Individuality Is Key – The University of Central Florida is the largest school in Florida and in the top three of the U.S. so we have a campus full of diversity. There is every race, religion, and background represented at our school. Just today I passed people speaking different languages, making model rocket ships, being lazy and skipping class, and medical students fervently learning about the different bones in the human body. There is not a single category left out. Though I don't agree with everyone on our campus we are united as a student body, and when it comes time for a football game, it doesn't matter where we stand in politics because we are all UCF Knights with the same goal and hope in mind for the night.

UCF is all about opportunity. There are a plethora of opportunities offered to every student, it is all a matter of taking advantage of those opportunities. I do plan on doing an internship and I feel that I will be successful at obtaining one, and If I seek help in doing so, there are plenty of people who will come to my assistance.

I love the freedom that I have here at UCF. I have friends who attend schools that have policies against allowing people of the opposite sex into dorms. I have a sister who, as a freshman, had a curfew every night, and would be locked out of her dorm and punished if she did not make that curfew. UCF does none of these things and still manages to maintain a warm environment. I love that about this school.

Orlando is already a beautiful city, but it really comes alive at night. There is always something going on at the UCF campus, so nighttime events are no exclusion. UCF offers a great transportation service for club goers or just people who like to be out and about at night. A bus service called the KnightLynx runs on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 pm to 3 am it is extremely convenient, and completely free. I've used it myself...love it! Also, there are clubs within walking distance from UCF, there are even party buses that run sometimes to the bars/clubs downtown.

This is another topic that I have no knowledge on as I am new to the school and I only attend once a week at the Rosen campus. I have been to the main campus area though, and there are a lot of bars and hang out spots for students to go to. I'm sure there are a bunch of parties that go on as well, but I've never been into that scene. I know there are buses for transportation and lots of students drive themselves.

I honestly know nothing about the athletics department at UCF, as this is my first semester there. I do know that UCF football is pretty popular though. Lots of students go out and support the team in their UCF gear and faces painted, and soon enough I will too.

Rosen College of Hospitality Management – Rosen is located on Universal Boulevard in Orlando. It is very close to Pointe Orlando which has a movie theater and lots of restaurants and shops. It's a popular place for students to hang out. Sea World and Aquatica are also nearby, which are two of Orlando's premiere attractions. Across from Rosen is a plaza with Publix and some other shops, it's literally walking distance. Further down the street are beautiful apartments/town homes that are like their own little city. I think it is a great location for the school, and I'm glad they made a separate campus for Hospitality because the main campus is way too far to be driving to everyday for me. International Drive is very close by too, with tons of restaurants and attractions such as Wonderworks, Ripley's Believe it or Not, and tons of mini golf places.

All Facilities at The University of central Florida are absolutely amazing. There are numerous sports centers and fields, the largest library that I've ever seen, and you will ALWAYS find an activity on campus going on to occupy your time.

A Little Difficult – The computers at Central Florida are good, once you find one. Availability of computers is not as high as you would like, which, despite the large size of the library, is understandable considering the massive amount of students who attend the school. Also, when bringing your own computer on campus it is sometimes difficult to get a connection.

Orlando is NOT what you would call a small town. Its a huge city, with 4 lane roads going each way, and large plazas on every other street. Its a city that will keep you occupied with shopping, downtown Disney and the numerous theme parks close by. And the atmosphere of University of Central Florida is great, it has a huge campus, but at the same time makes you feel like your in a close knit community.

Lots of Drinking – Very few drugs have been offered to me. Alcohol is the social lubricant of choice.

I'm Digging It. UCF is a fun school, very large school with a diverse and friendly populace. Compared to Florida State, it's Studio 54.

Plenty of Food Choices, All Expensive. You can't get a decent meal for less than $6 and that makes it hard for the less well off students, like me.

Wireless Guest Network Is Spotty. Other than the wireless guest network being slow occasionally, I've got no qualms with the availability or efficiency of technology at the school.

Union Square – There are a lot of cheap and convenient places to eat around the university. The usual options are available, such as Subway, Taco Bell, Pita Pit, Chipolte, etc. There are also some restaurants that carry Mediterranean food, if you're into that. Hummus House and The Falafel Cafe are two that come to mind. Hummus House carries all homemade ingredients and is a quick, clean, and better maintained Pita Pit while Falafel Cafe is definitely a sit down restaurant with some fantastic vegetarian options.

English-Creative Writing – Getting into the Creative Writing program is as simple as saying you want to be in it. I wish it wasn't so. Even if you don't know basic rules of grammar (capitalization, indentation, etc.), you can get in, because nobody checks. You can also switch your major at any time without approval, for most majors.
So, easy of getting in? A+
Overall quality of the program because of ease? C
I'll just give it a B.

Easy to Find Aid – I had no problem getting everything paid for at UCF, between grants and scholarships. Especially if you're from Florida, it should be cake.
I've also never had any problems with the financial aid office, but I've heard complaints from others.

Wireless Everywhere – I bring my netbook to school with me, so I'm very big on wireless access. Pretty much anywhere you go in UCF will give you wireless, whether it's in class, or out in the breezeway, even in the parking lot! However, there have been times when the wireless was down in one spot or another.
If you come to the library early, you'll have no trouble nabbing a computer, but certain times in the day are crazy. And the free printing requires looong waits if you don't come really early.

It is mostly hot and sometimes it rains in the afternoons but it does not go to the extreme of not being about to get to and from the Campus.

There are a variety of places you could go to sink you teeth into some good cooking. There are a lot of fast food places like Mc Donalds and Burger king but there are also some restaurants like Red Lobster and TGI Fridays. If you don't want to eat but still have fun there are clubs like the Library close by to relax and enjoy yourself.

Hot Hot Hot – The weather in Orlando is super hot except from around November through January when it cools off a lot!

Eating Options in Orlando – The list of restaurants around campus in Orlando are endless! We have everything from Applebee's to Taco Bell to Kyoto's. It's awesome to have such a wide variety of both types of food and price ranges.

Off-Campus Convenience – Living off-campus is awesome! I love having my own "home" to come home to every day, my own room and bathroom, and own kitchen to cook in. The location of where I live is also great! I am right in between the large shopping center nearby and campus. There is also a shuttle system that runs from my place to campus and back so I never have to worry about parking on campus.

Zero Drugs – I have not seen drugs at UCF since I first transferred; that makes me feel secure.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
