Lot of Options – The main campus has plenty of options of off campus housing for students of all price ranges. It is also very convenient for because there are shuttles that pick you up from the apartments.

Not at Main Campus – I go to the Rosen College of Hospitality Management. The campus is great, but there is not nightline. It is apart of UCF, but this campus is 30 minutes away and a lot smaller.

Great Food, Closed During Summers. The food during the regular school year is great. There are regualr items that stay on the menu year-round in addition to special items of the day that change daily. The summer session is different. There is a small coffee shop open at from around 9 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon. They sell bagels, salads, scones, etc, but not full meals which does not satisyfy me.

Lots of Choices, but They Are All Very Similar. There are many choices, but most of the off-campus housing communities are very similar.

Seperate from Non-Greeks, but Large Enough That It Doesn't Matter. Greek life is large around UCF, but non-greeks and greeks don't mix very well.

Guys & Girls:
Plenty of Fish in the 50,000-Student Deep Sea! With a school as big and populated as UCF, I find it hard to believe that you couldn't find your "type".

UCF has over 50,000 students, and that means that there are tons are different faces to be seen every day! I can't tell you which race is most predominant at UCF, as I feel as though I see each one equally. And, if you feel as though your own nationality isn't as noticeable as another, there are tons of nationality-based clubs on campus to join! These work great for wanting to learn about other cultures as well!

Drugs Vary, Drinking Is Popular – Students around Orlando usually go to raves, house parties, and clubs in their downtime where many students experiment with Molly, binge drinking, cocaine, and marijuana. Adderall and drinking have become problems on campus as well, resulting in a student's death, as well as other incidents. The university does enforce the zero-tolerance policy especially after events like this occur, but there is not much internal control. Both UCF and the plaza bars are off Alafaya Trail which is where most students are pulled over for DUI's and similiar offenses because of the "short" drive back to their apartments which can lead to cuffs.

Parking on campus depends on the time of the day you need to park. There are almost 10 parking garages and numerous lots, yet I still leave 30 minutes early from about 2 miles away when driving on a rainy day. UCF is the 2nd largest in the nation, so parking garages are always packed, even with many students skateboarding, bicycling, or taking a shuttle. Parking enforcement is strict and frequent in the garages, ticketing anyone without the proper decal.

Diverse Student Body – There is a huge variety of people at UCF, differing in ethnicities and religions, sexual orientation, economic background, and age. There are numerous international students here, inluding Middle Eastern, Asian, European, and Spanish students. This of course brings a diverse religious population among campus which is apparent when sometimes passing by the Reflection Pond where religious groups and sometimes radicals meet, sing, and speak out to other students. Students are taught cultural diversity and ettiquete in hospitality classes which promotes open discussion among classmates who are varying in ethnicity/race, economic background, religion, and educational background. This diversity helps round our university and keep it interesting because some people who grow up sheltered learn about their peers in a respective way.

Cheating Precautions – The testing in large lecture classrooms are under detailed survaillance. Professors sometimes take photos of the class on camera phones to be sure a student does not return to a later scheduled test. Also, the professor has up to three teacher aides walking around and readjusting the seating between students as some students finish and leave because tests are in a pattern based on colored paper. It is understandable that the university wants to be credible and takes cheating seriously, but these precautions can sometimes make it difficult to concentrate during a testing environment.

Very Safe – Considering how big the campus is, it is protected

There are so many different options to choose from it's great.

It close to campus, there are transportation options, and high security. Of course a lot of fun and diverse music.

The campus is so large and filled with so many diverse people. Most dress culturally, or with the latest trends. It's interesting to see how creative things get.

NIGHTLIFE HERE IS GOOD FOR BOTH 21+ AND UNDER. COULD BE BETTER
College Senior 2012-07-03T15:36:57Z
It's Decent – I do see a lot of people form different backgrounds. UCF is very diverse

Could Improve. It could be better. The food is too expensive for a typical college student. I think they are targeting the wrong customers. Perhaps they should open a restaurant at Disney. Tourists don't mind spending extra dollars on their vacation.

Like most areas in Florida you're gonna have rain at times. Sometimes for long periods of time. The other thing to worry about is the heat. Certain times of the year it will b so hot and humid it's difficult to remain outdoors for very long. These are things i am familiar with, and they don't bother me a whole lot, however i can see people from up north having some problems with this type of weather.

Health & Safety:
UCF is an extremely safe place to be in my opinion. I have never felt threatened or unsafe. I have not experienced crime in any way. The school has many emergency poles in place, not to mention police who circulate the campus. If that isn't enough, there is a service provided over-night that allows students to call a number and have a lighted golf cart come and deliver you to your destination.
College Junior 2012-07-03T14:02:39Z
Work Hard, Play Hard – Like any other University, you can't just coast and expect to get by. UCF has earned a reputation for having very difficult undergraduate classes, and it is well deserved. The classes are difficult, but all one needs to do well is focus on education rather than social experiences. The area and campus are outstanding for college students and the school has many programs to help students succeed. Overall UCF is a fantastic school and place to be as a student.
College Senior 2012-07-02T19:16:29Z
Okay Experiences – Off-campus apartments near UCF are reasonably affordable on a college/scholarship budget and almost always available. Every complex is willing to help you look for a roommate, which is sincerely generous. There's accessible transportation from almost anywhere and nearby food and attractions. Decent parking depends on the apartment, but I've never had bad luck with that.

Financial aid needs to do better communication in getting in touch with students.
College Junior 2012-07-02T13:29:58Z
Process Was Long and Hard to Keep up With – I received a good amount of aid from the school, but a few times I had to turn in multiple copies of something because it was lost. They were helpful most of the time though, telling me exactly what I need to resubmit and how to do so properly. I would suggest really keeping up with your to do list as far as aid goes.
