Even though I've been living here for 5 days, the overall experience has been great. The people are outgoing and are always wanting to do something.

Off-Campus Living – Living off-campus is definitely on-campus. There is the ability of doing more things in a more open environment. The cost can be a little high since most of the apartments are trying to make money off the students.

Living on Campus – I live off campus but I know some people who lived in dorms and disliked the small rooms and amenities there.

The UCF Recreation and Wellness Center is a phenomenon of its own. With a rock climbing wall, basketball courts, an indoor track, and group exercise rooms, anyone can workout. If you don't necessarily like "pumping iron," try out cardio kickboxing or yoga. There is so much to choose from. The library is huge! It is a great place to have study groups or research papers. A famous campus activity is the "Spirit Splash" during homecoming week. There is something someone can do at all times. The campus in general is mostly brick with many trees around it. UCF is a huge circle, so if a person gets lost, it's not the end of the world.

"Uknight" in Orlando – The University of Central Florida is located in an area where everyone can find their niche. If one is interested in sports and fitness, UCF has a state-of-the-art recreation center and also provides intramural sports. The arena for the Orlando Magic is not far away, so when the NBA season starts, die-hard Magic fans can go support their team without using all of their gas tank. For attractions, the Student Government Association provides discounted tickets for enrolled students to places such as Islands of Adventure, Universal, and even for movie theaters. There are so many clubs one is able to join on campus. The atmosphere at UCF is friendly and everyone has school spirit.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My! I do not think it matters which high school you came from, once you become a UCF Knight, even if you were not into sports before, everyone seems to be involved in showing spirit. Our recreation center is amazing. I would give this an A+ if they had a swim team. It is the only thing missing.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow – Uiversity of Central Florida is a melting pot. They have a wide variety of ages, races, and sexual orientation. One of the things I love the most about UCF is their wide selection of clubs. Even though my sexual orientation is straight, my younger brother is gay and I was able to join Equal for UCF to support gay rights and be able to hear and fight for things my brother will go through in the future.

There's No Place Like Home – The dorm is an experience that every person should experience; however, it is not the best choice for everyone. I like privacy and hot baths once in a while. You share a room (me, in particular with a messy person) and a shower with no tub. You may have a roommate who likes to come in at 3:00 a.m. while you are getting your beauty sleep for an 8:00 a.m. class. While I am glad I experienced it, I am enjoying my apartment across from campus with my private room and opportunity for a hot bath much more!

Guys & Girls:
There is a lot of guys and girls from south florida. As a guy i can say that the women look great. Tan and blondes r a dime a dozen. The guys are mostly guidos or south florida/miami gym party ragers. its a good environment.

Everyplace around campus is great. definitely recommend it
College Senior 2011-08-25T05:01:33Z
Pretty Strict – The campus has its own police force. They are an ever present entity. Alcohol and drugs are frowned upion although they may let you slide on the drinks on game day as long as your not endangering anyone else. Dorm rooms are not the greatest. There are random checks.

Not a Big Deal – I know a lot of people in sororities and frats but it's not really a big deal. Most people i know are not in the Greek system, but we do enjoy the parties they throw. They are a big presence when it comes to philanthropic events certain times of the year but life at UCF doesn't revolve around the Greek system

Health & Safety:
Pretty Safe – I personally have never felt scared or threatened while on camous. I did hear of thefts and such occuring but have not been a victim. The campus is well lit with a visible police force.

Like Rain? Its always wet in central Florida, needless to say its going to rain almost everyday on campus. Not to mention Florida is hot, so if you dont like the heat not the best place for school. Classes are pretty far apart so the trek in 100 degree weather can be tough. Late fall and early spring weathers great though.
College Junior 2011-08-24T19:53:33Z
As a new incoming freshman im still trying to find and become use to the policies and strictness of law enforcement at the University.
College Junior 2011-08-24T19:52:22Z
At the University there is numerous amounts of options for everyone of all ages and all views. There are are plenty of study groups, restraunts, social spots, parties and plenty of school related activities. If your not interested in drinking or partying there are still things for you to do! But there are always parties going on, and downtown Orlando is just down the road.

Again, Something for Everyone – Groups that cater to just about anything you happen to be into, plenty of on and off campus activities, great academic program, and always on the rise.

Very Diverse – UCF is an extremely diverse campus. There is an awesome mashup of all different races. The campus is very accepting of eachothers races as well as sexual orientations, etc.

There's Something for Everyone – There really is a huge variety of apartment complexes that cater to students around campus. The prices depend on what amenities you require and how nice of an apartment you want, but there is something for everyone and generally speaking, living OFF campus is cheaper than living ON.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
