Drinking Is More Common Than Smoking – In Central FLorida, drinking is more common than smoking. People tend to drink more in their apartments then smoking.

I lived on campus for my first two years of school, so transportation was never something that I was concerned about. However, since I've moved off campus, I've had personal experience with the transportation options that UCF has to offer.
UCF works with Lynx Bus Transit to help get their student's to and from school. This transportation is at no cost to the students, and is actually very convenient. Buses run about every ten minutes, so waiting is never really an issue.
As far as on campus transportation, UCF offers Safety Escort Patrol Services (S.E.P.S.), which you can call at any hour and someone will pick you up in a golf cart and take you wherever you need to be, quickly and safely.
UCF is only located 20 minutes away from MCO Orlando International Airport. I travel frequently, and have looked into shuttles from UCF to the airport, and found that it costed a whopping $95 round trip! I wish they offered something a little more affordable.

Guys & Girls:
Good Mix – Being in my third year of school here at UCF I have been able to see quite a bit of our student body, and with great confidence I can say that we have a good mix of people here at UCF. As a student body, we are a very diverse group, seeing as we are the second largest school in the nation. I come from a very small town, and was used to seeing the same faces every day.
Attending to the University of Central has cultured me. We have all kinds of boys, and girls that go here. People from all over the United states, and even the world. I have become friends with people from Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, England, Korea, and even Australia.
Because of our diversity, people look, dress, and act differently. There are so many different interests, and UCF does a great job of creating a Community where everyone can be satisfied. After all, Community is part of our UCF creed.

I have recently moved off campus to a non-affiliated housing place. However, I do find that if I am hungry while on campus, it is very easy to find something to eat. We have a wide variety of restaurants to choose from. We have Sbarro's, Burger King, Asian Chow, Domino's, and even a Qdoba. I can't forget to mention my absolute favorite, Jimmy John's. When I used to live on campus, I would have Jimmy John's at least once a week!
I have also had the pleasure of eating at UCF's dining halls, Knightro's and Marketplace. The food there is EXCEPTIONAL. When I was a freshman, it was as close to a home cooked meal as I could get. Both are very clean, and the people who work there are extremely friendly.

Well I do not live on campus and I have not engaged into night activities but I hear a lot about it. It seems that there is somewhere to go almost every night. People have fun, get drunk and leave their assisgnments for last minute.

They are awesome. It unfortunately when none are available. I love the printing lab. I believe that it is well organized and structured. Internet speed is good enough for me.

Health & Safety:
Campus Security – I feel that students pn campus know how they are expected to conduct, that could be a reason why I do not see much of security action on campus. However, I believe that it is just fine.

UCF has an amazing hospitality program that is in the center of bustling Orlando. With major theme parks and thousands of hotels and restaurants near-by there are so many wonderful internship and job opportunities available to students.

Go Knights! Although UCF is just beginning to get noticed in the athletic realm it is still a big part of student life here at UCF. Tailgating is great and thousands of students attend every game. With out new stadium the games are a blast! I also really enjoy the basketball games. WIth our famous Jordan brothers on the court the games are always interesting. I love how no matter what store you go to around UCF you will always see sports memorabilia and fans sporting UCF gear! WIth such a large student body it's hard not to have such a large fan base!

The dining around UCF is AWESOME! Besides having all of the basic chain restaurants there are so many little mom & pop dining places that are delicious! I would defiantly recommend Salsa to Go! to everyone, it is right on campus and the prices are relatively low. This is my favorite restaurant by far! I would also suggest TownHouse for breakfast, Lazy Moon for some really yummy late-night pizza, and Jeremiah's for an icy treat. If you are on a budget I suggest checking out Froggers which has dollar burgers on tuesday & Pretzels which has delicious .25$ wings on tuesday.

Trying to find a parking spot by your building is hard. Sometimes you have to park in the garages which are kind of far from housing. Tickets are 20 dollars usually which is reasonable but getting two of them in one month would be hard to pay because many students dont have money to spend on that.

The school is shaped by Greek Life and sports. The atmosphere of campus is affected by the Greek community because many people are involved and they have many events.

Guys & Girls:
Everyone at UCF has their own story to tell. They are all so different, from gender to the way they speak and dress. Its nice to have something different around you, someone you arent used to or someone you wouldnt normally hang out with.

I personally don't drive to school for a great reason. Parking on campus is such a hassle, you better leave at least 45 minutes before your class to get there at a reasonable time.

Drinking Is More Popular – Many students like to drink, however are very aware of consequences and take caution of Designated Drivers, for instance. While a plethora of kids are smoking cigarettes, other drugs are not so popular.

Convenient and Affordable Dining for All – There is a wide variety of off-campus dining near the UCF area. everything is about 5 minutes away. Not only is it convenient to get there, however there are many stores that even offer student discounts! Check out the Water Fort plaza for over 100 dining locations.

There are massive amounts of crowds that come out, and UCF will give out free tickets to students on occasion

Things You Dont Realize at First – There are dozens of academic programs that will fit all of your needs. The school may have a hug student population (second largest in nation) but it doesnt feel that way walking around campus. The campus itself is smaller than most, especially with this many students but i cant imagine any other campus being the perfect size like UCF is. Theres always something to do, you may have to go off campus but theres plenty of ways to get there. The people are great, no one cares if your different in any way. We are all just here to have a great time. The ladies are phenomenal, and ive been told the men are just as great. The only thing you need to do to have a good time here is to be willing. Theres so much to do you just have to get out and do it

Always depends on the time of year, and for those of you who live in Florida you know how the weather is. It either rains for 5 minutes or all day. Most of the time all you have to do is walk 10 ft to your right and your out of the rain. luckily all the buildings are pretty close to each other so they offer some protection, but bring an ubrella. It doesnt rain often but having an umbrella will be very helpful. Alot of people including me walk around barefoot when it rains so our shoes dont get drenched which i would recommend. It can get hot outside, but its not very humid and it gets cooler at night. Winters are nice here, can get a bit cold so buy some warm clothes but other than that the weather is really nice here

Depends on the Day – The school meal plans aren't too expensive, but if you are a very picky eater i do not recommend them. There is always variety, but its either you eat what they serve or you don't. Theres always pizza, salads, and deli sandwiches but you can't live off of only that. The food has never been bad, but some days are better than others. There are plenty of fast food resturants on campus, and a really good sports bar right in the Student Union. I recommend getting the meal plan if you have the money to spend because its easy and convienent, but i know plenty of people who are eating out of the dorms (microwaveable foods). Meal plans are not required to have so dont feel pressured into them but they do come in handy sometimes. I would recommend starting off with one of the lower meal plans first, you can always upgrade but you cannot down grade.

I find them to be quite understanding, while at the same time, they keep the campus safe, and keep those that work hard to distract students to a minimum.
College Senior 2011-12-01T02:28:57Z
I hear it is great. I don't get out much as I strive for a 4.0 grade point average, and I find that between sleep, classes, homework, exercise, and the all important down-time there is just no time for bars or parties.
College Senior 2011-12-01T02:25:38Z
Great Value and Variety – Some of us students are on a really tight budget. And though I've heard people complain about choices on campus, for myself, I think it's worlds apart from mac-n-cheese that I would be eating if it weren't for the food on campus.
College Junior 2011-12-01T01:11:11Z
The campus contains a variety of shuttle stations that carry students to various parts of the nearby area. It is an easy-to-use system that is well-liked by the student body.

Very Good Dining. The dining options at UCF are varied and of high quality. The university-run cafeterias are nice, but have conflicting hours and are spread very far apart. This is a problem for students like me who have to walk everywhere.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
