Variety of Programs – Another reason why I went to UCF is because the variety of programs. UCF offers a lot of programs, allowing almost anyone to find their ideal course of study. Some programs I find are too big and try to weed students out, others are way too small and offer little opportunities for students. I am enrolled in the latter. Campus life is okay, a lot of students are involved in Greek life.

Orlando, Fl Atmosphere – Orlando is centered in the heart of Florida, and one of the reasons why I decided to attend UCF is due to the amount the Orlando region has to offer. Many of my friends work at theme parks from Universal to Disney, and many of my classmates are obsessed with the amount of theme parks local to the school. Once a year UCF gives free tickets for one night at the theme parks too. UCF is located near large outlet malls, regular malls, and even small shopping centers. Hitting the mall is not an issue at UCF. Activities, I feel it is hard to find one that isn't filled with tourists. Since my 2 years here I have seen Blue Man Group, gone jet skiing, went to St. Augustine, the Central Florida zoo, local clubs, to downtown disney, hit the asian markets, downtown Orlando, attend an orchestra, and more. Orlando is filled with many small restaurants, many which are my current favorites. Some are small and pricey, and others are great in price. Orlando has the best food for any price! For sports, I have yet to attend a sporting event here (besides UCF events which are a blast), and never been to a cultural event. Safety can be an issue, especially in downtown orlando, and campus affiliated housings. We are always emailed about crime local to the school. I don't notice a local attitude towards students, don't know if it's good or bad.

Not to Bad – Its college, a good chuck of the kids are using something of some kind. Still, nothing is done out in the open, and I never seen it outside the dorms.

Nothing Too Exciting – Everyone looks pretty average, nothing too eccentric. Everyone is pretty friendly towards each other.

The Towers – I LOVE living at the Towers on campus. It is a little pricey, but it is in a great location and it is so easy living on campus. I have my own room here, a kitchen, and a living room. It's great!

Parking can be hectic during certain times of the day, but over-all not so bad. They have added more and more parking zones i.e. garages to accomodate increases in enrollment numbers. Watch out for tickets though! Parking services at UFC are strict, organized, and will ticket you whenever possible.

I would say that Greek life at UCF is pretty valued and most definitely has a presence on Campus. Some Sororities and Fraternities have houses on campus. Some have houses off-campus.

Computer Science – My current concentration is getting my bachelor's in computer science, and furthering that with a master's in Interactive Entertainment. Learning how to program and create video games has been my dream since I was little. When I learned that UCF was ranked second in the country for the path I want, there was no doubt this would be the place for me. So far, my classes are a blast and I'm looking forward to subsequent semesters. The job opportunity is enormous for my field of study, and UCF puts me in great position to succeed.

On Campus Police – University of Central Florida has an outstanding commitment to safety. Campus crime is very low and when it occurs, the issue is addressed immediately. The school has its own police system with an office easily accessible on campus. The safety and police department made itself known since the first day of orientation, providing valuable contact information, safety tips and the services it has to offer. Of the many services, the police provide a late night shuttle service on campus in order to transport individuals around campus during the late hours. There are also numerous emergency stations were one can signal to the police any danger in their surrounding area.

There are an abundance of appartments located around the campus perimeter. Some are less than three minutes away from campus; others are more like ten minutes but still close. These appartments are generally nice and well-kept and are fairly affordable. Parking on an around campus can be a tough, due to the sheer amount of students. Parking at any given off- campus apartment complex can be tough if your a visitor. From a security stand point though, this is not necessarily a bad quality.

There When You Need It – Each major college building has some sort of computer lab of their own, so finding one even during the "power hours" of the day isn't a problem. The wifi network is solid with a tad bit of a delay, but it's sluggish enough to cause a lack of quality.

I have never felt threatened or unsafe at UCF. There are large maps around every major building so it's hard to get lost. The faculty and local security are helpful and vigilant.

School Safety – UCF's has had it's share of problems, but I've never felt truly unsafe around campus. I wouldn't go walking around in the wee hours of the night, but that principle goes for where ever I am. We have carts that transport students to their dorms when it starts getting dark so that there's less problems.

The nightlife is pretty cool around here. The only thing is that clubs close at 2 in orlando, but you could definitely find somewhere to chill with your friends after.

They Are Okay.. The off-campus apartments are plentiful in number, but its more expensive and more of a hassle. You have to find some way to transit between your complex and school, and allow time to find parking and walking time. I have friends that have to leave a minimum of 2 hours before class time to ensure punctuality. You also don't have the convenience of food and amenities right outside your door.

Living on Campus Is Amazing! Being on campus allows you to be at the center of everything. I never miss out on any events, and I hear about some that my off-campus dwelling friends don't. Everything you need is a short walk away, and you don't have to stress about finding parking for each class. The gym is a minute's walk away from my dorm. My suite-mates are amazing. Living on campus allows you to make connections that you would not have the chance to have made if you lived elsewhere. I HIGHLY recommend it!

I received a lot of financial aid, But due to the tons of hidden fees the school gives you, i don't even have enough money to eat this week. I think that should change. Boo to hidden fees. Boo.

A Properly Diverse Campus – UCF is a very diverse community. I have made friends from many different countries that include many different cultures. UCF is all about unity. Every culture, regardless of differences, gets along here. I have never had a problem fitting in with a particular group.

Safe and Sound – UCF is a very safe place to be. The school rarely receives a threat, but when they do, every student receives an alert via message on their phone or e mail explaining the situation. I have never felt threatened here. police are regularly patrolling the area. If I have a late class, I have the option to receive a complimentary ride home to ensure my safety. All of these aspects contribute to the safety of all UCF students.

It Can Be Tough Keeping a Large University Healthy – It is rare that many people become ill at The University of Central Florida, but with it being the second largest university in America, disease will spread rapidly if it sparks up.

Good and Bad – I've heard many good things about Greek life at UCF, while I, myself, am not involved.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
