Health & Safety:
Minimal Threats on Campus – The UCF Campus is relatively quiet and crime-free. You do hear the occasional story of someone's ipod being stolen, but those seem to be isolated incidents. I feel quite safe walking to the dorms alone at night. There are is an ample amount of security guards, substantial lighting, and emergency stations.

Men's Restrooms Are a Relief – UCF is awesome, first and foremost. Restrooms being near and dear to my heart then, it joys me to say that 9 out of 10 (men's) restrooms can be found regularly kept in a pristine state of cleanliness. Those in the Union are especially comfortable. I must admit, though, a certain natural law: that the more obscure the restroom, the less likely it may be to reach such a standard. There is, for example, a noticeable contrast between the third floor of the Engineering building and the recently constructed Music building, or the nook of the Breezeway and the Education Complex. However, given that most of us won't find ourselves in such hideaways, it is safe to say that when you find yourself in a UCF restroom it will more than likely be a relief indeed.

Punishments Are Severe – Campus police are very strict. Little things such as your car not being parked in the right spot to speeding and drinking and driving. They do not tolerate underage drinking especially at football games.

UCF is very diverse, walking around campus you see all types of different people with different backgrounds, religions, and even sexual orietations.

I Need More! I had to fill out FAFSA this year to claim my bright futures, but I wish I could get some other use out of that whole process. My dad makes a LOT of money in a year, but what FAFSA doesn't inquire is how much debt the family is in. I'm likely ineligible for any other financial aid, even though my parents need it right now.

Campus administrators and faculty stress with persistence the importance of safe behavior as well as the consequences for acting inappropriately and participating in illegal activity. Police roam tailgates to keep students in line, however punishments are rarely severe for over-stepping these boundaries. Generally, if you're not making a huge scene, and you're walking around a tailgate with a beer, cops won't give you a hard time. I love UCF!

Abundance of Choices – Just outside of the campus boundaries lies a road with over 20 different restaurants and cafes. Students with virtually any preference can enjoy a meal around the UCF area. Greek life hangs out at Applebee's because they're open really late and it's a convenient location for after chapter meetings on Sundays. Lazy Moon, Boradway pizza and El Cerro are also popular choices for their cheap deals and drink specials.

A personal computer is a must, and bringing your own printer would also be a good idea because the printing labs are ALWAYS busy, and you can only print 10 pages a day. There are many computer labs, but there are sometimes time limits, and are not open all the tim.

I got a good amount approved for aid and I got a UCF scholarship as well. It was a nice surprise!

Transportation in UCF seems to be right on point. I see UCF shuttles all over campus. I dont use them because I have my own car, but it seems to be a great option.

Athletic Facilities – The athletic facilities in UCF are amazing and the recreation center is great! You have so much space and so many options. In addition they have great classes such as martial arts, yoga, weight lifting, and much more. Its a great way to keep students active.

Transportation around UCF is pretty great. They have shuttles to and from all the local student apartments and even shuttles across campus.

There are tons of computers in the library and computer labs around campus. They get crowded during the day, but it is still usually fairly in find one to use. The wireless internet access is sometimes difficult to log on to and can be slow. The Student Government printing lab is great though, it has free printing to all students.

College of Nursing – UCF has a College of Nursing that has state of the art equipment. There is a whole floor dedicated to machines that simulate what actually happens in hospitals like the birth of a child or a heart attack. The only thing is that is it very hard to get into the College of Nursing because they only take about 20 students.

Bleeding Black and Gold! UCF is the greatest place to be! The social life is great for any student, classes are interesting, there are many study opportunities to help with classes, and the campus all around is a great place to be. I love being a Knight and I'm so happy with my decision to come to UCF. Go Knights!

So Many Apartments! There are many apartment choices arouns the University of Central Florida campus. There is only one that if affiliated with the campus, so it is the only one that takes financial aid. The other apartment complexs are all really nice and accomidation for college students. They are all reasonably affordable and some are actually really large for the rent price. It is not hard to find off campus housing that everyone will love.

Hot, Humid, Rainy, and Yet Amazing – Like all other universities in Florida, UCF suffers from the horrible and wonderful weather that the Sunshine State offers. It can be hot and humid, rainy, or darn near perfect. But hey, it is Florida.

Good Luck – The parking is worse than a nightmare; it is nearly impossible to find a spot unless you want to park far away from classes or get to the campus early enough.

Everyone is into our football and basketball team, but our football team the most. Support is abundant as well as athletic facilities.

Very ethnically diverse. It seems that most of the students are from middle class families. Religion and sexual orientation are very expressed. I have never witnessed or heard about any conflict in diversity. The only area I have not seen very expressed is political beliefs.

The area surrounding UCF has all that you would expect; museums, shopping, entertainment, bookstores and libraries, clubs and restaurants and a downtown area. The only downfall is that everything is very spread out. To make that matter worse, the public transit is not well structured. Buses are not very frequent and routes are very inefficient. Sometimes it will take a couple hours of bus riding to get the same distance as a 20 minute car ride.

I love UCF. The students and staff are friendly, the professors are friendly and helpful, and there are many things to do around campus.

Large and Friendly – Orlando is an extremely large city. Because campus is not the main focus and the city was built before the campus was, there are many people who live near campus who are not affiliated with the school. Mostly everyone is friendly. There are many things to do in Orlando, and shopping is very close.

Greeks Not Important – Greeks at UCF are known for their party and drinking habits. However, they don't run the school. There are many different organizations on campus that many different people are involved in.

Initially, I found it a bit difficult to track down helpful and accurate information on how to apply for financial aid and any specific critera, if any, that was required by UCF.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
