School Spirited – While our athletic teams might not always win the championships, or even win, our school has spirit. I'd say that out of 10,000 students, 9999 of the students are proud to be a knight. And in a school of 58,000, that's only about 6 people who are not proud. And even with that number, I'd say it's large. Everywhere you go you see at least 10 people wearing UCF shirts, even off campus. The facilities for athletics are great, and our athletes are given the opportunity to be the best.

While there is a a lot of white people on campus, we still have a lot of diversity as well, race wise. In the majority of my classes there are whites, blacks, Asian, Australians, and Europeans. I even have an Australian professor, and last semester I had an Egyptian one. Not only is there diversity within race, but there is diversity regarding economic background, religion, and sexual orientation. Here at UCF, we have a large number of on-campus student religious organizations and fellowships. And there are a lot of students on campus who go off campus each Sunday to attend church. We also have a large LGBTQ community.

Always Growing – The thing I find unique about UCF is that they are always expanding. Every semester they are building a new building or expanding on an old one. You will never see the same school in consecutive semesters. Always something new.

Getting Better – Parking my freshmen year was a pain. However, as the years progressed they have added more parking lots and parking has been made easier each year.

The school is all about their football team, the Knights. However, I think the campus life doesn't need to revolve around the football team and the season. They need to tame it down a bit. Not everyone likes sports.

Health & Safety:
Safety and Security – I find that the university takes safety and security very seriously. They have their own campus police department that will even escort a student to their car at night. It's very wonderful and it makes the campuse a very safe place to be.

There are representatives of many different ethnic groups at UCF, which shows a general kindness and acceptance of any individual. African-Americans, Latino, American ethnicities are what make up the student population. A well-rounded student body helps ensure a level of quality education equally obtainable by any individual who attends.

I am still new to this university, but my experience has been okay. Everything is there in front of you. Everything is mapped out on a map pretty easily. Everyone is helpful, and there's a lot of people to meet. I love the pathways that UCF has. I wish I didn't choose this one because of the population of the student body. Parking really is bad, and traffic [among people and cars] is bad.

From what I have seen, UCF is very positive in allowing things like tailgate parties on campus. Although, there are simple rules to abide by. As the second largest university in the nation, if one person does something bad then the next will. It will be an ongoing chain, so the school makes sure everyone is abiding by the rules and regulations. Do not smoke here. Do not skateboard, rollerblade, or bicycle here. It's just simple rules, but I guess a lot decide not to.

Health & Safety:
It Could Be Better – University of Central Florida grasps the concepts of health and safety. They make sure their students act accordingly, and they make them take these classes about alcohol, sexual assault, and their academic integrity. They give you helpful tips also. From what I have seen, they always have someone apart of UCF around campus whether it may be a maintance guy, officer, staff member, or a teacher. Although, there are some precautions they take in account for. They are currently having vending machine break ins. Crimes conducted upon people going to their cars. There should be more safety precautions to the students, and more disciplinary actions towards those that do not abide by the basic conductory.

UCF offers various transportation like buses and shuttles. The shuttles bring students outside campus which is very convienient for on campus students

Labs Are Always Full Especially During Noon – The lab offers free printing for students. They allow students to print 20 pages per day for free. This is the main reason why it is so hard to get computer time.

How does paying $80 for a parking spot you cant find sound? The parking decals are around 80 bucks. The best way to find a spot is to stalk someone as they go out to there car. Dont bother bringing your nice care to campus either... it will get dinged up!

Knight Life – There is always something going on in Orlando. From City walk to downtown clubs and Howl at the Moon. There is something for everyone. A lot of clubs offer college night, show your school ID and get in for free!

FUN TIMES! This is a pretty active school. There is activities to do everyday. There is transportation to get in the downtown area where there a lot of the fun takes place. It leaves me plenty to do but also allows quiet time if needed. I love this atmosphere of oneness.

With a school of 50,000+ people, you tend to have a lot of diversity.

The best way to go is to rent a house with a couple other roommates near the campus for cost and convenience. Stirling is nice but expensive, jefferson village is also nice and provides transportation shuttles to campus. Had some friends stay at collegiate village inn, would not recommend.

I am studying to become a nurse and from the beginning it is a hard task. I plan to have an internship this upcoming summer at a hospital and follow around a nurse in his/her everyday life. I think having an internship is a great experience because it really shows a student what the real life career is about. I say I want to become a nurse, yet after an internship, I may discover that I can't handle everything that goes on in a hospital. Or I may find that I absolutely love it and discover which field I want to focus on. I do not have any concerns with finding one, the academic advisors can usually guide you on how to find one or the advisors in the college.

Great Opportunity. Greek life at some other schools control the social scene, but at UCF Greek life is just one of the many organizations you can join. We have many on campus houses along with off campus and it lets students have the opportunity to meet a bunch of new people and become involved. Its a great way to meet new friends and gain real world experience.

Every race, religion, orientation and background is represented at UCF. The University makes a huge effort to promote diversity initiatives and enhance the mingling on campus. Students still often form cliques based on race or religion, but the surrounding area is much more integrated.

Space Is Limited – The dorms at UCF are mostly not class restrictive, but preference is given to underclassmen due to limited availability. The towers are the newest and nicest dorms but they are the furthest from the heart of campus. Other dorms are ancient and have less privacy but have better access to campus amenities. Academic Village is feet away from the gym and the leisure pool which is ideal for those with a little bit of free time.
College Senior 2011-09-01T18:38:39Z
The diversity at UCF is incredible. All around campus are the bright faces of every ethnicity possible. At UCF everyone has an equal chance. I have never seen a fight or a problem when it comes to the different racial backgrounds. There are students here that have an abundant amount of money and then students who work full time to pay for their schooling. UCF has one of the largest student bodies, yet everyone is always being helped if needed. UCF offers many scholarships and job opportunities to everyone and anyone, background aside. There are hundreds of clubs to join and if a student can not find one, they can create one of their own. UCF is an all around amazing school.
