Right Across Campus – There are Indian, Jamaican, Thai, Vietnamese and many more restaurants that provide a great variety of foods.

There aren't many problems when it comes to drugs but alcohol was a problem in the fraternities. There are the few smokers but nothing more than that. Drinking is definitely the biggest thing abused yet it has been controlled.

Good Enough – The food options are varied. There are good sit down options and good fast food options. Many places deliver. The dining options are very affordable. You may get tried of the places on campus though if you go to the same places all the time. So change it up some times.

So Much to Do – There are many free events, opportunities, and jobs for students. There is always something going on and it is a lovely campus. The school listens to its students and gives back to the campus and the community.

Students do drugs. Generally just marijuana. But it isn't an issue ON campus. Most students are serious and do those things in their spare time off of campus.

Wonderful hibachi grill and sushi bar! The white sauce is amazing too. Good prices.

A Lot to Do! UCF, located half an hour out of Orlando's city center there is never a time where you can't think of something exciting to do. From the night life across the street from campus, to the close proximity to Disney World and Universal Studios, UCF has it all. UCF is close to the usual amenities like movie theaters, a lot of restaurants, mini golf, and many other small entertainment ideas.

Rosen College of Hospitality – UCF offers a great opportunity for students wanting to pursue an occupation in the hospitality industry through the use of a separate campus specifically for this major. Rosen College is located half an hour from main campus and has housing for approximately 3,000 students. Rosen has state of the art kitchens, beer and wine tasting facilities and classroom technology that aids in the completion of the required Hospitality classes. Rosen College also offers job fairs at least once a semester where hiring hotels in the area come and offer jobs to students in the program. I do not live on the campus but UCF offers a convenient shuttle service to and from Rosen College. The campus is absolutely gorgeous. I feel incredibly lucky to have been given the opportunity to study at this school.

The weather is decent. The months of December, January, February, March (and sometimes April) are usually nice with temperatures staying below 80 degrees Fahrenheit (26 degrees Celsius). However the rest of the year, along with days during the "good months", can be miserably humid, hot, and sometimes unbearable.

Night Life – I don't party at bars/clubs. Therefore, this question does not apply to me.

I go the regional UCF campus in Cocoa where we have very limited choices: Taco Bell, Subway, McDonald's, or the school cafe shared with Brevard Community College (which is horrible!). The cost is the same as everywhere else, as we get no discounts. Overall, I do not enjoy eating in the area at all, and prefer bringing my own meals.

Digital Media Is Rigorous but Rewarding – As a Graphic Design student at the University of Central Florida, I am in the School of Visual Arts and Design which is a part of the College of Arts and Humanities. From my two semesters at UCF taking digital media courses, I have noticed that the number of instructors is very limited. There is a big possibility, in fact, almost inevitable, that you will be taking more than 1 course with the same professor. If you are not too fond of this professor or the time in which the class is being offered does not work for you, you are out of luck.
Most of the staff in the Digital/Emerging media track are qualified individuals that will teach you the fundamentals you will need to know to succeed in your specialization of choice and in your future career. It is highly encouraged that you visit them during their office hours (if they have them) to request feedback or if you need one-on-one help in the course.

Relatively Close to Everything – While I am not a huge fan of the Northeast Orlando area, considering all of the traffic, noise, and construction, UCF is in a very strategic area. UCF is just a few miles away from the Waterford Lakes Mall and the Oviedo Mall. You can also get to most of the theme parks, clubs, the Downtown Orlando area, the beach, and surrounding attractions within 30 minutes to an hour worth of traveling.
There are also many businesses and restaurants on University Blvd. and its surrounding streets. You can get a great haircut at SportClips, get some frozen yogurt, dine at Steak n' Shake, or get some cheap fast-food at Burger King or Wendy's.

While parking at UCF isn't exactly heaven on earth especially in the middle of the afternoon, I've never had much difficulty in finding a spot. There are plenty of multi-level parking garages that surround the campus so you have plenty of options for parking based on where your class is located. Security is also not so overbearing when it comes to ticketing for parking violations.
You should always give yourself plenty of time to find a parking spot and get to class, especially between 11 am - 3 pm. It is VERY likely that you will have to park in the third or fourth floor of any garage during peak hours and that traffic in-and-out of campus will be rather heavy. Getting through University Blvd. can be an excruciating process at times because there are so many traffic lights in this stretch of road.
Please give yourself at least 15 - 20 minutes during peak times to get through University Blvd. and find a parking spot. Don't bother circling around the first or second floor hoping to get lucky, head straight to the third floor and park close to the stairs.

I benefit greatly from the financial aid offered to be through the Bright Future's program and the UCF Full-Time grant. For first-time or transfer students at UCF, advisors guide you through the process via email and are always available to make appointments with to help you with the paperwork. They even offer the option of letting you mail in necessary documents to their office if you would rather not travel to turn in any necessary paperwork.
The only issue I have ever experienced with the financial aid office was the quality of service provided by their front desk workers. Their attitude could use a little more class and a little less sass.
My advice to any students applying for financial aid at UCF is to get the paperwork done as soon as humanely possible. This will help you acquire the most amount of aid you are entitled (since some aid is on a first-come, first-serve basis) and will allow you to rectify any problems, mistakes, or missing paperwork that you may encounter during the process in a timely manner.

So Many to Chose from but Soo Much Time to Wait! Restaurants are in abundance but along with the amount of places to chose from you have an overload in time you have to wait! The worst restaurant for waiting has to be Fridays. When my family comes to visit me, we usually go out together to have a nice dinner. Since all the places nearby are easy quick-and-go back to studying sort of deal, we go to the nearest family restaurant which is Fridays. The longest time we've had was an hour and 15 minutes. Although there is a outdoor shopping center behind the restaurant, me and my mother had no problem with the wait. Although if you're traveling with boys, make sure you warn them!

Apartments Are Cheap but Are They Worth the Risk? On campus, Security isn't something you have to worry about! But on the other hand, if you plan on off-campus housing then make sure you keep your stuff on high alert and secure in the parking lots! For example, In one of the nearby apartment complexes about 2 minutes from UCF campus, my car was broken into as I walked into the parking lot! I saw the guy run and hide behind other cars. Off-campus Housing sure is cheap and they have beautiful layouts but is it worth having a broken into car?

Easy Process – Declaring a major or minor and becoming aware of the amount of credit hours and courses that are necessary for either degree is very feasible. Academic Advisors are available throughout the day and are extremely willing to assist students of every major. Very simple process!

As a freshman student that does not have a car on campus, I find the various transportation alternatives to be very helpful and cost efficient. There are shuttles that run from campus to apartments and also Knight Lynx city buses that run at great hours.

Best of the Best ! The gym at the University of Central Florida is like no other. It comes fully equipped from anything from a rock climbing wall, spinning classes, pool, basketball courts and much more. They make it really easy to enjoy the perks of being a student by using a simple fingerprint scan to get in. On the other hand we have the student center, which is the heart of the school. Equipped with restaurants, discount tickets, printing labs, and a ballroom it truly is built to revolve the student needs!

The Early Bird Gets the Worm ! Needless to say during midterms and/or finals the computer labs can get a little hectic. The school provides wireless access throughout the entire campus so you can bring your own laptop and do what you need to do. If you don't have one, the school library gives you the option to rent one for a certain amount of hours. The server may get a little slow at times, but having the access to computers can prove to be beneficial when in dire need of finishing last minute papers!

Drinking Takes the Cake – There have been a couple problems with drugs at the school but more often than not the real problem is the drinking. It's popular with not only the fraternities and sororities but the other on-campus and off-campus students as well.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
