I haven't had an internship through UCF yet, but i did speak with the internship coordinator to get an idea of the opportunities and they are various. There is an online system you can search once you've spoke with the internship coordinator so that they can get a feel for what you're looking for. Super easy and accessible.

I transferred to UCF after being at another smaller state school for my first 2 years, and I don't regret it for a minute. The university really supports its students and offers you so many options--there are so many degree programs, job fairs, internships, clubs...if you look for something, you will find it. The only key is that YOU have to look--no one will do it for you. As long as you can navigate a larger campus, speak up and get involved, you'll feel at home here fast. It's my first semester and I've already met many wonderful people and have had opportunities here that I would not have gotten elsewhere. Join a club, speak to your advisors, and jump right in. The UCF community is open and waiting!

UCF is wonderful for diversity. You will meet all walks of life here, and the university really promotes diversity of all sorts. You can be conservative here, you can be liberal here, you can whatever sexual orientation, religion, or race--you will find your niche. I have yet to witness any animosity or discrimination.

You can either pay $100 for the year for a parking decal that you'll still have to battle with for a parking spot, attempt to use Garage F (behind the CFE Arena) where parking is free most of the time (except during events) but is usually full and is far away from everything, pay $5 for a parking spot per day, or live in an off campus community that has a shuttle service to campus (this is the cheapest option, but not always convenient. I do it any way).

Orlando is a great city because it is large, but has a small-town feel. Around campus, you can find plenty of bars and clubs that cater to students and the deals are great. There is also downtown Orlando not too far away, which offers other options for nightlife. You'll never be bored!

Some of the finacial aid assistants were not so helpful. It is very important to get everything in a timely manner. Fill out any forms completely and if you are not sure on what they are adking for on the forms go or call there before filling out the forms.

Health & Safety:
Alerts are given via texts if safety issue arises. I have yet to encounter any threats to my safety. Overall, I feel safe on campus.

Getting financial aid was easy, the key is to just fill out your FASFA as soon as they allow you to. If you make any mistakes they notify you before its too late that it affects your financial aid situation.

Scenery is nice, transportation is easy there are always shuttles and everything is pretty to close to everything so you can easily bike or walk to something.

Love our athletics. The gym is huge and is always bumping with students. Our football team is doing great this year and has tons of fans support. Knight pride is prevalent even when they are doing poorly. School spirit is huge.

I have never lived in the on-campus housing but have visited a friend who lived in the Towers and those were extremely nice.

I honestly do not know. I am not in a frat and do not care to be.

Parking is an issue sometimes. Often I have trouble finding a spot and the decals are very pricey. We pay enough to attend the school why should we have to pay to park? Thats just extra money the school is gathering i feel like. Ticketing is ridiculous I once parked in the wrong spot for 5 minutes and returned to my car to find a ticket on there already.

There are ample computers everywhere all across campus. I've never not been able to access a computer when I really needed to use one.

UCF is great. There are a lot of perks to being a student. The campus and school itself is very student friendly. You get treated like an individual and not just one of the thousands of students. Advisors and professors actually care.

Registration process is pretty smooth, there are a ton of good study areas around school

Industrial Engineering is no walk in the park, It takes a lot of dedication to the program. The curriculum is tough but thats why engineers get paid the big bucks when they do find jobs. They are bright and have put in the hours on high level math. So anything in the job they get one day will be easy to them.

We live in beautiful central florida! How could anyone complain about the weather its great!

Yes I plan to have an internship, I do have concerns about finding one considering it seems like everyone wants one. How am I going to make myself standout? This is a question I ask myself a lot
College Junior 2013-11-05T06:01:18Z
I sort of enjoy it. Its interesting it will pay off in the long run, the workload and curriculum is tough. Being an industrial engineer major you have to have a broad understanding of the spectrum of all the engineering fields and being able to apply those in everyday situations.

To me it is about the same as any other populated area. Common restaurants and common fast food places are prevalent. however I do enjoy Pei wei

I love the library, very spacious and you can always find yourself a quite corner or desk to get some serious studying done. There is ample amount of computers everywhere on campus if you are in need to use one. I love the Harris computer lab in EGN 2, they allow you to print out documents in there for free which has come in handy many time this fall semester already. The union is a great place to be on wednesdays there is a high energy in there and the student body overall is very friendly with one another.

The dining options on campus are overall decent. Of course you have you fast food places but you also have a Subway, a Jimmy Johns and a place comparable to Chipotle that I forget the name of. I do notice that the pricing is somewhat inflated compared to the same establishments that are off campus. The variety is decent.

The shuttle buses are really nice and bring you to far campus locations. They are clean and free.
College Sophomore 2013-11-05T04:21:25Z
Off campus housing is a lot cheaper and you are guaranteed a single bedroom but I find living on campus to be more convenient.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
