There are some student discount places, but not much. My favorite affordable little Spanish place just closed, and I'm completely bummed about it.

Although it has it's problems academically, UCF has great internship programs and professional experience building opportunities, as well as a great college atmosphere including sports, clubs, Greek Life, and organizations.

Like Every School – Like every school financial aid is always a process. Visiting several offices , filling out paperwork, proving residency are just the beginning. Filling out the paperwork as soon as possible is the only tip that is recommended.

Extremely Strict – Academic Integrity is taken way too seriously, and many students are automatically expelled if any kind of dishonesty is suspected. Campus police will pull you over if you are 5 mph over the speed limit. Extremely strict on drinking in dorms.

Two Dollar Bus – Regardless of where you want to end up going, you can almost always catch a bus that will take you to your designated location at the cheap price of two dollars. Several trips a week however can be costly to one.

Small Variety and Overpriced. Dining on campus is somewhat limited, and is typically pretty overpriced. Dining halls are extremely expensive for mediocre food. Typical food types you'd see in a mall food court are available in the student union, but aren't anything special.

Cheap Compared to Home – While a student does have to travel quite a bit to acquire a decent healthy meal, finding one is not impossible. Several cross city trips enable a variety of different options. From Chinese restaurants to gourmet restaurants, from a cheap ten dollar buffet to over one hundred dollar meal. Overall being a student has it's rises and down falls.

Every Major Should Require One – As a paralegal student, having a chance to spend a semester in a law office and do hands on work was very helpful. There was no pay but the program made sure that the internship involved more than just making coffee and copies. The time commitment and responsibilities were discussed and decided on an individual basis. Many of the internships led to job offers.

More Frustrating Than It Should Be – I've gone through this process several times yet it doesn't get easier. Each semester there's new forms to fill out and they often take a long time to get processed and require you to stay on top of things as they also don't give adequate notice of the things you need and how they will affect your financial aid.

Diamond in the Rough – There is so much to do in Central Florida that most locals forget about! Besides the typical tourist attractions of Disney and other theme parks, near by there is the Kennedy Space Center which offers tours. Also, there are a number of science and art museums in the area which are more interesting than it may seem. Of course one of the best things in the area is the beach!

I am not a Greek, but have come to view them in a pretty positive light. The Greeks here aren't what I always thought they would be like. They set up all sorts of fun events on campus and I have yet to see any large amount of drinking happening at any of these events. Just last week, one of the fraternities here had a haunted house and a halloween party that was open to everyone. It was good, clean fun without alcohol.

Guys & Girls:
UCF has a very diverse student body and it definately shows in the number of clubs and groups that are available to students. There are clubs available for a wide variety of interests ranging from sports to playing board games. There are also a large number of groups for different ethnic groups or religions. I was able to find a club to join right away and it helped me to make friends with similar interests.

Printing on Campus – There is a printing lab on campus at UCF, but it is always packed and it is much easier if you have your own printer. I am lucky because I live off campus in an appartment complex and they have free printing in the front office there. However, I still bought a printer for myself just in case.

Not so much spirit as I'd like but the team is getting better and the gym is awesome

There are some decent places but I like more variety

Commuting Is O.K. If you live close enough to take the shuttle, it is the best option. It passes every 20 minutes and you do not have to deal with parking. For someone like me who does not live close enough, commuting is fairly expensive with rising gas prices. Parking is awful starting around 11 am.

Great Variety – It doesn't matter which direction you leave campus, there is food. On University the greatest variety of for is available. There is latino food, pizza joints, bars, sports grilles, fast food, and ice cream parlors. It is a five to ten minute walk and two minute drive. It is literally across the street from UCF. Most of the places are priced to fit a student's budget.

Athletic Centers Are Great – The recreation center at UCF is incredible. It has everything anyone can need and it is free to students. It is clean and beautiful. There is an indoor heated pool, an indoor track, and many machines. You can sign up for classes on the phone and have a trainer during workouts all at no cost to students. I love it. Around the center is a parking garage so it is convenient to park there. It is also near the Student Union so food is close by.

Many majors to choose from. Happy with the choices.

Rain Rain Rain – Rain is the biggest problem. Classes get cancelled but it has to be heavy rain and lightning for that to happen. Very rare for classes to get cancelled.

Time and Effort Is Needed – There are many opportunities at UCF for financial aid although I do not try for them. I am getting more involved in filling out applications and getting more awards. Effort and time is needed to get financial aid.

Although I have heard of some students at UCF doing drugs I hear more about drinking. I feel most students at UCF do more partying and drinking and less of drug activities.

Many Clubs and Organizations – There are many clubs and organizations on campus to help with the Diversity on Campus. There area always different booths and activities going on on campus to educate students and get people involved.

Parking is terrible. Getting better, but when there are 50+ thousand students it can be hard to find a spot sometimes.

Drink and Smoke – Lots of drinking and marijuana. Everyone drinks and smokes. Harder drugs depends on the people you hang out with.
