There are lots of options very close to campus, and there's a convenient free shuttle service. Some are very nice and very expensive, some are not so nice and sort of expensive. Crime definitely exists as it does in any major college area, especially since UCF is such a large school and Orlando is a big city as it is.

Health & Safety:
Never Really Worried – I personally haven't experienced any safety concerns on campus. I sometimes get nervous walking around alone at night, but I'd be nervous anywhere. I might feel better if I saw more police or even security guards around.

Overall positive academic experience. I've yet to encounter a "bad" professor. There are lots of resources but since it's such a big school it can be difficult to utilize them.

Being on a campus with the second largest student population in the country is a pretty intense feeling. With over 50,000 students we have plenty of things for all of them to do

The option of free busing is great, but parking on campus prices are ridiculous.

Greeks Don't Stick Out – We have plenty of opportunities to join and be apart of greek life, but once rush is over, you cant really tell the difference. They dont try to take over campus or have any abnormal control.

Close to the Beach and Well-Respected by Employers. UCF's Cocoa campus is great because you are close to many amenities including awesome places to eat and hospitals which enjoy the pleasure of UCF nursing students at their facility.

Not Many – For all the students, there are not many computers available.

Fun and Alive – I am taking online an online class, but recently I visited the campus for some extra credit work. It was nightfall, but the campus was alive! There was a band playing in a field with a large audience, some were playing sports, there were students everywhere heading to class, talking, hanging out. It made me wish I could live on campus! Orlando itself has tons of things to do. There are multiple theme parks, clubs, restaurants - pretty much anything you could thing of! The downside is that Orlando is said to have a high crime rate. I haven't had any first-hand experiences, but I hear about things happening all the time. Orlando is a great place to have fun, but may not be a safe place to live.

Apartments Allow Freedom! The apartments around UCF are great. The prices are about the same for any apartment complex you go to. Tivoli is my favorite apartment complex. The apartments are clean and you are in a community of college students.

Very Diverse – The student and faculty population at the University of Central Florida is very diverse. I believe this has to do with the overall diversity and major tourism in Orlando. Some of the foreign professors are difficult to understand. I really enjoyed getting to know lab partners from different cultures because it gives you a new, personal understanding of the different practices and ways of life.

The library is currently undergoing a renovation, in which brand new computers and technologically advanced furniture has replaced the old equipment. The study spaces are outstanding and really give the library an enjoyable, study atmosphere.

Health & Safety:
Very Safe Campus – The campus is very secure and safe feeling. I have never heard of or experienced any occurances that would make one feel unsafe. The school is very involved and will send out text messages and email messages of any security alerts, such as strange visitors seen on campus. They even send out warnings of severe weather alerts and what to do in these instances.

Health & Safety:
I feel extremely safe on the campus of the University of Central Florida. It is patrolled 24/7 by the UCF Police Department. I also love the fact that the police department sends out mass emails to all students, faculty, and staff anytime there is a crime on campus, and/or any suspicious activity. Not only do they alert us, but they send another mass email once the activity has been successfully handled to let us know that everything is clear. I love the campus safety at UCF!

Out buses here at UCF come and go every 15 minutes on the dot. Whether you are at school, your apartment, or a friends apartment. Don't waste time and money in a car trying to find a parking spot.

The University of Central Florida offers nightlife to help reduce the amount of durnk driving and help provide an atmosphere where kids feel comfortable around their peers like offering movie night. Clubs are insane around in downtown Orlando. Expensive cover prices, but it depends what you are willing to pay.

Convenience Is Optimal – The amount of variety around Central Florida is huge. Anything from Latino, Mexican, Italian and even Thai. They are always helping out with student discounts, and the supermarkets are plentiful. You won't ever run out of options.
College Senior 2011-10-18T15:41:57Z
Drug Scene – Drugs are not as apparent as drinking through out the campus. I rarely hear of an drug usage other than alcohol.

The off campus housing is acceptable. Sterling Central is nice but can be very pricy. There are many apartments however that are reasonable in price and also nice places to live.

Food and dining is very diverse and there are many options for students. Very satisfied overall.

Its Florida – If you were born and raised in Florida, you are used to the weather. If you are from out of state, it will be a shocking experience.

As long as you don't drive yourself there, because finding parking is perhaps the hardest thing about this place, the shuttles are extremely reliable and always on time.

Nice and Beautiful – UCF is a great place for anyone. It doesn't matter whether you are a first year student, or an older person returning to school. The area is nicely kept and it offers different atmospheres for everyone.

Guys & Girls:
There are so many students at UCF, that it is impossible to not make atleast one friend! Many of the girls are gorgeous and dress very well, and the boys are all pretty average with a few hunks here and again. The social life is and 11 on a 1-10 scale...it's Orlando!
Sorry, there are no reviews.
