Knight lynx takes students for free to malls and other places. There is also an online community that helps you set up car pools. Affiliated housing offers a shuttle to campus every 10 minutes.

Apartments are very expensive in Orlando.. my roommates and I decided to go with renting a beautiful 4 bedroom 3.5 bathroom home... It turned out to be less that the apartments we were looking at...

I don't know much about them... they don't seem to consume every corner of campus... but they do advertise special events from time to time.

Love It – I love this university. The art program is stellar, and the professors are great.. they will all work with you on any problems you may have. I am so glad I chose this university.

Health & Safety:
I have never had a problem with safety on campus.. however.. I would like a few more faculty roaming about during the late hours. It's scary leaving school so late and alone sometimes :/

I've never really been into the athletic centers here on campus, but as for the student center and library? I'm there a lot. and there doesn't seem to be enough space for the amount of students that flood the study areas and tables every day. (ESPECIALLY around finals time!)

Not Sure Yet – I have yet to reach the Internship stage in my Major, however i have learned it is a requirement for the program and they provide you with schools and things you need to set you on your way to a excellent internship.

Everything about UCF is awesome especially once you get into your major. Alot of stress is taken away once you declare your major and the Education program gets you involved and makes the process easy to get into .

I Never Really Drove. Living on campus i never really drove around campus since i was in walking distance. I have heard mixed reviews, some say that it is very easy to find a spot, and others say it is sometimes difficult. I know that the decals to park are pretty expensive, but if you live off campus im sure it is worth it.

Relatively Easy – Generally the process of getting into Education is fairly easily. It requires several Intro courses which also come with observation hours, but if teaching is really what you want to do them you will enjoy taking these classes. Also other credits have to be taken but most count as your gen-eds as well. Also there is a required test but just be prepared for it!

Dont Question Education – Although I have just recently changed to education, it took a lot for me to decide if that is the career path i wanted to go down. However, the UCF education program makes everyone feel welcome and allowed me to become confident in the decision I was making. I believe this program provides students with many opportunities to be involved in the education system and sets students up for excellence.

There are not a lot of healthy options. I understand that this is in an area full of students but there are plenty of students who want to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Communication Sciences and Disorder – We have the largest faculty and student body. And our major's student group, NSSHLA, is the largest student organization on campus.

Florida Is Too Hot – The Florida weather is ideal for most people; warm, bright, and sunny. But not for me. I do not like feeling hot and muggy.

Bi Polar – Florida weather is general is bi polar. It'll be freezing one day and burning the next. You can't just pack up your coats at the end of winter. You never know when you'll need a jacket, or at least a hoodie. The sun is always out even in cold weather, have sunscreen. Classes are freezing, have a hoodie.

My overall experience at UCF hasn't been outstanding. The student body is huge and its easy to drown in it rather than stand out. UCF has many great sports to choose from, and the student union has great food options and even gives out 1 free scantron to each student everyday. My experience with professors has been very understanding. Everyone has told me that college professors don't take high school crap, but if you show you've made some effort they will listen to your problem and help you through it. Don't be afraid to ask because you think they don't care about you.

Laid Back – Atmosphere is pretty laid back. There are lots of shops and tourist attractions, including Walk Disney World and Universal Studios, which are only an hour or so away. Many students work there. UCF is always hosting activites and cultural events. The Disney Food and Wine Festival and the Corn and Strawberry Festivals are examples of events that happen throughout the year around the city. The UCF Appartments aren't very safe, I always see cops around there and hear of armed break ins. However the on campus housing is good.

My Path to Teaching Kids – I'm currently enrolled in Elementary Education at University of Central Florida. The program is very organized. The classes are little, which helps me learn better. The teacher are very helpful and willing to work with me if I have questions on anything. I enjoy the program and can't wait to make a difference in a child's life. The curriculum is not hard. The work is time consuming and hard to work when you have to intern or volunteer at the schools. I can't wait to teach and try very hard to get great grades in school. I financially need help so I can concentrate better on my studies.

Computer Availability – The school has many resources for students. One of their primary, astounding resources is the computer labs they offer their students. If a student should not have a computer or a printer available to them, the school makes it very convenient to use their resources. You don't have to ever worry about going and having a shortage of computers either because they always have plenty and make it very easy on the students. Extremely helpful and I always applaud the school on the way they can adapt to the needs of everyone.

Health & Safety:
Safety as a Knight – I am a transfer student coming to UCF and each time I go to visit, I feel very comfortable and right at home. Whether I'm there in the morning or afternoon or even in the evenings, there are plenty of people around and it makes the atmosphere much more safe. The parking garages are very well lit and I may not see UCF police on every corner, but they do manage to get around very well and will be there in a flash if you need them. But, as they say, you can never be too safe and if you're uncomfortable, walk with a group or with a male when going to your car in the evening, etc.

It's inevitable. We live in Florida and we can never predict when it will rain, be muggy, or even be a blistering hot day. Either way, as Floridians you should be prepared for any type of weather. There are plenty of covered walk ways and buildings to take shelter in, in the event of a storm or just the simple need to get some air. UCF is very readily equipped to get out of the weather at any time and has easy access for everyone.
Recent Alumnus 2012-05-02T00:13:33Z
there is a mass convenience available at my off campus dining. such a variety and ease of access there is a cell phone store, bank, and numerous resturants for me to choose from

Plenty to Go Around – The only time computers get crowded is during finals, however, any other time they are free. Also, there is WIFI however sometimes there are time when it does not work so it gets frustrating.

I am a part of the Greek community and I enjoy it. I think that there is a confusion between greeks and non-greeks as far as our contributions to UCF. Currently we are have a large presence in sports, teacher's assistants and tutors and even our SGA president and vice president are greek. We do community service on a weekly basis and collectively have raised more than 100,000 this year for various charities.

Health Science – I am in the HPA college at UCF and I have very few complaints about it. The teachers are nice, the classes are very informative and I feel as though I am being prepared for my future path. However, my only complaint is that there are not alot of good counselors. There are only two good counselors are they are hard to get an appointment with.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
