I don't know much about the on campus transportation because I do not use it. I know there is a shuttle that goes around to the parking garages and around campus.

I do not live on campus.

This school has a decent sports program. They are up and coming.

My school is a great school. It has everything a student needs. There is the option to stay on campus. There are apartments very close by for those who want to live off campus. The campus is small, so students won't be too overwhelmed. Football life is popular with this school. The professors are very well edcuated and very invested in their students.

There are so many options near campus. The only thing I'd say we're lacking in is really nice restaurants. I'd imagine that would be because college students don't typically have the cash to eat an expensive meal.

I received student loans from the university. I just tuned in my FAFSA and accepted the aid. I never had to make any appointments or had any hassles.

Campus is extremely modern. They are always renovating some building or another.

The school shuttles are not the best. Sometimes the drivers decide to make their route and make kids late to class.

Health & Safety:
Even though the campus is huge, I've never felt unsafe. The campus at night is very well light and there are always plenty of students around. The campus even have "blue lights" that have buttons that you can press and they will alert campus police.

The weather in Orlando isn't bad. It's been rainy on a few days and that's it. Most of the time it's really hot, but that's starting to phase out now that it's fall.

UCF is an awesome school. From the classes to the students themselves, everything is really nice. I have yet to be extremely stressed. The professors here are extremely approachable. My hometown is about 2 1/2 hours away, but UCF is the perfect home away from home.

It doesn't matter if you are or aren't a part of Greek life. Of course they have parties, but they aren't very special or talked about. It does seen like most of them really take action for there "cause".

I love my school, however for the major I have there isn't a lot of funding for the program to help me flourish. If you're not in a performing arts/fine arts major, you will love it here and there are so many things to do and ways to exceed. Arts majors are severely under funded so it is difficult to get far in experience.

There is a ton of different off campus housing locations, and new ones are constantly being built. There are some old sketchy ones, but there are many nice ones and all are close to campus or offer free shuttles. There are great prices and all are less expensive than on campus for the space and privacy.
College Junior 2013-10-30T19:15:31Z
Our buildings are pretty new and UCF is constantly under construction which is good and bad. Our Student Union has things going on all the time and there is much to do on campus. Unfortunately arts and performing arts are not well funded.

There are many labs and printing locations you can use, including the library. However during study weeks it gets extremely packed so it's hard to depend solely on on campus computers to study during those times.

For my first two years, financial aid was a breeze and I got everything I needed. However, I messed up a small thing on my FAFSA that somehow resulted in me receiving no grants. This has taken several weeks to just fix a small error and still has not been processed. Then again, I shouldn't have made the mistake in the first place so things are normally a lot smoother.

We aren't "the best" at sports, but we are definitely improving! IM sports are extremely popular and a lot of people participates in the various sports. We have a lot of fields for different sports and a ton of people go to the Varsity sports games.

Perfect for on-campus students, close to the dorms and the foods can variety quite a bit. There are lots of vegetarian options and the quality is actually really good! However, it is expensive because you have so many options for food choices and can stay and eat for the entire day if you wanted! It is not open that late though.
College Junior 2013-10-30T18:43:20Z
Dorms vary from old to new, very small to somewhat spacious. They are strict about things like fire-hazards and pets, but not about alcohol or drugs. They are very close to classes, and this makes it easy to actually attend class and you can walk to the gym and other activities! Off campus is way cheaper.

Greek life is adequate relative to the actual school population (20% I believe), but really popular on campus. Sororities and fraternities are fairly easy to get into since there are many, but they can be extremely clique-y and often times lose their non-greek friends or don't make any in general. People who go to Greek parties are often times those who are in a fraternity or sorority.
College Junior 2013-10-30T18:36:09Z
People can easily get away with alcohol or drugs on and off campus, however there are those who get caught because of obvious reasons. Underage drinking is often at the local bars, rarely downtown. There is a prominent drug scene if you really look for it, otherwise people don't make it known.
College Junior 2013-10-30T18:34:01Z
There is free shuttles from UCF to the downtown areas, grocery stores, malls, and to off campus housing around campus and also shuttles around on-campus places as well. Public transportation is cheap, but the taxis are pretty expensive depending on distance ($50 from UCF to downtown).
College Junior 2013-10-30T18:30:41Z
College students can easily get away with having alcohol and drinking on campus, there are rarely any room checks and they don't look in your fridges or cabinets. I'm sure someone might rat you out for drugs if they can smell it in the halls. You can get caught without a parking pass pretty easily during the day, but the later in the day its easier to park for free.
College Junior 2013-10-30T18:25:06Z
Parking can fill up during rush hours extremely easily, so take about 20 minutes just to find a spot before class. Prices are pretty good, but of course not free. The garages and spaces are really close to your classes. Parking is pretty well enforced, so if you don't have a parking pass you will get a ticket 75% of the time!
Sorry, there are no reviews.
