Greek Drinking – Officials are trying to reduce alcohol use in fraternity houses but aren't doing a good enough job. They need to put stricter forces in the houses.

It is generally hot outside, but the buildings are kept nice and cold to ease the heat of outdoors. The campus also has plenty of trees to cover sidewalks leading to the classrooms. Every now and then, we get a lot of rain, which makes it difficult to get to class but many professors are understanding of the conditions outside. You can usually see many students hanging out around campus because of the beautiful sunny days we have.

Being a student at UCF has more perks than I can begin to type. For one, downtown Orlando offers so much night life that it'll take months just to cover it all, but with the new Amway Arena being home of the Orlando Magic and the new ECHL minor league hockey team the Solar Bears, it's becoming a sports haven along with its classy bars and clubs. Locally around UCF, the bar and club scene is phenomenal as I can always expect to have a good time going to the Plaza (Library, Dungeon, Scoop, etc.) and finish off the night with some Lazy Moon Pizza! There are many job opportunities for students within a 10 mile radius of the school and there are an array of different jobs which is very important. Along with all this, the country's best theme parks are all within a 30 minute drive of the school that include Universal Studios, Sea World, Islands of Adventure, and much more!

What Is This Procress You Speak of? Worst experience ever. It was just a huge maze trying to find what had to be done.

Very Pleased With Social Science Education – If I could do it all over again I would not. I've loved my program, and I've loved the people who have been a part of introducing me to the things I need to do to become a successful educator. My career goal is to eventually become a history professor somewhere in South Florida teaching American Military History. My only concern with this is whether or not I'll be able to teach without a PHD, because I don't necessarily want to stay in school for the next 8 years.

Amazing Professors – The professors are my favorite part of being an Education major. Along with that, the internships and job opportunities that come from it are the greatest. If you reflect good work ethic and strong leadership at your respected internships, there is a great chance that you'll be called back for an interview once you graduate with your Bachelor's Degree and your teaching certificate. Along with this, the new Teaching Academy building that was recently built is an amazing building and reflects the time and dedication that UCF has put into its Education programs.

Social Science Education – After finishing the required classes which are most easily recognized as those required to get one's Associates Degree, it is not difficult to get into the College of Education. Some forms and packets, along with having the required classes finished were all it took to be admitted, along with the proper GPA.

Theme Parks and Restaurants and Beaches? Oh My! UCF is about a 30 minute drive from themeparks such as Disney and Universal Studios, and students can even get discounted tickets and annual passes through UCF's ticket office. The area immediately around the campus is filled with fun restaurants that offer student specials. And its proximity to many of Florida's beautiful beaches is a must-have for a relaxing weekend. Love it!

No Exposure – As a transfer student, I have not yet come into contact with any drug usage. The university however takes precaution by mandating an alcohol awareness course that must be completed before the term begins.

Lots of Fun – Central Florida has theme parks like Disney and Islands of Adventure near by. There is also water parks like Wet n Wild. Central Florida has a nice city life. Always something to do. For instance pro sports games, clubs, restaurants, and local parks. There is also a museum that shows Orlando's history in downtown Orlando.

Psychology Major Can Be Overwhelming – At UCF, Psychology is the most popular major, and it also happens to be my major. At a school with over fifty thousand undergraduates, that means huge classes and not a lot of one-on-one time with professors. While I normally don't mind that way of learning, it can be frustrating to not have a close relationship with any of your professors. I am very passionately interested in the field of psychology and I wouldn't change my major for anything. But I am concerned about the demand for jobs in the psychology field being too great for the supply.

Club Scene Is Sketchy – I and most of my friends do not bother with the nightclub scene near UCF. With a huge population of college students, the bars in the area are constantly full of loud kids who finally have their independance and don't know what to do with it. If that is your thing, then the nightlife is great. UCF does do plenty of late night events (including Late Knights) to promote sober ways to have fun.

Lots of Options – I've personally never had a mealplan for the dining halls on campus, but I have eaten there many times. They have an every day menu usually consisting of pizza, sandwiches, salads, and other quick and easy food items. But every day there are a few new and unique entrees to spice things up. The last time I was there, the entree of the day was morrocan spiced chicken and fried plantains. I have even been there when they were serving waffles for dinner! The dining halls are clean and the food is great.

One of the main reasons I chose UCF was the location of the campus. In Orlando, there is so much to do that I can't imagine ever being bored. UCF has a lot of great events going on constantly for students, from free comedy shows to pool parties to Late Knights - an all-night party once a month with games, prizes, and free food. If you ever do feel the need to get away from the college scene, Universal and Disney are only a short drive away. Students at UCF can always find something to do.

Many Ways to Get Around – The parking at UCF isn't always easy to find, so they responded to the overwhelming demand by developing a shuttle service. The UCF shuttles run constantly every day of class to each of the nearby student apartment complexes. They are absolutely free to use and they are incredibly convenient for many students who can't afford to live on-campus but do not have a car. With random heavy summer downpours being a common occurance here in Florida, walking or biking isn't always an option. Earlier this year the shuttle service added a gps tracking website, so students with smartphones can see where their shuttle currently is and when it will arrive.

I live on campus so parking isn't a problem to me, but for my friends who don't live on campus, it's a bit of a pain to them. Most people find parking within 15-20 minutes. The good thing though is your class doesn't have to deal with your parking. A freshman and a senior would still be able to find good parking. Just make sure to leave your home about 30-40 minutes before your class. I would suggest parking garage H, because people are always leaving there.

There are a variety of sports at UCF, but only some of them get a lot of involvement from the students and faculty from the school. It usually the mainstream sports that get it, such as football and basketball. This past year due to a football game everything in the school had to shut down at 12 pm. On game days the students and parents usually tailgate from early in the morning, till the game is over. Usually every week the school is giving out shirts to support school spirit.

English Is Great – I'm an English major and it's fantastic. I would not change a thing. The head of the department is wonderful and easy to reach. The advisers are helpful and knowledgeable and the classes offered are fun and interesting.

Student Involement – Students love to get involved at the athletics at UCF. Whether it's as a member of the team or as a fan, there will always be students in the middle of the action.

A Lot to Choose from – Of course you wouldn't expect a dorm to be so fabulous, byt at UCF they have a lot to choose from. There are some that are more upscale and some that are smaller and older. The upperclassment defnitely have nicer places to choose from, but that only makes sense. A lot of the dorms have a lot of socail activities so you can get to know each other.

Guys & Girls:
All-Stars =] – No matter what kind of guy/ girl you are attracted to, you will find it here at UCF. There is such a diverse body of students that you can always find your taste. whether its looks or interests. Most of the people dress very casual or sporty just because of the Florida heat.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
