The student centers are amazing there are a whole lot of benefits on campus. The campus is beautiful. The athletic centers are all new or newley remodeled. There is one libray that is huge and a great place to go study. There is something always going on on campus. Theres market day on wednesdays in front of the Union that brings in outside vendors. It is a great place.

I don't normally hang around with people that do drugs. I do know plenty of people who smoke weed. Alcohol is more popular from what I see.

There are several bars very close to campus. There are also plenty of diverse clubs and bars downtown. Students throw parties at their apartments. Normally you meet many new people. Transportation is very good for the clubs and bars near campus.

Football & Basketball – Football and basketball have the best support system by Alumni and current students. Team performance is very good. Most students participate in attending these athletic events as well as others that UCF provides.

Pretty Good – Campus shuttles are generally reliable, so long as you live on campus or at a campus affiliated apartment. If not, the metro buses go to campus. Parking sucks on campus though, you need to show up pretty early to get a spot and make it to class.

Mostly Drinking and Pot – It's mostly people getting drunk and smoking pot. Some ex and harder stuff if you hang out around the seedier folks.

Orlando is all paved over, so it get ridiculously hot about 6 months out of the year.

Mostly Chains – I haven't really found anywhere near UCF I really like to eat. You couldn't find a decent philly to save your life. But if you like applebee's and chili's then your set.

Waste of Money – The meal plans are overpriced. They might be convenient if you live on campus, but they are so expensive. The food is overall pretty good, a lot of options on campus, subway, chick fil a, some healthier places.

There is a huge selection of off campus housing within 5 minutes of UCF.... they even provide a shuttle to campus that is very convenient.
College Junior 2012-02-27T19:08:47Z
It is extremely convenient to live on campus because you can walk anywhere in 20 minutes.

Health & Safety:
I feel safe on campus because there are always so many people around and you can always contact a campus police officer.

Social Scene – UCF is so big it is impossible to not find a social place or group to be involved in. Everyone is friendly and open to including anyone.

Be Smart – Obviously, drugs and alcohol on campus are a no but they both are very available. It's not hard to find either if you are looking. If you're not the type of person who wants to be around either, students here are very understanding and would never push you to do something you wouldn't want to do. It mainly depends on who you hang out with.

A Great Place to Be – All of the buildings and facilities, including the dining rooms, library, gym, classrooms, and colleges at UCF are very nice. They are all either new or newly renovated. Our gym is filled with nice and new equipment. Everywhere on campus is very pleasing to the eye and is a great place to be. UCF effectively makes all of our facilities very comfortable to its students and visitors.

Lake Claire – I live in the Lake Claire apartments on campus. Overall, they are very nice. They are not very glamorous and provide only what you will need to survive on campus. However, the plus comes from the fact that you have a full kitchen available to you. This allows you to avoid paying the 1400+ dollars for a meal plan. instead, go to wal-mart every two weeks and spend 50-70 dollars. I have been very satisfied with my Lake Claire experience.

Biomedical Sciences – As a Bio-med major with the intention on attending medical school after graduation, i have definitely learned what will be required of me. The teachers i have for my major-related classes have been great and the advisers for this major are even better. overall, it has been a great experience.

So Much Food, So Little Time – If its a type of food, then there's somewhere near UCF that offers it; in fact, there are probably several restaurants that have it and are at different price levels. Many of the local restaurants will pass out coupons on campus or at the different communities on move in days, many restaurants have frequent customer/loyalty cards, and several of them have specials on foursquare. My personal favorite restaurant is Sus Hi. Sus Hi is basically the Subway for sushi, and they offer much more than just rolls, they have wraps, rice bowls, salad bowls, and a variety of appetizers too, and all at a low price! Another popular restaurant is Kyoto, with its $5.99 hibachi lunch special, enough food for almost two meals. If you're looking for pizza, Lazy Moon is the place to go, with slices of pizza that are about three times as big as a normal slice for about $3 or $4 each.

Study Hard, Play Hard – As most college students know, there is a website called rate my professor in which you can find out what to expect with different professors. Of my college experience I have had mostly wonderful professors that want to help you. Almost all of my professors have flexible office hours and are willing to help students find extra help- they want you to pass! Registering for classes is super easy! It can all be done online or you can see a counselor if you need help. Also, UCF has many campus resources available, from the writing center when you need help with paper, SARC (student academic resource center) for tutoring, and even a counseling center for when your stressed out, just to name a few.

Fun and Focused – When students aren't busy cramming for exams there are a lot of things to do in the surrounding area. The University of Central Florida is only 25 minutes away from the Universal and Sea World Parks, 45 minutes away from the Disney parks, and about an hour away from Lego Land. Both Kennedy Space Center and the beach are 45 minutes away. Also, if you're in the need for speed there is the Orlando Speed world, located about 20 minutes away from campus, or Daytona is only an hour away! As per the night life, there are several bars located right in front of campus and the downtown scene is only 20 minutes away. To top it off, there is even a dog park and a shopping mall about 15 minutes from campus. There's always something to do in Orlando!

Here in Florida most of the time the weather is sunny it barely has its cold days. It is February here and you can go outside with sandals and shorts. :)

Greek Life at UCF is Diverse and there are often Yard Shows for the different Fraternities and Sororities at the University. There is also Rush Week at UCF.
College Junior 2012-02-26T19:53:54Z
UCF is usually always active you can almost always find something to do there. Sometimes they throw parties for the whole campus to attend that are free.
College Junior 2012-02-26T19:17:54Z
Everywhere you go there will be peer pressure at tour age. However, all incoming Freshmen at UCF are required to take an alcohol education course to inform you of the risks of drinking so you will be aware of what can happen to you.

Guys & Girls:
Although the College is a majority white institution there are many people that look like me on campus. Also, there are different racial profiles also. So I would say that UCF is a diverse campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
