida we see a broad spectrum of people. AS a result, UCF is very diverse. There are Caucasians, African Americans, Hispanic, Asian, Middle-eastern, and ect.. There is also a wide range of people with political beliefs but I personally don't see many expressing it.

Friendly Peeps – Everyone at UCF is generally pretty friendly and pretty decent looking

Try to arrange your schedule so that your first class is early in the morning. Anything after 9 am, you're not finding parking!

You Can't Finish – UCF stand for you can't finish and my major is a prime example. Many of the courses required for my major are taught by professors receiving an average of a 1.8/5 rating on rate my professor with a class average GPA of 2.6 or lower... The fact that UCF allows/pays these professors that have a very high fail rate makes me sick. I need a 2.5 GPA to graduate and when UCF offers professors that carry an average on or lower than that makes me lose faith. I stand no chance, I'm never graduating.

It is hard to find parking at the school. You have to arrive to campus one hour - two hours early to find parking before your class.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
