UCF is gorgeous all around. The campus is very large but it's full of amazing sites. The student union is basically the center of all the hanging out and socializing of students. That is if you are not involved in any of the great campus activites they have. The gym is astounding; 150,000 square feet. Most everything at UCF is new and large and simply wonderful. It really is one of the best schools most people have never heard of!

Gym Is HUGE – This is, hands down, the biggest gym that I have ever seen and been to. I love it and I think that it offers a great variety of workout classes and equipment.

Very Diverse – Although this school is fairly large and very diverse, many students remain segregated. I've noticed that many people like to be around people who share their ethnic background and are not as open minded as I thought. Therefore, it can seem as though it is not diverse. To me, diversity means many of difference backgrounds together but if the students choose to segregate themselves, the diversity become irrelevant.

Fighting Stereotypes – I love the greek life at UCF. But there are some organizations that feed into the negative stereotypes that cause every organization problems. Once one organization feeds it then all get punished. Also there is such a limited selection on multicultural organizations because the Diversified Greek Council won't bring any new organizations to create a new selection of organizations. Little respect is given to organizations not on councils to the point where they aren't event recognized by the Office of Student Involvement.

Chain Vs. Local Restaurants – Restaurants are easy to find and prices vary from affordable to dinner-date expensive. Most students now go to some of the Hibachi restaurants or buffets near campus. Waterford provides a huge selection a various foods from healthy to tasty to even something new. One unfortunate reason why I don't grade it an A is because some local restaurants close after a few years because their main clientele has graduated or moved on to a different place and they lost business. Sometimes the local restaurants con be the best.

Always Have a Full Stomach – Even though on-campus we have a variety of food choices, off campus has hundreds more. From popular fast food joints like Dunkin Donuts or Taco Bell, to nice food hang outs like Chipotle or Tijuanna Flats, there's something for everyone. Even better? It's all right down the street form campus, making it one of the most convienent things to do on the weekends with friends!

Nothing but Safety – UCF, while being a big university, is not, however, big on drugs and alcohol. We have strict policies regarding such, and crossing these lines can have serious consequences. We are also a smoke-free campus starting this fall, and if that line is crossed, you will be 'rewarded' with a serious fine.

Something for Everyone – Orlando in itself is a huge city, so of course its main University will be big and bustling as well. There never really is a dull moment within the walls of UCF. The Student union is the place to be, along with the many shops and food joints along the way. Be sure to check out the arena too, it's really booming!

Rain, Heat and Humidity – It rains a lot here in Florida. Luckily it's rare if rain lasts for more than a thirty minutes so you can usually just wait it out. Also when it's not raining it can get extremely hot and humid. I suggest getting good sun block and carrying a small umbrella in your bag or car.

I love UCF it is awesome here. I feel like i lear something new about the campus everyday. Going to UCF for me everyday is like a mini adventure only because it is so big and has so many things to do. UCF has so many different clubs and organizations one can get involved in. I also am in love with the gym becuase there are so many classes to take as well as equipment.

Parking in my experience is not that bad as long as you come in the morning. Once u park your car i think you should have something on wheels such as scooter because we are such a large campus and driving around would only waste money and gas.

Printing on Campus Is Great – Every student gets twenty free printed pages each day in the library. I have never gone over twenty pages but if you do have a project that is going to be more than that you can always schedule yourself out so you never have to pay.

I am actually involved in some research here at UCF its a great way for the undergraduates to get involved and be prepared for grad school. I was recently involved in the Summer Research Academy and learned alot and basically got to take a tour. The labs are just like I imagined it with all kinds of mystery and technology in it.

Guys & Girls:
The boys are pretty descent here at UCF. I am not talking about channing tatum now but they could pass by. Everyone here is very sweet and welcoming it also helps that you know that they are actually going for degrees and going to make descent money later on in the future. There are plenty of guys to go around and all different types. Myself personally prefer white and tall athltic guys.

