I benefit greatly from the financial aid offered to be through the Bright Future's program and the UCF Full-Time grant. For first-time or transfer students at UCF, advisors guide you through the process via email and are always available to make appointments with to help you with the paperwork. They even offer the option of letting you mail in necessary documents to their office if you would rather not travel to turn in any necessary paperwork.
The only issue I have ever experienced with the financial aid office was the quality of service provided by their front desk workers. Their attitude could use a little more class and a little less sass.
My advice to any students applying for financial aid at UCF is to get the paperwork done as soon as humanely possible. This will help you acquire the most amount of aid you are entitled (since some aid is on a first-come, first-serve basis) and will allow you to rectify any problems, mistakes, or missing paperwork that you may encounter during the process in a timely manner.

Teachers Grade Fairly – The professors i have had have been fair graders. The Workload sometimes gets hard but it is manageable.

Top Notch – Orlando is an up and coming bustling city. We have amenities that will fit any lifestyle and age group. From Disney World to great food, Orlando will not disappoint.

So Many to Chose from but Soo Much Time to Wait! Restaurants are in abundance but along with the amount of places to chose from you have an overload in time you have to wait! The worst restaurant for waiting has to be Fridays. When my family comes to visit me, we usually go out together to have a nice dinner. Since all the places nearby are easy quick-and-go back to studying sort of deal, we go to the nearest family restaurant which is Fridays. The longest time we've had was an hour and 15 minutes. Although there is a outdoor shopping center behind the restaurant, me and my mother had no problem with the wait. Although if you're traveling with boys, make sure you warn them!

Apartments Are Cheap but Are They Worth the Risk? On campus, Security isn't something you have to worry about! But on the other hand, if you plan on off-campus housing then make sure you keep your stuff on high alert and secure in the parking lots! For example, In one of the nearby apartment complexes about 2 minutes from UCF campus, my car was broken into as I walked into the parking lot! I saw the guy run and hide behind other cars. Off-campus Housing sure is cheap and they have beautiful layouts but is it worth having a broken into car?

Easy Process – Declaring a major or minor and becoming aware of the amount of credit hours and courses that are necessary for either degree is very feasible. Academic Advisors are available throughout the day and are extremely willing to assist students of every major. Very simple process!

As a freshman student that does not have a car on campus, I find the various transportation alternatives to be very helpful and cost efficient. There are shuttles that run from campus to apartments and also Knight Lynx city buses that run at great hours.

Best of the Best ! The gym at the University of Central Florida is like no other. It comes fully equipped from anything from a rock climbing wall, spinning classes, pool, basketball courts and much more. They make it really easy to enjoy the perks of being a student by using a simple fingerprint scan to get in. On the other hand we have the student center, which is the heart of the school. Equipped with restaurants, discount tickets, printing labs, and a ballroom it truly is built to revolve the student needs!

The Early Bird Gets the Worm ! Needless to say during midterms and/or finals the computer labs can get a little hectic. The school provides wireless access throughout the entire campus so you can bring your own laptop and do what you need to do. If you don't have one, the school library gives you the option to rent one for a certain amount of hours. The server may get a little slow at times, but having the access to computers can prove to be beneficial when in dire need of finishing last minute papers!

Drinking Takes the Cake – There have been a couple problems with drugs at the school but more often than not the real problem is the drinking. It's popular with not only the fraternities and sororities but the other on-campus and off-campus students as well.

Expensive and Unsafe – The apartments around the campus all seem to have very high rent rate as well as they lack the security and safety that the on-campus dorms provide.

Finding a parking spot is a nightmare. You have to be here really early if you want a good one.

Not Too Strict – As far as I know they don't crack down too hard on things. Academically there's been a few instances where they have been though.

Tons to Do – Orlando is stacked with things to do. For all of the really big stuff you're going to have to drive about 30-45 minutes to get near Universal or Disney.

Wow, Orlando Is Awesome! UCF has the best nightlife in all of Florida. We have 3 bars/clubs directly across from campus, as well as a few just 20 minutes down the road. There are always parties going on and never too difficult to find. UCF provides transportation on the weekends to and from most of the apartment complexes and campus to the bars/clubs to enhance safety. I've visited other universities and none have the type of night life UCF has.

Guys & Girls:
Damn, People Here Are Good Looking! You'll find all types of guys and girls at UCF. We have the sorority and fraternity types, the geeks, and everything in between. The girls tend to be very pretty, but you'll find an attitude comes along with that. The guys can be decent, but it all depends on your personal taste

Health & Safety:
Going for a Stroll at 3AM? Not a problem! Safety and security at UCF is rarely an issue. The campus is very secluded and security is always right around the corner. Occasionally, there is an incident but it is never due to actual students, always people coming from off campus.

There is a lot to do around here, between going downtown to clubs or just going to a movie or even an outdoor activity. It does require you to spend some money though, which as a college student is sometimes hard to come by; but it is definitely a good place to live.

UCF has so many opportunities for students to get involved in athletics, but there is not much fan support. Most people go for the tailgating, not so much the support of the team which is a little disappointing.

UCF is a very diverse campus, being one of the largest schools in the country we have students from every background, and all are welcomed and accepted no matter their race/ethnicity, economic background, political beliefs, religion, or sexual orientation! In fact it's encouraged to be different.

I Couldn't Be Happier... Well, Maybe a Little – As a Musical Theatre major, there isn't a wide amount of recognition or calmor for our department, but the faculty and staff could not be better. The acting professors bring to the table a wide array of experience and specialization in many different areas of the craft, and the music specialists have an amazing grasp on the inner workings of the voice. There are a few dance instructors, and they do a great job, but the caliber of dancers in the actual program is not high overall. However, I would highly recommend the school to those who come in with a strong background in performance, particularly voice, as the program will help get them in shape and prepared for the real world of theatre.

Don't Be an Idiot – The authorities in and around UCF aren't so concerned with busting you and getting you into huge trouble, they just want you to be smart, responsible, and not a danger to yourself or others. If you're visibily stumbling around drunk or, God forbid, you get behind the wheel of a car, you're going to get stopped. However, if you don't parade around like a fool, you can have a great time without any hassle. Bottom line: Keep it on the DL.

Once a Knight, Always a Knight – Ucf is big on community within the school, they hold a lot of events for the students and give a lot of free stuff away. A big plus is the annual Universal Knights where Universal Theme Park is open for only UCF students and the tickets for the event are free!!
College Senior 2012-04-23T22:00:00Z
If You Want It, You Can Find It – Drugs aren't the biggest deal on campus, but it's definitely around. Weed is the main export, and it's not too difficult to get, but if you go for anything harder it'll be harder to find. I'd stick to alcohol.
College Senior 2012-04-23T21:56:37Z
UCF offers a lot of athletic opportunities whether it be IM or the actual UCF team. The athletes are nice and don't do that whole "I'm better than you 'cause I'm an athlete" attitude.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
