The parking at UCF is terrible! There isn't enough parking at for everyone. I know we have a ton of students but I think the ratio of students to spots is 10:1!

Greek life at UCF isn't that big, but it is getting there. You don't have to be in a fraternity or sorority but it definitely does help your status. You get to meet so many new people and get so many connections just by being in a fraternity or a sorority.

UCF offers a lot of scholarships to different ethnicitys. However, one problem I have seen is their communication regarding these scholarships. The students are often unaware of forms needed, etc. that need to be processed in order for them to be able to receive these scholarships.

Very Diverse Campus – I'm in the Social Work program at UCF so I feel I interact with and am more aware of the diversity of the campus than most people are. UCF prides itself in having a diverse population of students and offers several clubs and on campus organizations devoted to furthering this goal.

Warm and Sunny – I love the Florida weather: almost always warm and sunny. I know a lot of people don't like the heat, but I love the weather in Central Florida. It doesn't get very cold; it's hot all summer and warm much of the Winter. Unlike most people, the weather is one of my favorite parts about this town.

Orlando has a good amount of attractions and has a fun downtown. The suburbs of Orlando are my favorite part though; Winter Park, located just several miles outside of the city of Orlando, is a small, classy town. That is my favorite place to go for studying and relaxing. However, though there are good cities around Orlando, I feel like the University of Central Florida is located outside of these cities. It's not all that far away--it is about a 30-40 minute drive to downtown Orlando or to Winter Park, but not many college students make that drive. Also, I think the main reason why I know about and go to these smaller towns is because I have grown up in Central Florida and know the good places to go, but for the students who moved to central Florida with the sole purpose of going to UCF don't leave that area of town very much because they don't know what else is around. UCF is located in a decent place, but I just feel like there is nothing spectacular around it.

The parking at UCF is not as bad as its cracked up to be. People are just stubborn and want a spot on the first or second floor of the garage right next to their class. You may have to park in a further garage on the third floor but there are always spots just not where you might want them to be.

UCF is quite the upcoming place to be. Extremely glad that I made the choice to go here. Granted the athletic teams aren't top notch talent in the country the atmosphere at the events definitely is. I feel as though I am in the number one up and coming school in the country. Little by little we are on our way to the top, great place to be!

So Many Options – There are many many options within 5-10 miles of campus. Waterford Lakes probably has 5 sit down restraunts itself. Lots of fast food but also healthier things like Panera, Greens and Grille, and Subway. You definitely will not go hungery.

A Lot to Do Here – Orlando is a quite a large area and there is a lot to do around here. Of course there are things like Disney and Universal and Seaworld with in 40 minutes of campus, but those aren't really things afforable for college students. There are A LOT of clubs and smaller amusement parks. Also a lot of outdoor activites

Unless you have class very early in the morning, it takes about 15-20 minutes to find a parking spot. If you live in the dorms, it's a bit easier because there is designated parking but otherwise you have to schedule time to find a parking spot. When there are only 20 something thousand parking spots and 58,000 students, you are going to run into some problems

Plenty of places to eat, and plenty of options. Service is good. There's a few places to avoid, IE the Chinese food.

Health & Safety:
Campus Security – Security is so focused on giving tickets they miss the real issues. A few cars got keyed, mine in included, and the security was no where around and couldn't offer any real help.
Complete lack of patrols / Cameras.

Desks in Comm Building – Non of the desks in the Comm building seem to match, or work very well. Lot's of broken desk's, that lean or are too small. One broke while some kid was sitting in it once during the middle of class.

Educational Wonderland – The University of Central Florida is a dream. I mean, it is one of the biggest Universities in the United States to say the least. But that only goes so far. The ambiance of UCF is one of integrity. I feel the faculty, staff, and students absorb this value and make it their own. The people on campus have a joyful pride about where they go to school. When arriving at school each day, it really does seems as if there is so much going on you have to pick and choose what to do with your time to make the most of it.

Nice Variety of Restaurants Around – Many meal options on-campus but off-campus options are great too. Many restaurants and fast food chains to choose from. Varies from olive garden to mcdonalds. Serves any tastes and any budget.

Amazing Shuttle Service – Great service from the rosen campus to the main campus. Great time availability so you can get to all of your classes on time. Unique escort transportation service so no study walks around late at night all alone.
College Senior 2012-05-31T22:20:45Z
Drug Awareness – The drug scene at University of Central Florida is almost non existant. I never see anyone doing any illegal activites on campus nor do I ever hear about "drugs" in any way. There is so much emphasis on integrity on campus, that students are more likely to not participate in drug activities.

Sports Drive School Spirit – Athletics in school create unity between students and the university. Cheering on your "home" team or being part of something bigger, I belive is a positive goal. It also allows opportunities to pool together people from vary different backgrounds that would not normally interact.

Health & Safety:
Excellent Facility – Full time students can come in for a variety of ailments and be treated. Appointments are easy to make. A pharmacy is located on the 1st floor. Test results are quick and timely. Adding insurance information is easy. Staff is very helpful.

As a Transfer Student and Upper Classman – I would have to say my judgement is skewed. However, all the professors I've had at this university are extremely adept at their subject. Classes are not boring. Professors are not boring, classes are smaller than expected. Tests are graded fairly. A lot if required from students but nothing impossible.

Great Environment – University of Central Florida has a great environment for students to flourish. The campus is huge, the architecture is beautiful and inviting, there are plenty of activities held for students and plenty of clubs to participate in. There are so many businesses and restaurants immediately close to campus. It feels like you never have to venture out more than a mile. The facilities and clean. There's a gym on campus and plenty of outdoor activities. There's college police and a health center. There's a free print lab in the student union and 24 hour study facilities. The library is 5 floors with plenty of study space.

My two sisters, however, have been in the sororities and they love it.