Kind of a Joke When Compared to Most Other Schools – Our Greeks do a lot for the community by volunteering and raising money. They also do well in school with the overall Greek GPAs being higher than the school overall. However, there are a lot of people in Greek life that wouldn't get in if they went to other schools. Also, its very hard to place what organization each individual is in because they all seem to be the same. Each organization has its attractive people and its unattractive people. Of the 11 current sororities only four are unhoused, with two being built and will be ready for Fall 2013. Of the... I think 16 or so fraternities only four are on campus with the rest having off campus houses or none at all.

I Wouldn't Live in Most Dorms – My freshman year I lived in Hercules, during summer b, and spent the fall and spring in lake claire. Both of these communities were great especially because I got my own bedroom, only had to share my bathroom with one other person, and we had our our kitchen for the four of us. I would not like in any other communities because you either have to share, or in the case of towers, are very over priced. Living off campus is the best idea. If you have your own furniture and a car I would suggest living in Arden Villas or renting a house. DO NOT GO TO STERLING.

My Experience – I am a first generation student and getting started with my college career wasn't easy. No one in my family knew what to do, such as filling out forms, getting involved, etc. So I got involved by joining a sorority and other organizations on campus and college became a breeze. I always have someone to turn to whether its when I have a question about paperwork, need a job, or simply want to have someone to study with. Its great to go to college and get good grades, but its much more impressive when you get good grades and are involved. Study a lot but make time to have fun!

Psychology Major – Overall, I enjoyed completing my program as a psychology student. The class workload was pretty reasonable and expected. Some teachers were interesting and some were boring. There are a couple internships they instill on students to partake in. A couple things I disliked was the class sizes. Because of the size of the school, there are at least 250-300 students in a class. There is barely any time to ask questions. The TAs are horrible! Most of them can't even answer a question. I have had some classes taught by grad students...you can definetly tell. But if you are going to learn and you want to succeed, you should do fine. Ever school has its "bad classes". If you have to teach yourself most of the material, it shouldn't be a problem. You are there to learn anyways.

Ok, but Gets Boring – The food is okay for the most part. When you first start off, you will be overwhelmed with the different variety of restaurants they have on campus. But eventually, it will die out. The food menu stays THE SAME. You are better off driving out of campus and exploring Waterford Lakes or some restaurants on University Blvd.

Mixed Feelings – The campus has different students attending for the most part. But I would say there is an overwhelming amount of white students. Many are rich and I believe are forced to be in school because of their parents. I ran into a lot of rich, lazy students. There is alot of racism that occurs. Especially withen the outter boundaries of UCF. The GLBT community is very small. Some I believe are afraid to even say they are. The politics are high. There is always something going on in the student union. Very high on SGA events and voting (Although I never really see a change).

Of course, if you are taking a later class, you have a better chance of finding parking. Most of the students who attend, have morning classes and afternoon classes. You would think because the campus is so big, parking wouldn't be a big deal. Well it is. Ticketing and fines are outrageous. Often, students are lined up at the service desk trying to fight their tickets. I fought a couple and have actually won. It up to you if you want to put the effort and time in to doing it. There is free parking in garage F. But, usually its full or its too far of a walk to class. I would not recommend anyone to purchase the Decal. I would park somewhere close, and take the shuttle. Saves alot more time and gas that way.

Health & Safety:
You dont even need insurance to get medical help. It's awesome. Pretty standard. Not alot of rape and violence here either.

Food Everyyywheerreeeee – There are a variety of foods coming from different backgrounds and cultures. The costs are average and affordable for a college student. You might need a car to get around although there is a buss system. YOU GET DISCOUNTS EVERYWHERE!! Foods for every type of person, heritage, religion. Halal food for Muslims everywhere. Bar scene is pretty decent. It's Florida...awesome parties.

Its okay. The football team isn't very good so the students aren't too proud or full of spirit.

So Many Choices – I love how UCF has everything for everyone. no matter what are you craving, UCF has it. from Chinese food to American food. Pizza, chicken, Mexican food, subway and many more. There is a variety of restaurants to satisfy your appetite and they are easy on your wallet.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
