Academic Dishonesty – Our univeristy is really strict when it comes to academic dishonesty.

Perfect Location – i live off-campus and i have to admit that there are a lot of apartment complexes around the campus with very affordable prices

Transfer Students – I came to UCF from Valencia community college and i was really impressed about how smooth the transition was, and also the academic advisors are always available and very helpful.

Small Town, but Lots to Offer – I like my school because the campus is located in a small city area and also because is close to where I live, close to the campus is Tijuana flatts and many good restaurants. Furthermore we have an amazing public library that helps me get in track with my research and education. Also, we have a cool learning center where I can go anytime if I need help with my classes, the tutors are very helpful. And the most special and coolest thing ever is the National Training Center in Clermont where any UFC student can come for free and enjoy all the facilities it has to offer.

Health & Safety:
Basically Safe – I have always felt safe on UCF's campus. Everyone is near each other so if there was ever an emergency, appropriate services would arrive in a timely manner.

The prices of alcohol and over-bearing cops make sure that you keep to your local scene during schooldays, and only venture off into the city during weekends. Drinks are pricy wherever you go (unless they have a special) and dowtown is usually 15-20 min drive from the UCF area, assuming that is where you are staying.
Parties vary depending on the area and clearly also who is throwing them.
You tend to develope more of a hang-out spot/house as oppossed to a party crew unless you have a designated driver who is all about it.

Ghetto Life Meets College Student Life – A lot of the places around UCF have become quite ghetto as dealers seem to be wanting to be gathering where the money is at: college students. As you tour through the neighborhoods you will encounter all kinds of cars, people, and sometimes even drugs (not that I'm into any, but you def get random offers). Most of the people are pretty chill and won't bother you, but there have been some encounters between the police and random dealers/grow houses within the neighborhoods around campus, not to metion random fights that break out between drunken college student even at the most upscale of places.
Fun, but be careful where you go, and if you're a pretty girl make sure to bring a friend...and maybe some mace.

Interdisciplinary Studies – It's alright, but you really have to know what you want to get out of it from the start, otherwise you are screwed. The cornerstone and capstone core classes are mostly online and can be quite annoying to deal with if you're not into the whole online system. Some advisors are really helpful, while others talk out of their asses about the classes you select and know little more than if they will count towards your degree or not. Example: I selected a 4000 level course and asked my adv about it and he said that it would be simple if I wasn't working that semester; when I asked the actual advisor of the program for the selected class, she instructed that it was one of the hardest ones they offered and not something she would recommend for someone to start off with...conclusion: now I have to juggle around the random holds during christmas break and hope I have enough time once it is over to find other classes that are more student-friendly/less harsh.

Many Choices – Since the university has limited housing space for it's 40,000 student there are many choices off campus from the super cheap affiliated housing to up-scale apartments/townhouses. Some even find it more convenient to rent a home.

Many Options – many options off-campus. Located in a busy area and near a shopping center (Waterford) which has numerous locations to choose from. 20 min from downtown Orlando which has even more choices but more expensive

Curriculum Materials Center – The curriculum materials center in the education complex is a wonderful resource. They have all the books and materials necessary to help students in the education field with any project. There are also a lot of reference materials that can be utilized.

Tendency to Loose Things – I have had to stay on top of my scholarships making sure I got all my money because the school has a hard time keeping track of all the information. But they are easy to talk to when the first two months have passed. They do their best to make sure that you are taken care of.

Parking can be a hassle. There is no guarantee that you will get a spot even if you have a pass. But most students just walk or ride their bike so they do not have to worry about traffic.

Clean and Safe Enviorment – The new dorms are in a secluded area that feels like a resort. Staff comes in and does weekly cleaning of the buildings. It does not feel like we are on a college campus but instead it feeld like a small safe community.

Could Be Better – Definitely needs more packing lots or garages and needs to make parking permits more affordable.

Location Location Location – If you can't find something to do on campus, (which is ridiculous since there are plenty of activities you can join through clubs or through the recreation center)then you can find multiple things to do off campus.
While there are no theme parks right in sight, there are plenty of restaurants, smoothie shops, ice cream parlors, and clubs to hang with your friends at.
If you want to go away from the main road Alafaya, then you can drive thirty minutes to the ever-popular beach: Cocoa. Or you can use your student discount at any of the semi-nearby Theme parks such as Universal or any of the Disney parks.

Civil Engineering – The process of getting into the major of civil engineering was fairly challenging because it required a lot of work which is good for the students because it prepares them for what the classes are going to be like and it was necessary to have good math and sciences done to get in as well. They do not have an abnormal process, just a demanding one because it is a difficult major.

The drugs at UCF are not seen around campus because there are police members always on the watch and they keep the campus as a safe environment for all of the students.

Computer Labs – The computer labs are great and very efficient with helping students because the computers were great and with great speed and do not freeze or ruin one's work on them.

Its very hot in the summer with no costal breeze and thunderstorms almost every afternoon. The beach is only an hour away and there are pools everywhere so summers are bareable.
Winters can get fairly cold (at leat for me a Florida native) but the sun shines and it is usually beautiful.
All in all I think the weather is very nice....Lets put it this way, it could be way worse.

Food Around Campus – There is just about everything you can imagine to eat around campus. A drive down University blvd. will give you the option for just about any fod you may be in the mood for at a variety of price points. You have your fast food, McDonalds, Wendeys, Burger King, Backyard Burger, Chik-Fila, and Taco Bell. Then theres the college staple of pizza...Lazy Moon, a UCF exclusive features pizza slices the size of a normal pizza pie for a very reasonable price, and also offers a unique and fun atmosphere. You also have all of the normal pizza places like Pizza hut, Papa Johns, and Dominos. There are also a number of sit down restaruantes including Applebees, Ruby Tuesdyas, El Cero, and Azteca. AS you can see just on the main road leading into campus students are able to eat whatever they want at what ever price point they are looking for.

Take all forms to school as early as possible because then during the first week of class you'll be waiting to be at the financial aid office for hours to be assisted.
